Tinker House and Tinker House Cottage

A homey atmosphere makes this restored Victorian home a true retreat, and the lovely accompanying cottage adds more space and amenities for everyone to enjoy! Period pieces and antiques set the stage for this unique getaway, though it's still family-friendly enough to bring your entire group. Both the home and the cottage feature a full kitchen with a dishwasher, so the cooks of the group will be satisfied no matter which location they choose. Each home also features a private washer/dryer, so guests will be able to pack light. Two desk workplaces in the Tinker House, one in the open space and one in a bedroom, make it easy to finish up remote work or schooling during your stay. Enjoy a private pool table and air hockey table in the Tinker House Cottage, or play a DVD from the Tinker House's DVD library.

Child-friendly items include a Pack 'n Play, outlet covers, age-appropriate dinnerware, games, books, and toys. Two beach chairs and beach towels will make your adventures more comfortable.

Guests will be staying conveniently close to Pacific Avenue so that you can take advantage of nearby Long Beach amenities. Come relax in this set of lovely homes for a relaxing retreat by the sea.

Need less room? Tinker House and Tinker House Cottage can be rented separately as their own individual homes, Tinker House and Tinker House Cottage.

THINGS TO KNOW
Dogs are only allowed in the cottage and not in the main house.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 8 vehicles.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 21 years of age to book. Guests under 21 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.

Ten members of our family just finished a five day stay at this location.  Lets start with some positives;  Location, Location, Location; less than a ten minute walk to the edge of the Ocean or downtown.  Five minutes to have our bikes on the Discovery Trail. Lots of board games to use, along with kites for the beach. Lots of parking out front, sleeping accommodations for 14 if you have both houses like we did.  Now, some things that we felt could have been better: * The refrigerator and dishwasher both leaking; water dispenser and ice maker didn’t work* Had to disinfect the washer before using it. * One of the upstairs bedrooms had a strong, unpleasant odor; we had to leave the door closed. * Dirty windows, holes in upstairs screens, damp and dirty carpets, and filthy window coverings. * Outdoor Stairs lacked safety skids—very unsafe. * Yellow residue around ceiling lights. * The microwave turntable didn’t fit properly, and the unit wobbled. * Dusty shelves, dirty dustpan, and filthy window sills. * Deck was hazardous—raw wood with splinters, uneven new boards-trip hazards, rusting metal, and a missing rail. * Shower window broken; dishwasher face peeling. * Broken smoker, rusted table, not enough chairs for the second table. * The newer barbecues already dirty and molding. * Broken paver stepthis property was poorly maintained, unclean, and had hazards in several areas. This establishment charges a premium price, but the property is not in premium place

Showing its age, but a lovely stay

My real estate team stays here every year for our annual retreat. It's an adorable property with everything you need for a fun stay at the beach, and very idyllically located. Walk to the beach, walk to town, walk to the playground and ball fields. Walk to Scoopers and get an enormous triple scoop waffle bowl to share with the whole family!

Beds were comfortable. Great big room for games. TV’s were easy to use. Internet was excellent. Some dishes and pans had to be rewashed. Older homes with lots of quirks, but could be figured out or when we called the manager, she was the best!!! Nice neighborhood.

Great for Large Groups

Lots of bedrooms and bathrooms, dishes, tables, chairs--everything you might need. Very amply supplied. Though close to town, feels private. Nice walk to the beach through the dunes. Everyone loved it. Will be back for our next family reunion.

Tinker house and cottage

We used both houses on the property. Tinker house is definitely the nicer of the 2 but the cottage has more room to gather. We had a large group with multiple kids. They loved the air hockey table. All in all our group had a great time.

Lovely location for a family reunion

The property caters to all ages and provides a large welcoming area for gathering. The two homes are well equipped and clean. The older home is beautifully decorated with antiques.

Great set up for a large family

Main house is very cool and has lots of antiques. Kitchen is small. If you rent both houses the guest house is great for getting togethers!

Perfect Family Beach Vacation

These two houses were perfect to accommodate our extended family. We had so much fun. Close to the beach—any easy walk—good for games and family together time, and such a beautiful property. We already want to come back!

Great for a big group!

Excellent spaces for a big group to gather or find some private time for yourself. We had a group of 13 and it never felt cramped. Short walk to the beach or to town. Definitely recommend it!

We rented the Tinker house and the Tinker cottage for a group of our car club members, It was a great time. We loved having the large open area in the cottage, We had dinner, played board games and enjoyed the pool table and the other table games. Everyone had a wonderful time. We had a couple of hick ups but they were resolved quickly. We will rent them again the next time we plan a beach trip.

Cute Victorian home and cottage

Clean and attractively decorated beach home and cottage in a great location for access to the beach and the shops. Our real estate team stayed for a couple days retreat, and had a lovely time. The kitchens were decently stocked with basic spices and plenty of utensils, however the propane tank was empty so we had to take it to be replaced. The temperature in the homes was quite warm at night no matter what the thermostat was set to, so we had the windows open much of the time. Will definitely keep this property in mind for future return visits.

The property was very clean. There were more than enough toiletries and kitchen utensils and dishes. It was not a far walk from the beach and was very quiet and relaxing.. However, there were many broken things in the home and the grounds, including the firepit were not well maintained.

Great place for extended family

This place is great for a large family gathering with kids and adults. The house facing toward the beach is perfect for the older adults. The one behind it is perfect for those with kids and for everyone to gather, with a big open kitchen, tables to eat at, pool table and other games and a seating and tv area.

Stay during Kite Festival
