Stunning sunsets, gorgeous, spacious home! Clean. Nice deck and views of the lake from inside & out. Lovely decor. Unfortunately not well maintained. Stairway (38 steps) from road to house made up of uneven rotting railroad ties topped by poorly attached 1/4" wall paneling was treacherous! With moisture and leaves on the steps, our feet, the leaves, and the step covers all slipped! I had to drop my suitcase to maintain balance. Steps down from house to lake intact but uneven & had no rails. Indoors, light fixtures to stairway to master suite were disconnected. When we asked where the switch was, were told to move motion-detecting nightlights nearer to the stairs; the lighting would be sufficient. Other 5-bulb fixtures only had 4 light. Table lamps had no knobs to the rotary switches, making them impossible to use. Window blinds were cheap and broken. Furniture was generally very nice, but several chairs and dining room bench were in need of repair. Trash bins were overfilled when we arrived; we were asked to take them out on Monday but only got the notice late Sunday night and I did not want to go up those stairs in the dark to haul them. On most VRBOs we have been given a book or written instructions; this had none. We did get quick responses when we texted the manager. We expected more on such a high-end rental.
