We had an absolutely wonderful time. It was so easy to check in as Bruno and Sophie were so accommodating. Staying here was accessible to food locations, Omaha Beach was just within a few steps, it was such a wonderful stay! We would stay again!!

Magnificent Location and Hosts

As a large American Family (2 adults, 6 kids), we were quite nervous about having adequate accommodations in Europe. So when the home owners met us at the house to showcase all the amenities when we checked in, we knew we had made the right choice! Their house is lovely and the location is unbeatable, but their kindness and care was by far the most outstanding part of our trip. We can’t wait to go back!

Unforgettable week by the sea - thank you

My family had an amazing time staying at this house just steps away from the sand of Omaha Beach. The owners were friendly and welcoming. The view of the beach and the ability to walk over to it whenever we wanted (the sunset was almost 11 pm in late June when we went) make this a location a true plus. We cooked most meals at the house and used the large dining room looking out to the sea. There are a few restaurants only 10-15 minutes walk away. While in the area we also took a WWII tour of Omaha and Gold Beach and it helped us appreciate it more to be able to come back to the house and the beach and further reflect first-hand on the history that had taken place in 1944.

We had a lovely staff at La dune. The hosts were extremely helpful and friendly. Communication was brilliant and really easy. The location directly opposite the beach and a short walk to the restaurants too was perfect. The house was tidy and suited all our needs with lots of space too. Even lots of toys for my little one to play with too. Highly recommend for a seaside break as well as the ideal location to visit the D-Day landings sites. Within Omaha beach itself you are in the very centre making it easy to get to any of the sites along the beach you want to visit.

Amazing visit

This was our first time to Normandy and we arrived via ferry at Cherbourg. We rented a car and drove to the home. We had great communication with the family to coordinate our arrival and they were there to greet us which was lovely. They shared the history of the home as well as shared some places to eat nearby.We had booked a guide to tour the D-day sites who picked us up at the house so that was great as well. When we departed we drove to Caen and dropped off the car as that was the nearest car rental location which was conveniently located next to the train station so we hoped on a train to Paris to continue our journey.The house itself was lovely with 4 bedrooms and the most amazing view of Omaha Beech as we were literally across the street from the beach and we could walk down the street to an assortment of restaurants.

We stayed at La Dune this past July to immerse ourselves in WWII history, and the location couldn’t have been better—just steps from Omaha Beach, with stunning panoramic views that we truly loved. That aspect of the stay was a highlight, along with the historical immersion the area offers.Bruno was friendly and easy to communicate with. Before our arrival, I asked for recommendations, and we were sent a helpful list of local restaurants and places to visit.That said, there were a few issues we encountered. The house had a persistent musty smell, which was difficult to ignore. Fortunately, the cool weather allowed us to keep the windows open for ventilation. We also found that some of the dishes—particularly the cups and glasses—were not clean, so we had to wash the ones we wanted to use.Additionally, the communication around house rules could have been clearer. The welcome book is entirely in French, which made it challenging to understand all the expectations. Sophie did walk us through many of the rules at check-in, but during check-out, she seemed frustrated that we hadn’t stripped the beds—a detail we hadn’t been made aware of until that moment, though I did it immediately when asked. She also appeared irritated that our children used extra blankets from the other beds.Overall, aside from those issues, the property itself was fine and the location made for a memorable experience.

Sehr schön gelegenes Haus direkt am Strand. Traumhafte Aussicht und genug Platz. Auch sehr gut geeignet für Familien. Die Ausstattung ist ausreichend und man kann gemütliche Tage verbringen.

What a wonderful place - a simply breathtaking view of Omaha Beach - close to so many of the major WWII museums and memorials - great neighborhood restaurants and others that were very close - Sophie and Bruno checked us in and were very generous and helpful in any questions we had - many thanks to them for their generosity!!

The place to be !

Nous avons choisi la maison de Sophie et Bruno pour notre week-end de Pâques : nous avions beaucoup de critères à la sélection et elle les remplit tous. Le principal c’est quand même la vue du bow-window !!! Nous étions 8 en tout, 2 familles de 4 personnes, l’espace était parfait pour la répartition avec deux salles de bains et deux WC, la literie et le linge de maison sont très correctes. La maison est dans son esprit maison de plage, ce qui lui donne du charme !! Il y a un LV dans la cuisine et plusieurs batteries de cuisine ce qui est très pratique ! Vous êtes idéalement situé à Omaha beach pour visiter de gauche à droite sur la cote sans faire trop de kilomètres. C’est paisible et ressourçant, le quartier est calme ! Vous aimez les longues balades au bord de la mer.. foncez !!PS si vous aimez la lecture alors toutes les bibliothèques sont pleines ! .

Maison face à la mer avec vue incroyable.La maison est idéale pour petits et grands. Tout est présent pour des bonnes vacances, des jeux intérieurs et extérieurs, un Barbecue...Vous n'avez qu'a traverser la route pour être sur la plage.La localisation est idéale pour un séjour sur le thème du débarquement ( pointe du Hoc, cimetières Américains, Allemands... )Merci à Sophie et Bruno pour leur accueil.
