Private unit in a lovely open oasis of a yard with fruiting trees and flowering shrubs. Has its own dedicated serene yard space with a picnic table bench and grill for outside enjoyment. It also has its own dedicated parking next to the unit. Property is conveniently close to everything in Hilo, about a 10-minute drive to Prince Kuhio Mall, Hilo Farmers Market, and the airport. Walking distance to University of Hawaii - Hilo. Wonderful location with safe and clean environment. WiFi available!

Week in Hilo

We opted to stay in Hilo rather than the other side of the island where there are many resorts and more traffic. We had breakfast at the VRBO and then did fun day trips all over the island. The VRBO was clean, quiet and comfortable. We appreciated the reserved parking spot and option to do laundry. Shopping at Safeway and Walmart was convenient. We also really enjoyed the Hilo farmer's market.

A quiet, very clean and well stocked abode. Tulpe quickly answered my question about washing dishes

We visited Hawaii National Volcano Park, Punalu’u Black Sand Beach, Rainbow Falls, Kaumana Cave, Hawaiian Botanical Gardens and strolled through the Wailoa River State Park. Wishing we had planned an extra day to visit!

Home away from home

Puakenikeni Hale was comfortable, clean, safe and close to everywhere that we needed to be. Tulpe communicated well and responded quickly to any questions we had. It’s a great place to stay in Hilo!

Good location. Should clarify laundry as to whether it is part of package. Done amenities like beach towels, extra blanket and small sharp knives would be good

Peaceful Hilo

Peaceful, quiet and beautiful. I enjoyed it so much. The garden was so nice to look at every day while drinking coffee and playing with the “sweetest” cat Intu! I loved the stay and would definitely come back.

Hilo stay

The property is lovely! Very quiet! Easy to check in and everything was as described, clean and well equipped! Close to downtown Hilo, shopping, very central to everything.

Guests have a kitchen to store, prepare and cook food. The kitchen equipped with a stove, a sink with hot and cold running water, a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, rice cooker, and cookware.

Free parking and WiFi.
