Welcome to Blue Heron Lake Home, located on Lake Wausau. Perfect location for both winter and summer fun! In winter; snowshoe or snowmobile right from the backyard! In summer; boat & kayak around the lake!

This 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath ranch style home located on Lake Wausau in Schofield is just minutes from downtown Wausau and the Granite Peak Ski Hill. This home can accommodate up to 10 people making it perfect for a family or group of friends. Three bedrooms upstairs can sleep a total of 8 people - one king size bed, one queen size bed, and two sets of twin bunk beds. Upstairs living area has large south-facing windows, letting in lots of sunshine and warmth in the Winter afternoons. The 2-car heated garage is also great in Winter! There is room for 2 additional cars in the driveway.

Lower level of the home is set up for entertaining! Xbox One, Playstation 4, ROM-based Atari and Sega Genesis with all of your old school classics available on two 50" Smart TVs. Foosball table! Board games, puzzles, video games and lending library all included! Large wet bar with full size refrigerator, wine cooler, kegerator, and it's own 50" Smart TV. Large dining area with table that can seat 6 right next to the bar. The adjoining lower level living room has a wood burning fireplace and 75" Smart TV for cozy nights indoors. Lower level couch is a sofa sleeper that can accommodate two additional guests, for a total of 10!

Yoga and a session in the lower-level sauna are the perfect way to start the day.

Heading outside, there is a large deck off the main level overlooking the lake - perfect for sipping coffee in the mornings. The large lower level patio has a table and chairs and a gas grill for outdoor dining. Go down a few stairs and you'll find a large brick patio and fireplace just feet from the lakeshore! Have a boat? No worries, tie up to one of two private docks! Great for fishing too! Included with rental is use of two kayaks and two canoes to go explore the lake. (Please note: Due to low water flow in the area, swimming is not advisable due to weeds, but there is a perfect swimming beach at the park one block away)

Blazing fast Wi-Fi included along with Netflix included on all Smart TV's.

Lockbox for 24-hour check-in available.

Kitchen is fully stocked for all cooking needs including a pizza maker, blender, pots & pans, Crock-Pot, air fryer, Insta-Pot, Waffle maker, Kuerig, 12-cup coffee maker and French press.

Washer and Dryer available for use as well as an iron and ironing board.

Linens, shampoos and soaps are all included.

Summer Notes: We offer a 22’ pontoon for rent to our guests. There is a per day fee for the pontoon in addition to your nightly rental. Please message us for further details.

This house was perfect for a weekend away. I stayed there with some friends after a race and we loved it! The sauna was wonderful and the house was clean and well taken care of. Quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors. Plenty of room to relax inside or outside.

Amazing Time Right on Lake Wausau!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this beautiful home! The owners were incredibly thoughtful & accommodating! They went above & beyond for us during our stay! The home is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need, and they have so many amenities! It’s the perfect place on the lake! Highly recommend!!!

Excellent Family Vacation

Hot tub, sauna, toys, and video games. Perfect fit for a three generation family vacation. We rented the pontoon also and enjoyed riding in the boat and swimming off the sandbars. We also threw some casts off the dock and caught many panfish and even a northern pike! Our kids (3 & 4) slept well in the bunk bed room and enjoyed all the toys. We will definitely book again!

Annual Golf Trip

For the 19th year our group of guys got together for our annual golf trip which was in Stevens Point this year. We choose to be 30 minutes away from SP because of this property. A wonderful mix of ‘close enough’ but feels like you’re out on the edge of the lake by yourself. The home is well kept, well appointed and includes all the things a group of 30 and 40yr olds trying to relive the good ole days could want and then some (we all have younger kids and agreed this is a great place for families as well). The owners were easy to work with and quick to respond to a few questions we had. Great place, will be on our ‘run it back’ list for future trips.

Great family vacation

The house was the perfect location for our family with lots of restaurants and playgrounds close by. We also did the boat rental and had so much fun exploring the waterways and finding sandbars for swimming. We were shocked no mosquitoes in the evenings! Property was clean with lots of fun amenities for us including sauna and hot tub. And the kids enjoyed all the toys! Lovely vacation home!

Needs some improvements

The overall scheduling and check-in was smooth. Upon arrival we noticed lots of garbage left from the previous guests. We also noticed the patio door downstairs never locked and we had to use a bar to secure it which I didn't feel secure at all. The master bed was very uncomfortable and caused severe back pain. We also had an issue of ants. Night 1 the ants were all over the lower level and bar. We notfied the owner and they were out that same day and she said it was from the previous guest. After rain the 3rd night the ants were much worse. I notified the owner again and some of my family left early because of this. There is also a huge gap in the flooring I would stub my toe on and injured myself. There is no immediate fix so I didn't notify the owner as you can see they were updating the floors but left a 1 inch gap in a high traffic area. After day 1 we noticed our socks were black from the floors even tho it was just cleaned. The toilet downstairs isn't secure and rocks as you attempt to stand up. The hot tub was good but not hot only luke warm. As I said room for improvement. Fishing was fun and the location was good.

Wisconsin Wonderland Trip

For the second straight Summer vacation in Wisconsin and the Hosts did not disappoint. The house was beautiful and located in an easy to access location on the lake. The property was fully stocked with everything we would need and much more. The hosts provided everything needed for entertainment and relaxation. Some highlights of the trip were the excellent fishing from the dock and kayaks as well as the abundance of wildlife. We encountered deer, black squirrels, a groundhog, eagles as well as other birds, and plenty of frogs and turtles. After long days on the lake the hot tub and basement video games were a great end to the day. Thank you Brittany and Bart for the great trip to your beautiful home, The Glotzbachs.

Perfect place for our family.

We had a wonderful time enjoying our evenings together at the house after a long day of skiing at nearby Granite Peak! The extra supplies at the house came in handy. The basement was a fantastic gathering space for us and created lasting memories. Hoping to stay here again!

Tons of Amenities and Thoughtful Touches

Appreciative that the listing was very accurate. So many options available to keep your family entertained - whether outside or in (we got rained out over the weekend and took advantage of the many games). Relaxing week

It was a great week spent on the lake. The views were wonderful, one night we had a thunder storm. The house is large and accommodated several guests no problem. On a quiet street with a large park 1 block away. Large, clean garage easily accommodated our car. Kitchen and bathrooms were very well stocked.

Great Family Get-a-way

This property was perfect for our family to gather and create memories! The house had everything we needed with spacious, open areas inside and out. The view of the lake from the house was spectacular! We enjoyed time together on the lake in the pontoon, fishing, kayaking, and relaxing in the hot tub. There were corn hole competitions, resting in the hammock, and roasting marshmallows around the campfire near the water. There is something for everyone to enjoy! Bart and Brittany added those "little touches" that made our stay a truly special experience and responded to any questions very timely. I highly recommend them and this location!

Great get away spot for rest and relaxation!

This home is beautiful and has great access to the lake. Plenty of amenities to keep you busy, and the perfect backyard for relaxing and kicking back. The house has everything you will need and has been updated throughout. Kayaks, canoe, bicycles, and a pontoon rental if you choose to use it. Thank you for sharing your space with us.
