Chatterbox. An Island Home in the Heart of Harbour Island.

Chatterbox is located in the heart of Dunmore Town. Built in the late 1800's by the island's first contractor, it was fully renovated in 2012, making it a historic house with modern amenities. It is a three bedroom (two bedrooms with queen size beds, one bedroom with two double beds), two bath home with wood floors, comfortable furniture, a cook's kitchen and lots of charm. A second floor patio and widow's walk offer stunning sunset views. A covered terrace on the first floor for entertaining or just relaxing as well as a porch swing on the front patio to enjoy the island breeze.

Literally steps away from the grocery store, bakery and deli, nothing is out of reach. The pink sand beach is a short walk away and golf carts are available for hire for exploring the island. Bone fishing, deep sea fishing, SCUBA diving and snorkeling are all easily accessible services!

Guests can enjoy the home’s many amenities including luxury bedding and linens, Wi-fi, cable tv, and safe. The home is equipped with a generator. There is a state of the art home theater system with professional sound bar. There is also a home office space that features multifunctional wireless printer, scanner and copier and all essential office supplies.

Daily light housekeeping is provided upon request except on Sundays and holidays. For the convenience of guests, golf cart parking is located securely on property.

Just spent an amazing week at Chatterbox with our family of four. The house is darling and was the perfect size for us. We loved to watch to comings and goings of Pigly Wigly from the front porch and the walkability to the bay. The house is situated in the heart of everything. The trip to the beach is walkable but quick in a golf cart. Two days were very windy at the beach so we grabbed some sandwiches from across the street at Dunmore Deli and hung out on the balcony and widow’s walk. Great view from up there! Thank you to our hosts Nalini and Kim!

Cutest house in town!

Loved our stay at chatterbox! Great location, walking distance to the bay side restaurants & shops. Short golf cart ride to beach. Juanita was very helpful, how wonderful coming home to a clean house every day! Will definitely be back

First visit to Harbour Island

The ultimate beach house! Beautifully decorated, yet comfortable (think sandy feet). Plenty of space for 4 adults and 2 children, and conveniently located right next to the grocery store, liquor store, a restaurant, and golf cart rentals. Our family fell in love with the island on this trip and cannot wait to visit again! Thank you for such an amazing stay!

Chatterbox is charming and beautifully decorated with all the amenities needed for a family vacation. Lovely outdoor spaces and a fully equipped kitchen. Great outdoor shower. Appreciated the Matouk linens. And a location convenient to everything. Would definitely stay here again!

Great Location

For those looking to be just steps from stores and a short walk to the best bar and restaurant on the island, this house is a great choice! We particularly enjoyed hanging out on the upper deck - and there was enough room for us all to spread out. Pink Sands is a very short ride away. The property manager was very helpful and responsive and we really appreciated her!

Chatterbox is darling!

My family absolutely loved our week stay in Chatterbox. The house is so cool - old, full of charm, and lovely decor. Plenty of space for my family of 5. My 3 girls loved their upstairs bedrooms. We loved the location - directly across the street from the grocery store, an easy golf cart ride to the beach, and a block away from Daddy D's :)

Such a cute house!

My family and I absolutely loved this property! The house is clean and well-kept, and the property owners and property managers have thought of everything. The house included everything we needed for the beach (e.g., beach towels, beach chairs, cooler, sunscreen, beach bags, beach hats). It also has surround sound (even in the outdoor areas). Daily housekeeping and super accessible property managers made this the perfect stay.

Exceptionally charming and elegant home

It was a pleasure to stay in this exceptionally charming and elegant home to celebrate and create special memories. We loved having drinks and snacks on the stunning balconies and large widow’s walk with spectacular views. The kitchen is fully equipped with modern and professional appliances. Extremely friendly daily room service and the on call local staff does all laundry, shopping and anything we needed nearly instantly. Steps away from shopping, cafés and restaurants. We had an absolutely fantastic time and are definitely coming back.

Everything went perfect. The house is a beautiful and extremely well laid out cottage with a very cheerful vibe. It is pretty convenient to be right next to the grocery too. The caretakers are wonderful and having access to a washer and dryer really makes things handy. Highly recommended.

Beautiful villa

Chatterbox is a beautiful well kept house. It's ideally and centrally located; everything is within walking distance. It's close to the beach, supermarket, wine and liquor stores, top restaurants, bakeries and local conch and fish shacks. Service was super and communication channels with the host was excellent. No question was too insignificant to answer. The house was clean and fully furnished with top of the line appliances and amenities. We will definitely be back!

Loved it!

Chatterbox is charming! The beds were comfortable with luxury linens. The kitchen was well-equipped with an espresso machine, blender, serving dishes, linens, to-go cups, anything you could want. We spent a lot of time in the outdoor spaces…coffee on the roof and cocktails on the side porch. The house is beautifully & thoughtfully decorated. The location was convenient to everything, especially The Pigly Wigly. We felt safe and would definitely rent again and recommend to friends!

Heaven on Briland

We just returned from our week on Harbour Island and Chatterbox was the perfect place for our family vacation! The decor is perfect and the location was ideal for our family - in the center of everything, yet a 5 minute golf cart ride to the beach. We have three young children and the ability to walk across the street to the Pigly Wigly to pick up whatever we needed or down the street for a bottle of wine was wonderful. This is definitely a destination for people who like to be "in the mix," not secluded (always our preference when we stay anywhere). We are already planning our next trip. Thank you for having us!

Could use a good cleaning

I rented Chatterbox because of the on line photos. While Trish Becker did a wonderful job with remodel and decor, the property is in need of TLC both inside and out. This property is under new ownership and could possibly have something to do with up keep. Daily house keeping is included and only came one time the entire week. If I return to Harbour Island there are other properties I would consider.

Disappointment is an understatement!

Everything from deferred maintenance (too much to mention) to dirty areas (front patio, floor & floor coverings, upholstery, linens, etc) and devoid of basic necessities (flashlights, candles, dinner knives, napkins, proper cooking utensils, full sets of pots & pans, etc.) this property needs serious improvement! While the property has old world cottage charm, this feature alone does not make up for the overall deficiencies and lack of owner accountability. Chattterbox was a huge disappointment to say the least!

probably very cute once

We rented this vintage cottage going by the photos, description and previous reviews. I'm sure the cottage was really cute when it was first renovated but it needs a LOT of TLC. Linens were dingy upholstery was stained and there was an overall grime and smell to the place. We had a tremendous roof and window leak during one of the rain showers. We checked out a day early and contacted the house manager and owner who assured me they would remedy the situation immediately and I trust they have. I would get assurance that these things have been taken care of before renting this house. The location is directly in front of the Pigly Wiggly which can be busy during the day so if you are looking for a quiet location this is not the spot.

House in Disrepair - Worn and Dirty

In 2021, my family had an incredible stay at this property. The house was incredibly well kept. When we returned in June 2023, we were disappointed to find that the house was under new ownership and had not been maintained. The house was covered in mildew, and all of the furniture was stained (even the bedding). There was a crib and trash from the previous renters on the front porch, not to mention a broken fridge in the backyard. We were told the upstairs porch could not be used due to ants. The wifi nor music system was working. There were no complete sets of drinkware (e.g., coffee mugs, wine glasses). Some of the outside furniture was broken. Our visit came to an end after just 24 hours. During our first night in the house, there was a storm. There were leaks everywhere - both bedrooms upstairs, the hallway upstairs, and the living room downstairs. And there was mold / mildew and separating wood that suggested these were not new leaks. We used nearly every clean towel and beach towel in the house to mop up water. The worst was the upstairs bedroom with double beds. The water was rushing through the windows displaying two of our family that night. We reported this incident and checked out the next day. Lastly, the host was totally unresponsive. I initiated contact the day prior to our check-in. The day of our check-in, I messaged her two or three times and did not get a response. During the storm, I called and messaged - no answer. Even VRBO could not get in contact.

We arrived at the property and at first everything seemed fine. Unfortunately, we quickly noticed several important issues.First, the cleanliness was not acceptable. There were insects in the drawers when we opened them and also insects in the sink. The drawers were completely messy and disorganized. The oven was extremely dirty, with fries and leftover food from previous guests still inside. The refrigerator was also dirty.There was also rust on the shower poles. We have stayed in many rent villa over the years, but this was by far the dirtiest and most disorganized one we have experienced.In addition, when we arrived the water was barely working. I asked the person in charge about it and was told that it was normal. About 15 minutes later, there was no water at all. This situation lasted for more than 24 hours.We had no access to water for the toilets, showers, or even to wash our hands. Under these conditions it was impossible for us to stay, and we had to move out.
