Bank Street Bungalow

Newly renovated 1940's Bungalow located in the heart of Mayberry. We are within walking distance to downtown shopping, restaurants, coffee shops and bakeries. We are literally around the corner from Wally's Service Station where they offer rides in the squad cars. Pilot Mtn park is a 15 minute drive south on hwy 52. It has some amazing views and hiking paths. Speaking of walking paths, Mount Airy has some beautiful paths downtown, along the river.
We are in close proximity to several Yadkin Valley wineries. The Blue Ridge Parkway is a 15 minute ride north of us. It's a beautiful sight anytime of the year but Fall is amazing.
This non smoking home has 3 bedrooms (queen bed, full bed and bunk beds - 200lb limit on bunks) 2 baths (one tub / one shower) and is full of charm.
We have two porches and a deck to sit and relax on (smoking permitted there only, not inside the home) and enjoy the NC weather.
Our home has WiFi, cable TV, fully equipped kitchen and laundry room. Extra linens are available and the beds are freshly made.

We have parking to accommodate 4 cars.

We take cleaning serious! We do our best to provide you with a clean, comfortable environment.

1 night stays are sometimes available on weekdays, please message me.

If you are having a great time and wish to extend your stay for another day, please contact me. We might be able to accommodate you depending on our reservations.

Pets with good manners are welcome. We only ask you to please close the doors to the bedrooms you are not using. Please also know that there are gaps in the fence where a small dog can slip through. Don't forget to bring your pet's favorite bedding with you so they are comfortable.

Children should be over 5 years old. Please be aware that we have cleaning supplies within reach of small hands.

Perfect Accommodations!

The property was exactly as described in the listing. Very relaxing and not far from the action. It is truly a home away from home. Owner was excellent with conveying expectations and directions. Anything you could think of was provided by the owner. We couldn’t have asked for anything better!

Quaint Little Get Away

We decide to celebrate our moms birthday with a VRBO get-away. The bungalow was adorable. First impressive very clean and cozy.Liz was amazing with her timely response! Thank you Liz for allow us to give our moms an amazing stay!!

Family getaway

This house is so cute! Well appointed and comfortable for 4 adults and 2 teenage boys. The location is Lise enough to walk downtown. A great experience!

Mayberry Bungalow

We love staying at this place, Liz is awesome to work with, not enough words to say how nice she is and her property. The house is convenient to main street and within walking distance to shops, restaurants, etc. I would highly recommend staying here should you consider coming to Mt. Airy.

Wedding weekend

Beautiful Bungalow

This property was just what we needed for mom’s 90th birthday. She’s a a real Andy Griffith fan. This house is close to all things Mayberry. Everything we needed was there. The kitchen is extremely well stocked and usable. Liz was very accessible and helpful. Wonderful place to stay!

Excellent Property

We had an amazing time at the Bank Street Bungalow! The location is perfect for walking to the downtown of Mount Airy. The bungalow was stocked with everything we needed as well as snacks and drinks. The owner was great at communicating. The bungalow was exceptionally clean! It is adorable inside and so cozy. The fenced in back yard was great for our dogs. We will be back!

Mayberry around the corner

Beautiful and well appointed property just around the corner from Wally’s fill station and within walking distance or a 5 minute drive of all the Mayberry attractions. Liz was kind and response. Our extended family had an excellent stay, all the way down to our 12lb Italian Greyhound.

Our Happy Place

Perfect Stay!

We chose Valentine’s Day weekend for our stay in Mount Airy, which was a town we have wanted to visit for some time now. Of course we did the touristy stuff and visited all of the Andy Griffith sites, wearing ourselves out. The nicest part of the trip was Liz’s place, where we were able to relax each evening after 2 long days of walking and sightseeing, in an atmosphere that just felt like home. Before the stay Liz was very communicative and made sure that we had everything we needed before our arrival, then checked on us while we were there to make sure everything was what we had expected. It was, and more. If we come back to Mount Airy at any point, I can guarantee we will visits Liz’s place once again. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this beautiful, little town.

Fantastic!

Beautiful home! We had snacks and treats—first time ever to have a home provide these and drinks! Very nice touch! We also had an anniversary banner which was so special! Great stay and great location—just a 10 min walk but Mt. Airy has a ton of parking in their charming downtown area! We had great food recommendations and an easy checkout!

Amazing Bungalow and Host

The Bank Street Bungalow was more than we expected. Very clean and cozy. It felt like home. We loved everything about it. Liz even contacted Mother Nature and had her deliver 5” of snow!!! We had a great weekend walking around Mt Airy (Mayberry) and hanging out in the house. Liz was a great host. She was very responsive to all my messages and kept me up-to-date on the weather before our arrival. Her husband even shoveled the driveway before we arrived so we could park. We are planning our next trip back to Mt Airy so we can visit their precious town, since most everything was closed due to the weather. We will definitely stay at Bank Street Bungalow again.

Girl’s Getaway

My sister-in-law and I had a fabulous time visiting Mount Airy and the surrounding area. Wonderful Tim’s shopping and exploring the quaint antique shops. The Bank Street Bungalow was charming , beautifully decorated and felt like home. We would highly recommend staying at The Bungalow during your visit to Mount Airy!

Absolutely perfect.

Girls trip to celebrate Christmas early and do a few wine tastings. Bank Street Bungalow was exceptional. We visit Mt . Airy quite often and this was our first time staying at BSB. We are excited to come back in the warmer months and enjoy all the wonderful amenities Liz has to offer in this cozy bungalow. Liz was very easy to contact and an exceptional host. If any changes were made, not that there were any issues, maybe add a regular bed instead of the bunk beds. My friends are older and can't climb like they use to. HAHA . Loved the the Tempur- Pedic remote bed in the mastrer bedroom. It was awesome!!

Amazing on all levels

On vacation, we don't like to have to drive. This house is within walking distance to everything. (But still offers the peace and quiet that we like) The property was clean, safe location, well maintained and the house has been given that personal touch to make sure the guests are comfortable. We've stayed in lots of "for rent by owner" and this is the top by far. Dedicated driveway, comfortable outdoor lounging area with grill and the inside offers so many comforts. We were confused at first with how to work the remote controls on the TV and the owner immediately responded and walked us thru it. (Impressive) - We will be back and will be recommending this to friends and family. We were so impressed at the "extras" that Elizabeth set up for us that we left her a card on the table. We were there celebrating a birthday with a friend. Thanks Elizabeth!!!!
