The location of the cottage is perfect, it's only a short 5 minute walk up the road and across the highway to the restaurant, grocery store, pool, playground, etc. Down to the lake is a tough walk due to the steepness but it's only a 5 minute drive with plenty of parking down at the bottom.
The cottage is on the first street, adjacent the highway so the backyard is the road embankment. Although that means you get no view out the back, it also means decent privacy which the cottages on the other roads don't appear to have. The hot tub was nice but we only used it once.
Beware the beach is rocky, not sandy. You definitely need water shoes to enter the water. The kids had a blast jumping on the water trampoline and getting launched off into the water.
The cottage itself had everything we needed. We were a group of 8 (4 adults, 4 kids under 10) and there was no shortage of dishes, cups, etcs. The ONLY issue we had was a shortage of hot water. Coming back from the pool, the hot water easily ran out after showering just the kids who went in pairs and perhaps 1 adult.
Note, if you're coming in from out of province like we did and not really familiar with these mountain roads, the drive in from the south was sketchy. Single lane each way with no passing, winding and narrow, blind corners, and sheer drop offs on the east side. It was a nerve wracking drive for this prairie girl!
Despite that we had an absolutely amazing time and hope to return!
