My family of 4 are so pleased with the whole experience. We found it to be all we expected: the proximity to the river (with canoes, lawn chairs & fire pit with plenty of wood!) and the cabin's cleanliness & features. We've stayed at other nearby cabins over the years: this is our favorite. We'll be back !!

Cozy, quaint, clean little cabin. Loved the fully stocked kitchen and fully screened porch overlooking the Shenandoah river. Cute furnishings. Great secluded area not too far from town close to major attractions and hiking. Hosts were responsive- although we wanted for nothing. Our dog loved jumping in the river - he did not want to leave. It was a wonderful stay. Thank you!

We had a wonderful time at this cottage right on the south fork of the Shenandoah River. It was clean and comfortable and we loved passing time sitting on the screened in porch. I enjoyed floating on the river with the provided tubes and kayaks. The kitchen is well provisioned for making almost anything. We would definitely stay here again

Tony, Thank you for your comment. A good star rating would be all 5 stars colored not the one to the far left. If you wanted to give us a better rating as I know that isn’t very clear you may change it anytime. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay, thank you, Jan

Matt: Thanks so much for taking the time to write an awesome response! Although things slow down in the winter, there is still plenty of things to do and see at Sweetwater. Lots of good hiking trails and places to visit in the area. I hope you and your wonderful family can make it back in the warmer weather. Warm regards - Jan and John

Great cabin, excellent owners

They have stocked this cabins with SO much you really feel right at home and should be all ready to quickly settle in to relaxing right on the river, and get your firepit lit :) our toddler absolutely loved it too and she did great sleeping in the rooms again (this is our third or fourth time i think renting this cabin) and the outlets in there are the new kind that don’t need outlet protectors!!

Fantastic River Front Vacation

My husband and I were very impressed with the house, the property setting and all the admendities. The kitchen is well stocked and laid out very functionally. FINALLY, a rental with comfortable beds! The screened in porch is also amazing!! The sounds of the running water and views are so peaceful and soothing! We would rent here again for sure!

Beautiful and relaxing.

We wanted weekend to unplug and relax and what a way to do it! The cottage is beautifully renovated and right in the river! Our host even left us some surprises for a birthday we were celebrating. It was such a nice touch.

Great Summer Vacation Spot!

We had a fantastic time at the cottage! The cottage was even better than the pictures show. We truly enjoyed our time on the river...very peaceful location yet it's near great attractions. The owners were very easy to work with and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. It is very hard to find rentals that allow dogs and this place was VERY dog friendly. Our dog loved swimming in the river and hiking in the Shenandoah National Park. A great location for people who love to bring their pets on vacation!

Thank you for your comments! We feel that peoples dogs are too much a part of the family to be excluded from important times when families are together to enjoy each other's company. Dogs are part of the family and should be a part of family vacations! Dogs help to make good memories and we are so glad that you included yours in your plans! Warm regards! Jan and John

Serenity indeed!

What a great weekend with friends and family! If you want to experience the best Virginia has to offer, spend a few days at the Cottage. It truly is a beautiful place! There is plenty to do if you want to keep busy(kayaking, fishing, etc.) or you can simply relax in the shade and enjoy the sounds of nature. I hope to visit again sometime soon!!

Thanks for your response. I am never at a loss for something to do at the cottage; all if it good. We have a saying that "a bad day at the cottage is better than a good day at work". I have yet to find a bad day at the cottage. We look forward to hosting you and your group again very soon! Blessings and warm regards to all!

Not a Moment Wasted

Our experience at this cottage was so wonderful, exactly what my family needed. It was such a beautiful and peaceful place that gave us the space we needed to bond and reconnect. The hosts are very communicative and kind, and went out of their way to be thoughtful toward my family by pulling out the right size life jackets for my kids and even pulling out a kiddie pool for them. We didn’t waste a moment of our trip here and can’t wait to come back.
