This listing features a TROPICAL ISLAND villa at Cocoplum Beach & Tennis Club &Marina—one of just two villas near the office that look out over the tennis court and gardens (Unit 16 or Unit #18). The exact villa number is provided upon arrival. While these units do not offer direct views of the Atlantic Ocean or the beach/pool, they’re just a short three- to four-minute stroll from the oceanfront amenities.

Cocoplum sits on a rare Florida Keys beach with a rare zero-edge pool that overlooks both the Atlantic and the sandy shore. It’s an ideal spot for family reunions or two couples traveling together. Enjoy deep-water docks along a protected canal (with water and electricity), a heated swimming pool (heated from Dec 20 to March 30 and is just not necessary at any other time of the year. with ocean views and a jacuzzi. Located at mile marker 54.5 in the central Florida Keys, the property enjoys great year-round weather perfect for fishing, diving, & relaxing in the tropical climate.

Please note: Motorized watercraft, including boats, jet skis, & all motorized toys—are not permitted on the beach. Most guests stay for 7 nights, arriving and departing any day of the week, though shorter stays (3 to 6 nights) may be available on request.

The 2-bedroom, 2-bath vacation home is fully furnished, offering a full kitchen & dining area, a master bedroom with a queen bed, a guest room with a queen & twin bed, and a family room with a queen-size sofa bed (sleeps up to six). Additional amenities include 3 flat-screen cable TVs, a spacious screened porch, & a private laundry room. We include high speed comcast fiber Wi-Fi throughout the property. On the ground floor you’ll find the utility area with washer, dryer, bait freezer and storage. Exterior stairs lead to the main entrance on the first floor (dining, kitchen, balcony), while an interior spiral staircase takes you to the second floor (living room, bedrooms, bathrooms, wet bar). Please note, no elevators are available.

1st and foremost, the staff was great and the room was very clean. The pool and hot tub were great and all the vegitation throughout the villas was beautiful and nicely kept. The property, furniture, and decor is very dated. Our place didnt have any smart tvs so we could watch our streaming services which was disappointing. The wifi was more out than in for us at our place. Bug spray is highly suggested as we encountered an onslaught of no-see-ums. As for the beach....we ran across foul smells, broken glass, and trash that either washed up or was left by previous renters. The price we paid for an October vacation was very reasonable and helped with the cons this place presented.

Overall the stay was great! The only complaint is the amount of hair that was in the guest bathroom tub when we arrived. We cleaned the tub and moved on with our vacation.

Due to circumstances beyond the owners control we were only able to stay one night. The property manager and owner of the property were super helpful, very nice and ended up giving us a full refund. We will be coming back at a later date for sure. It was a beautiful place right on the beach. We definitely recommend!

Unit was very clean, stocked with all the kitchen standards/needs. We didn't have a beach front unit but still had ocean views. Checkin and out was easy and the lady was very nice, she even offered some helpful insite into beaches, shops and food. Great location to beaches and boat ramps.

Quiet Good location!

4 adults - we had a good time here. The beach was okay the ocean was super hot so we spent most of the time in the pool. The jacuzzi was nice at night time. Check in was smooth, parking easy. Very quiet, no noise, nothing bothered us. I would recommend bringing beach towels we thought we could buy some quick but we wasted an hour searching stores where a towel wasn't 50. We also bought a styrofoam cooler for the beach/pool. The place was pretty clean, beds seemed comfortable. No bathroom on the first floor and the spiral staircase could be a problem for older people. The enclosed balcony is large and super convenient as we got destroyed by sand flies at night over by the beach/pool. It is close to a lot of restaurants and attractions. Taking an uber is convenient if you don't want to drive.

Great & relaxing spot

Even though the property is older, they have kept up with remodeling. We were there in the off season...so very few guest. At times we had the pool all to ourselves. Mothernature brought in some seaweed, but still were able to get into the ocean which was very warm. Overall a great spot , would visit again!!

Good Value and Sevice, Disappointing Beach

The service was good, and the unit was spacious and comfortable. However, we had hoped for a more resort-like feel. The beach was horrible, and we were hoping to use the grills, but we didn't when we saw that we would need charcoal and grill tools.

Ideal location for your Key vacation

Our family of 4 found this VRBO the perfect place to stay for our south Florida vacation. It is a family-operated resort called the Cocoplum Beach & Tennis Club. The location is ideal for a vacation in the Keys. It is right in the middle of Marathon with restaurants, shopping and lots to do like snorkeling, fishing, and marine animal sanctuaries nearby. Two days, we just stayed on site to enjoy the pool and beach. The property is kept extremely clean and the grounds are immaculate. Seaweed on the beach was swept up every morning. The pool is small and the resort isn't large so we felt it was a very safe for our kids. Also it’s a quiet resort so you can really relax. The units are super spacious and have all the amenities you could want. We cooked breakfasts, made simple lunches, and went out for dinner each night. The kitchen was lovely and updated. The bathrooms had older tile and features but also brand new clean shower enclosure. We loved having two bedrooms and two bathrooms! We enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back!

WAS AS ADVERTISED-QUIET FAMILY PLACE

Very nice couple that manage (own?) this quiet property. Beds were very comfortable. Bathrooms however were very tiny, no fans and outdated, but kitchen was well-equipped and updated. Each unit does have alot of stairs as stated in description. On the plus side no one is above or below you and screen balcony is really large. Each unit has its own laundry facilities on ground level. Landscaping throughout property is nicely maintained. Biggest complaint was "heated" pool water was colder than the ocean water in mid-Feb. Luckily the ocean was fairly warm. Nice private beach with plenty of loungers. Hot tub water is not hot enough IMO. Maybe 3/4 mile from main rd.

Located in the heart of the Florida Keys, our property is midway between Key West and the mainland—each just 50 miles away. We’re situated on one of the few beaches in the area, with a pool overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Marathon offers a peaceful atmosphere, excellent diving and fishing, and warm tropical breezes all year. Our pool is open year-round and heated from late December to March; the climate keeps it comfortable for the rest of the year. With over 35 years of property management experience in the Florida Keys, we provide quality service.

Marathon is considered the heart of the Florida Keys! Go deep sea or backcountry fishing, sailing, diving, or snorkeling at an incredible coral reef, then unwind at nearby restaurants. Key West, known for its vibrant history and endless shopping, is 54 miles south. At least one guest in each group must be 25 years old or older. Maximum occupancy is six per villa, including children; day visitors are not permitted. Only registered guests can use the resort’s amenities, maintaining its intimate character. The resort sits right on the Atlantic beach. The front four units are “Beach Front” (most expensive), followed by six “Palm Court” villas (moderately priced), eight “Key Lime Grove” villas (best value), and finally two “Tropical Island” villas (least expensive), which overlook the tennis courts and are only a brief walk to the beach and pool. Traveling with a large group? Multiple villas can be booked on the same property for extended families, friends, or corporate retreats. The region is renowned for excellent fishing & diving all year, & some of the best tarpon fishing during May & June. Cocoplum is conveniently located 2.5 hours from Miami Airport, 3 hours from Fort Lauderdale Airport, & 55 miles from Key West. The scenic drive passes over 25 bridges connecting the islands of the Keys. The property sits right in the middle, truly the Heart of the Florida Keys.
