Breathtaking view of Omaha Beach. For vacations with family and friends!

The house is located on the seafront and has a garden. The first floor is raised on a garage. The living room is through and its bow window offers a wide view of the sea; the kitchen is separate. Two bedrooms with a 140cm bed, a large bedroom with four beds that can be used as a games room, another with bunk beds, for a total of ten beds, not counting the toddlers (travel cots and specific equipment), two bathrooms, one of which has a bathtub and two separate toilets.
La Dune welcomes you for holidays with family or friends on a historic site in the heart of the D-Day landing beaches, but not only: you will enjoy a sheltered garden and easy access to the beach, many sports and cultural activities await you nearby.
We have taken care of the equipment of the house for a carefree holiday: games and books for young and old, games and outdoor furniture, barbecue...
The cottage has been classified *** since June 2024.
We regret that we cannot accommodate your pets. Please note that linen and cleaning packages are not included in the prices of the night (€150 per stay).

Excellent location across from Omaha Beach, walking distance to monument and restaurants. Comfortable house well stocked kitchen. Hosts were very helpful and accesible.

The hosts were wonderful and greeted us at the property. This is a wonderful location for a beach getaway or visiting the D Day sights as it is right in the center of Omaha beach. It was very clean and comfortable with great views. You can tell the owners take pride in their accommodations. Beds were good and the water pressure was amazing for showering. Well stocked kitchen that had everything we needed.

We had a very good week here; the surroundings are beautiful and the location is excellent as well. Close to the heart of D-Day history, so we learned a great deal. Furthermore, there is a large garden surrounding the house where you can enjoy spending time, and the sea view from the house is truly stunning! Thanks for the beautiful memories!

What a wonderful place - a simply breathtaking view of Omaha Beach - close to so many of the major WWII museums and memorials - great neighborhood restaurants and others that were very close - Sophie and Bruno checked us in and were very generous and helpful in any questions we had - many thanks to them for their generosity!!

We had an absolutely wonderful time. It was so easy to check in as Bruno and Sophie were so accommodating. Staying here was accessible to food locations, Omaha Beach was just within a few steps, it was such a wonderful stay! We would stay again!!

Magnificent Location and Hosts

As a large American Family (2 adults, 6 kids), we were quite nervous about having adequate accommodations in Europe. So when the home owners met us at the house to showcase all the amenities when we checked in, we knew we had made the right choice! Their house is lovely and the location is unbeatable, but their kindness and care was by far the most outstanding part of our trip. We can’t wait to go back!

A well stocked house with everything you need from beach towels, toys and picnic plates & cups to tumble drier, dishwasher and washing machine! Everything has been thought of and provided. We have just returned from 12 wonderfully relaxing days at this house and will definitely return. We wandered the coastline, watched the world go by through the window and explored on foot, there was always something to see and do. We liked that we didn’t need to be in the car everyday! We loved the history and the importance of Omaha Beach and it was interesting to explore the local area and its significance in World War 2 too. Our grandchildren loved that we were just across the road from the sandy beach and we spent every day there. They loved the rock pool directly opposite, finding crabs and splashing about safely in the water pools that form when the tide went out. They had lots of freedom and fun. The tiny coci-market shop in the village was useful but we travelled back to the large supermarkets in Bayeux for bulk shopping once or twice. Our hosts were responsive and informative. It was great that they showed us around on arrival. It was a shame that the washing machine on the kitchen level wasn’t working as it meant lugging washing up and down the basement stairs. The TV wasn’t working either but it didn’t bother us. These were minor issues that weren’t a problem - we were there for beach fun and exploring and we got that in bucket loads as we hoped

We had a lovely staff at La dune. The hosts were extremely helpful and friendly. Communication was brilliant and really easy. The location directly opposite the beach and a short walk to the restaurants too was perfect. The house was tidy and suited all our needs with lots of space too. Even lots of toys for my little one to play with too. Highly recommend for a seaside break as well as the ideal location to visit the D-Day landings sites. Within Omaha beach itself you are in the very centre making it easy to get to any of the sites along the beach you want to visit.

Unforgettable week by the sea - thank you

My family had an amazing time staying at this house just steps away from the sand of Omaha Beach. The owners were friendly and welcoming. The view of the beach and the ability to walk over to it whenever we wanted (the sunset was almost 11 pm in late June when we went) make this a location a true plus. We cooked most meals at the house and used the large dining room looking out to the sea. There are a few restaurants only 10-15 minutes walk away. While in the area we also took a WWII tour of Omaha and Gold Beach and it helped us appreciate it more to be able to come back to the house and the beach and further reflect first-hand on the history that had taken place in 1944.

Amazing visit

This was our first time to Normandy and we arrived via ferry at Cherbourg. We rented a car and drove to the home. We had great communication with the family to coordinate our arrival and they were there to greet us which was lovely. They shared the history of the home as well as shared some places to eat nearby.We had booked a guide to tour the D-day sites who picked us up at the house so that was great as well. When we departed we drove to Caen and dropped off the car as that was the nearest car rental location which was conveniently located next to the train station so we hoped on a train to Paris to continue our journey.The house itself was lovely with 4 bedrooms and the most amazing view of Omaha Beech as we were literally across the street from the beach and we could walk down the street to an assortment of restaurants.

We stayed at La Dune this past July to immerse ourselves in WWII history, and the location couldn’t have been better—just steps from Omaha Beach, with stunning panoramic views that we truly loved. That aspect of the stay was a highlight, along with the historical immersion the area offers.Bruno was friendly and easy to communicate with. Before our arrival, I asked for recommendations, and we were sent a helpful list of local restaurants and places to visit.That said, there were a few issues we encountered. The house had a persistent musty smell, which was difficult to ignore. Fortunately, the cool weather allowed us to keep the windows open for ventilation. We also found that some of the dishes—particularly the cups and glasses—were not clean, so we had to wash the ones we wanted to use.Additionally, the communication around house rules could have been clearer. The welcome book is entirely in French, which made it challenging to understand all the expectations. Sophie did walk us through many of the rules at check-in, but during check-out, she seemed frustrated that we hadn’t stripped the beds—a detail we hadn’t been made aware of until that moment, though I did it immediately when asked. She also appeared irritated that our children used extra blankets from the other beds.Overall, aside from those issues, the property itself was fine and the location made for a memorable experience.

Cette maison a une très belle vue sur la mer et est idéalement placée pour un séjour plage. Les hôtes étaient charmants. Cependant, la maison était vraiment très sale (moisissures dans le frigo, baie vitrée à nettoyer, salle de bain, toiles d'araignée...), même si cela était lié à des problèmes de prestations avec leur conciergerie et qu'ils sont venus nettoyer de façon très réactive (nous aurions préféré qu'ils aient vérifié avant).Il n'y avait pas de table ou mobilier de jardin pour profiter de l'extérieur. C'est vraiment dommage...

Nous n’avons pas beaucoup de temps entre le départ des hôtes et l’arrivée des suivants. Nous avons comme d’habitude fait le tour de la maison, constaté par exemple qu’il manquait des serviettes et fait en sorte de pallier cet inconvénient. Nous n’avons effectivement pas vu toutes les salissures que vous mentionnez et nous renouvelons toutes nos excuses pour ces manques, nous en avons fait part à notre conciergerie. En ce qui concerne la table de jardin, vous aviez réservé pour six personnes, annoncé la veille une septième personne (en aviez-vous avisé la plateforme qui collecte la taxe de séjour ?) et le jour de votre départ il y avait huit sièges autour de la table… la table ronde du jardin peut accueillir six personnes, pour nous elle devait suffire ; nous vous avons fourni une table d’appoint pour compléter… Nous vous renouvelons toutes nos excuses pour ces inconvénients, croyez bien que notre volonté est de fournir à nos hôtes les meilleures conditions de séjour.

La maison est superbement située. On n' a qu'à traverser la route pour être sur la plage. Les propriétaires sont adorables et très à l'écoute. Excellent séjour en famille à proximité des sites historiques du Débarquement.Je recommande chaleureusement.

Sehr schön gelegenes Haus direkt am Strand. Traumhafte Aussicht und genug Platz. Auch sehr gut geeignet für Familien. Die Ausstattung ist ausreichend und man kann gemütliche Tage verbringen.

The place to be !

Nous avons choisi la maison de Sophie et Bruno pour notre week-end de Pâques : nous avions beaucoup de critères à la sélection et elle les remplit tous. Le principal c’est quand même la vue du bow-window !!! Nous étions 8 en tout, 2 familles de 4 personnes, l’espace était parfait pour la répartition avec deux salles de bains et deux WC, la literie et le linge de maison sont très correctes. La maison est dans son esprit maison de plage, ce qui lui donne du charme !! Il y a un LV dans la cuisine et plusieurs batteries de cuisine ce qui est très pratique ! Vous êtes idéalement situé à Omaha beach pour visiter de gauche à droite sur la cote sans faire trop de kilomètres. C’est paisible et ressourçant, le quartier est calme ! Vous aimez les longues balades au bord de la mer.. foncez !!PS si vous aimez la lecture alors toutes les bibliothèques sont pleines ! .

Maison face à la mer avec vue incroyable.La maison est idéale pour petits et grands. Tout est présent pour des bonnes vacances, des jeux intérieurs et extérieurs, un Barbecue...Vous n'avez qu'a traverser la route pour être sur la plage.La localisation est idéale pour un séjour sur le thème du débarquement ( pointe du Hoc, cimetières Américains, Allemands... )Merci à Sophie et Bruno pour leur accueil.
