Separate family room with kitchenette downstairs. Jacuzzi tub in main bath, and extensive granite & marble throughout. Lake & falls community to kayak and canoe or fish. Endless hiking trails. 6 miles to West Jefferson shopping, 7 miles to the Parkway, 30 min. to Boone, and 40 min. Grandfather Mountain, and 30 min. to the revitalized North Wilkesboro Speedway! Perfect for enjoying the New River activities & the Frescoes or Tweetsie Railroad. TV's set up for Apple and Roku. Great Internet for working on location with even a printer. 2 family rooms and 2 kitchens! Awesome lighted firepit area. Spectacular views. This is a dream destination!

Great location for my niece’s wedding at The Barn venue. My son, his wife, and their son had the downstairs and it was a perfect fit for them with us upstairs. Would highly recommend it. Clean with nice amenities. Close to downtown West Jefferson.

Authentic mountain charm!

After honeymooning in W Jefferson 16+ yrs ago, we've been coming back ever since for our tree. Best accomodations yet! Well apportioned enough for holiday baking!

Daughter’s Wedding a Wonderful Success. Great Place.

Loved the place. So cute. Everything was amazing. We just didn’t realize there were no doors on the master bedroom. That would have been nice. But overall amazing. Unbelievable views!!!!

Family trip

We came to the mountains for a little bit of hiking, some rafting, and shopping. All tasks were accomplished by having a good relaxing place to come back to at the end of the day. The house has great views and is very comfortable.

Lovely house. Beautiful view.

The two decks overlooking the mountains are lovely and the hot tub is very nice (great sunrise from the hot tub). The house is nicely appointed with so many things you might want - cards/board games/cornhole, two single cup coffee makers, an awesome kitchen range (nothing like cooking in a kitchen with mountain views!), two full size fridges, lots of seating options, blankets for getting cozy, I could go on! Loved that it is only 15 min from West Jefferson which is a surprising great little town. The host is so helpful and responsive to top it all off!

2023 Girls Trip

The listing for this property doesn't do it justice! So nice, so clean... the space was perfect for 4-5 friends. The hot tub was very nice and we spent a lot of time doing crafts at the downstairs table. The view was beautiful at sunset and we had everything we needed. Deborah was so nice and helpful! The property was only about 10 minutes from Walmart too, so we were able to go get snacks! Loved our stay!

Great cabin

This cabin had everything we needed to have a great week. We spent a lot of time on the deck overlooking the mountains. It was clean and communication was great, making check in easy.

Beautiful Views

Dancing Bears was a wonderful place to stay. The view is spectacular. The place is clean and well stocked with games, kitchen equipment. This was our second year staying here.

FANTASTIC owner

The only hiccup the entire stay had NOTHING to do with owner but she immediately went out of her way to help correct it and within five minutes even that was taken care of. Truly amazing views and the area is perfect. Thank you for a wonderful anniversary from both of us.

Wonderful property and host. The Hotub was wonderful addition. From coffee to condiments to cleaning supplies all the extras were there .

Family Christmas 2022

The house was beautiful. Exceeded expectations. The hostess was generous in suggestions for local things to enjoy. She also put effort into making sure that the cabin offered family fun with a fire pit ready with s’more sticks , fire starter and fresh wood. Board games and card games were available too. All the latest in technology to use in wifi and internet tv for streaming our favorites. The outside back deck had a large outside heater for use. The cabin was decorated beautifully for Christmas with a cabin theme Christmas tree and the cutest snow villages above cabinets. The house again was beautiful, spacious tastefully decorated and very clean.

Lovely cottage

Perfect layout for age ranges. Separate living areas make it easy for different activities. It was our second time here. Last year we did it with 3 people. This time with 8. Great location 10 mins from West Jefferson downtown. Love this place and the owners are super responsive!

EXCEPTIONAL IN EVERY WAY

If I could give twenty stars I would for this property. Deborah was top notch in providing information about the cabin and details as well as checking in while we were there to ensure all was well. I've stayed at quite a few cabins in the mountains and this is and will always be my favorite. It hit all the marks at a very high level! The attention to detail in the cabin was spot on and the little personal touches made us feel at home. The kitchen is completely stocked and just gorgeous! There are no words for the sunrise other than to just be still and savor every moment you have at Dancing Bears! Thank you again Deborah for such a wonderful weekend!

Amazing and peaceful

Mrs. Deborah Frederick was very helpful with any questions we had for her. The place is lovely and you feel like you are by yourself out there even tho you have neighbors. You are 10 mins from west Jefferson and 30 mins from Boone. In the future we will rent from her again. By the way we found out we live near her home and we left my wife's jacket and she brought it to us. I recommend this place to everyone.

Heavenly paradise

This rental experience was flawless. Our initial reservation was for 3 nights, but we decided that we wanted to try to extend our stay for additional nights. In a manner of moments, our request to extend our stay was confirmed. The property is lovely, the accommodations are inviting and comfortable, and we could not have chosen a better property or property owners.

Outback Vibes

Awesome cottage. Plenty of space and all the modern conveniences in a rustic looking cabin. You might want to ha e 4WD if there is rain, since dirt roads to get there are a little treacherous. But is definitely worth the adventure.

Charming cabin

The cabin was very clean and has a great view. The dual kitchen/living areas could work really good for some families. The only negative is the stairwell is extremely narrow and could be troublesome for elderly or small children.

Summer Refreshment

Beautiful property, perfect for our family of five and the location was great for our mountain itinerary. Close to Zaloo’s canoes and West Jefferson. Kitchen was fantastic for cooking our big breakfast meals and beds were comfortable. Owners were very helpful when we had a question. Loved the decor!

Experiencing the Dawn from the main bed is spectacular! The chef has every possible need but the food itself, complete with an incredible view for preparing memorable meals. Or enjoy the plethora of local restaurants. Enjoy local scenic attractions or relax on the large deck complete with tables for eating outside or corn hole games. The Internet is exceptional if you must squeeze in work time.
