Perched on the highest point in the coveted High Bluffs at the Mauna Kea Resort, Hapuna Modern House is a home like no other in Hawai'i. Unlike the common resort-style architecture of heavy woods and granite finishing's so common in the area, the House takes its simple, modern inspiration from the work of Vladimir Ossipof who brought Hawaiian Modern to the islands in the 1960's. Hapuna Modern House provides each of its residents with the finest, most comfortable accommodation fully outfitted with all comforts anticipated. The goal is to “get the house out of the way” so residents may enjoy the views and natural beauty of the tropical volcanic desert. Two-hour drive to Volcano National Park.

As part of the Hapuna Resort at Mauna Kea, residents are a 15-minute walk to world-class golf, tennis and full resort amenities like fine dining, spa services and water sports on either of Conde Nast's “two best beaches in the Western hemisphere.” (*additional fee for full resort access) Returning Guest to Hapuna Modern House, please inquire directly for our HaMoHo Loyalty Discount. While this home offers unique ocean, coastline and mountain views, as with many homes in the Mauna Kea Resort, it's located near the main road. Road noise on the lanai varies depending on weather conditions and traffic patterns.

Five ocean-facing luxury primary king-size bedrooms, two rooms with quiet reading sitting areas, and two with work-from-home ethernet-connected desk areas. All bedroom suites have Minka Aviation ceilings fans, built-in device-charging stations, mirrored closets with solid wood built-in cabinets and zoned Carrier air-conditioning. One of the bedrooms can be configured into two twin beds upon request for a fee.
Five primary ensuite washrooms with double Kohler washbasins, LED make-up cabinet mirrors with built-in electrical GFI plugs, Denca premium solid wood drawers with under-counter LED lighting and Caesarstone countertops, mosaic tile walk-in Kohler showers with handheld extensions and motion-activated Panasonic humidity control fans
Includes the 565 sq.ft. uber king-sized 'Ohana suite with kitchenette, sitting area, work-from-home area, outdoor garden shower and differently abled fully accessible shower and water closet with optional disability supports. This suite includes Extra large bathroom with wide sliding entrance doors, a built-in tiled bench and portable ADA-compliant adjustable chair for bathing in fully accessible walk-in walk-out shower with handheld showerhead, and Sonos speaker with fully adjustable volume for hearing impairment.
