Pines by the Sea - Magical Cambria Retreat with King En-Suite!

Pines by the Sea! Nestled in pines and surrounded by wildlife. Newly rennovated! There is one on site property manager if guests need assistance. Guests enjoy their privacy in the separte house and yard. Manager in duplex for emergangies and does not interact with guests unless required. We use active Ring Cameras outside of property that are in view to guests near the exterior doors to home. There is no garage access, house is a duplex where property manager resides. There is no access in between the main house and the property manager’s duplex unit. Both the main house and duplex have their own private and separate entrances. A $500 fee per broken house rule may apply for non-compliance of guest(s) or the neighbors complain.

Guest Count & Pricing Policy

Our rates are based on the total number of guests reserved, not just the number of nights stayed. Once a reservation is confirmed, the calendar is blocked for that specific group size and prevents us from accepting other bookings that may require higher occupancy.

No refunds are provided for no-shows, late arrivals, early departures, or reductions in guest count after booking, including for holiday or peak-demand dates.

Any disturbance to anyone in the house or broken house rule(s) will result in cancelled reservation and removal from the premises with no refunds. Applicable fees will apply. Thankfully, we have never had to enforce this rule. :-)

Positives: home is located near the Christmas market area, clean, plenty of beds/space for a family.Negatives: You can hear cars driving on the 1Hwy all day so not a quiet area, back door lock is strange and doesn’t feel safe, no washer/dryer, temperature cannot be raised to more than 70 degrees, communication with host during stay was not good, emailed them with a question day of arrival and didn’t receive a response until days later.

Beautiful location

We came into town for our wedding. We enjoyed the home. It's easy to find and convient to shops and the beach. The beds are comfortable and sheets are super soft. The owner was very accommodating to our large party.

Had a great time exploring the areas beaches from motto bay to Big Sur and the elephant seal rookeryHouse was comfortable and not too far from town and beaches . Nice neighborhood for walking

Great house close to shopping

Very comfortable house, super easy check in and great communication from the management. Previous reviews mentioned the house wasn’t stocked well but the management must have corrected that for we had everything we needed and would happily stay in this house again.

Coast vacation

The Ca coast is a beautiful place to vacation in the summer. Cambria has plenty of restaurants and an adequate market. While comfortable and clean I’d recommend this property for shorter not longer visits since there’s no washer and drier and the kitchen is just adequate.

Lovely region. Lots to see and do. Cozy house. Although description of amenities clear, be prepared to bring things like foil, ziplock bags or other storage, napkins, dish towels.

Clean and near to Hearst Castle and Cambria

Our family of four stayed comfortably here for our weekend getaway. It was clean. It was stocked with everything we needed to cook some meals. It was short trip to Hearst Castle. And about 15 min from downtown Cambria. It was so cool to be near some nice diverse hiking trails. We would definitely stay again.

Cozy in Cambria

Christy is a very accommodating host. We had sudden changes in our visit that was not under our control. Christy was able to help my family by letting us prolong our stay We are so grateful for Christy’s kindness and empathy. We would definitely stay there again.

Property was well maintained and beds were super comfortable.Issue was the listing did not mention the stairs to the bedrooms My husband has difficulty walking and uses a walker, so the stairs were a real challenge.This should be mentioned in the listing.

sea and Sunshine

The house was easy to find and convenient to the freeway, Cambria, and the ocean. The living room was comfortable and met all our needs. Everyone enjoyed their bedrooms, but the master bed is spectacular. The contact was prompt to respond to our questions. We found out we didn’t have access to the washer/dryer or the fourth bedroom unless we asked for it in advance. Also, the swimming pool is the community pool and you have to get in the car to get there. We would love to go back, now that we know that we have to ask for these things in advance.

house was clean. host readily available. on a very busy road stairs inside scarey to walk onn not one picture on a wall. no carpet/rugs...not homey at all livingroom sofa extremely uncomfortable kitchen needs updating. new dishes, silverware pots and pans would be nice fan in master bath doesn't work shower whines when using in both bathrooms definetly better places to stay for the same price would not recommend

We have been priced below a motel room for a 3 bedroom home with plenty of amenities. Our home is modestly decorated because too much clutter doesn’t work well in a short term vacation rental. However, no one has ever remarked that it isn’t homey. We have games, books, wall decor, extra comfy KING Size beds in 2 out of the 3 bedrooms (3rd is a Queen). Unfortunately you did not respond to our attempts before, during or after your stay so we had no communication from you at all. Had we extra cleaning expenses after your stay. But we did replace the exhaust fan in the master bath (most people just use the window) and our plumber check the shower and it must have been air in the line and all is fine now. We have been continuing to upgrade our house it it is quite comfy, cozy and homey. We invite you back any time to see how beautiful it is and enjoy the luxurious beds and plush pillows! (As well as our cute wall and shelving decor). :-)

Convenient location

We arrived to 2 deer right behind the backyard fence! The house location was not reveled until we made our final payment…. Probably because it backs up against hwy 1- but it was not too noisy, but would have liked to have known. House is just a few minutes from moonstone beach, downtown Cambria, and about 20 minutes from Morro Bay and Cayucos. Beds were comfortable, and house is pet friendly. If you are planning on staying more than 5 days just know there is not access to a washer/dryer available, so you have to use the laundromat in town. Also the rate is for 2 people, and an additional charge per extra guest per day for no more than 7 total guests will be added to your total as well as a pet fee- so it adds up on the itemized bill.

Releasing the exact address after the final payment is made (which is about 45 days prior to check in date) is their policy, however, there is a pin drop on the map showing the location / cross streets prior to placing your booking request, and you could have sent us a message at any time. We also want to clarify that all of the information you relayed here is clearly described in our listing for full transparency. Please educate yourself on our house details posted on the site or simply send us a message, we will happily reply to any questions regarding the home or location for our potential or actual guests. Not what I expected…several light bulbs were burnt out, experience slow draining bathroom sinks and tub/shower. Mini blinds and window shades needs to be replaced. Suggest bringing own paper goods; provided paper towels and toilet paper were thin and scratchy. Beds were comfortable. Suggest caution when using their seasoning. Opened a packet of crushed red peppers…found a larva moving on our pizza. Overall, property was clean but needs some TLC. We wouldn’t stay there again.

Great place to stay to explore the Central Coast

This house was very clean, the furniture was in excellent shape, the kitchen was well-equipped, and the beds were the most comfortable beds we've stayed in. The property manager was very responsive to any issues that came up and worked to resolve them quickly. The only exception to the house being well-equipped is that there are no laundry facilities here. However, there is a laundromat very close by, though, in Cambria. This is a great house for a family who is looking for a home base to explore the Central Coast. It's located right next to Highway 1, so you can hop right on the road to explore other communities in addition to being able to see all that Cambria offers. You will hear some occasional highway noise from the house, but it didn't interfere with sleeping. If you're looking to work remotely (as we did), plan on working on the dining room table. or bring a lap desk for one of the bedrooms. The view of the ocean in the listing photos is just a short drive (5 min) from the house. There are several beautiful places to see the ocean and a great beach at Moonstone beach, and all of these are very close.

Cambria est une jolie petite localité prêt de la mer et au sud de Big Sur. Toutefois, cette maison est prête de la route principale et bruyante. Pour le prix, nous avons été surpris se constater que beaucoup d’items de bases étant manquant (mouchoirs, liquide à vaisselle, serviette à vaisselle, etc). Un avis précédent mentionnait ceci mais nous n’avions pas remarqué. Bien que ceci a été communiqué à la propriétaire dès le départ, aucune correction n’a été apporté. Par ailleurs, certains items sont disponible en quantité restreinte (ex.: papier de toilette). La propreté était passable. Beaucoup de poiles de chien sur les divans et sous les lits. Finalement, l’affiche mentionnait l’accès à une piscine. Aucune piscine n’est présente sur la propriété et aucune instruction concernant une piscine commune quelconque. Donc dans son ensemble, ce n’est pas un mauvais endroit, mais trop dispendieux pour la qualité et l’emplacement de la location.
