This stay was great! Beautiful views, lots of room, and a great screen in porch! The house is much prettier in person than the pictures! WiFi was great at the house as well. However, tons of gnats at the waterfront so come prepared. I would also recommend bringing extra spices, oil, foil/ parchment paper/ plastic wrap if wanted, bed linens (if you plan to use the pull out couch or futon), and extra towels/ toilet paper/ paper towels. Also to note town/supplies about 20-25 mins away from house on a windy road.

The location is amazing and access to kayaks and canoes made our stay memorable. We also very much enjoyed the game of corn holes. The kitchen is also very well equipped, with lots of pots and pans to cook. The only downside was the very limited number of bath towels. The place is also very close to the Luray caverns, worth the trip, and reasonably close to one of the entrances to Shenandoah National Park.

Fantastic spring getaway with our family. We chose it for the waterfront view and it did not disappoint. Gorgeous property with amazing river views. Loved the kayaks and canoes and easy water access. House was just right with super comfy beds and was very clean. The property owner gave great instructions and clear communication as well.

This home has a wonderful backyard overlooking the Shenandoah River! Very peaceful, perfect for a getaway from the rat race. I must warn you about the stairs though. There are over 20 steps jus to get to the front door. I don’t understand why the home was built exceptionally high…..

This is a charming cabin with incredible views and access to the river. The house is located about 10 minutes outside of town, along a scenic back road that runs along the river. House was clean and cozy, with plenty of room for my family of 4. Beds were large and comfortable. We had a few minor issues that caused a bit of inconvenience (washing machine didn't work and door handle for sliding glass door was broken). But we enjoyed our stay!

The indoor property was nice. I wish that it had more lighting, a better front door, a gate on the deck. The four season room could use a good mopping and the outdoor cushions needed to be cleaned. The house had the normal wear and tear of a rental. Holes in the owner suite comforter , chipped paint in the bathroom and the walls could use a good wipe. All of the essentials were included. The yard was a mess, I don't know if there was storm prior to our stay but there were down branches, the grass was tall and not cut until the night before we left. There was dog feces, old fishing line and bait in the yard. Under the deck could use some care. It appeared as if it wasn't cleaned after the last stay. We definitely left the yard in better shape than how we found it. We took the time to organize the kayaks and canoes for the next guest. When we found the kayaks and canoes, they were in the grass with lots of water and debris in them. The best part of our trip was the river. We brought our own tubes and life vest. The owner had fishing rods but they are not kid friendly. We most enjoyed catching crawfish and birdwatching. The water isn't deep so it's good for children to play.

This home is located on the perfect spot to fish, boat and swim right on the water. That is unfortunately all it has to provide. Our family of seven looked forward to having a fun weekend together (they are now adult children) only to be shocked by the condition of the home. The pictures advertised here are either old or enhanced. While some of the furniture is the same the property was so dirty. Our bedding was so bad with animal hair and body fluids on it (all beds) that we had to wash everything before we could sleep in the bed. The bedspreds were in desperate need of replacing...ours in master was full of holes and the filling was coming out. There is hair both human and dog hair everywhere. The kitchen was not clean and there was food left in the cabinets (opened and old). We asked if we could arrive a little early and told we would be contacted as soon as the cleaning was completed....never contacted. The windows,doors, and siding need to be cleaned and power washed. Some were covered with mold and mildew. The yard had fallen trees with grass growing up around it. Canoes were stored upside down and filled with water. The paddles and life jackets were broken...it was so sad because the house has amazing potential. I wrote a message to the owner describing all the issues and received a very basic response and issued a credit on the cleaning fee. I don't fill this was adequate for what we had to do to simply be comfortable in a weekend rental that cost almost 900.00.

Great river get away

The cabin was great! The view of the river was outstanding and so was the fire pit. It was an easy hour to Shenandoah national Park, which is what we were visiting mostly. Also, Luray is lovely.

Perfect nature vacation

Close to the Shenandoah River and prime hiking trails, it is a peaceful break and has crystal clear air and water. Would definitely recommend for anyone needed some rest and relaxation.

Beautiful river cabin

Loved this beautiful home on a peaceful stretch of river - we swam, we kayaked, we fished, we watched birds and wildlife, we enjoyed a wonderful bonfire. Highly recommend- we hope to come back!

Stay in Shenandoa valley

Beautiful location and outstanding accommodations. Need to work out the entry process as the keypad only works the deadbolt and not the doorknob which was also locked.

My wife and I both love the water and had been looking for a waterfront vacation home for two years - mostly in the wrong places! This spring, our neighbor bought a house down river on the Shenandoah, which turned us on to the Shenandoah Valley. The minute we set foot in the back (front?) yard of our cabin we knew it was the one.

There is something about the little brook that runs through the property, the fire pit, geese dancing in the river and the friendly kayakers waving as they float on by that really caught our attention.

Not only is the actual lot beautiful, the location is really unbeatable. It feels remote and you're surrounded by nature, but it's close enough to amenities that a 15 minute ride can have you sipping wine at the Valley Cork in Luray, a 30 minute drive puts you at Muse Vineyards in Woodstock. In 40 minutes you're in Harrisonburg - a vibrant college town of 50k people, or in Washington, VA - home of the famous Inn.

The lot itself is flat and reasonably private. It's wide enough that while you can see the neighbors to your left while sitting in the yard, they are far enough away as to not be intrusive. On the right the property is separated from the other neighbors by shrubbery and hedges, so you won't even notice they're there.
