Pretty beach house near URI, Newport

This is a pretty little beach house with beach rights to a small Beach within walking distance ( less than a mile). The small beach near the house is called Ed's Beach. To get to Ed's Beach go out to Waldron avenue and turn right until you get to Worsley and turn right again. Worsley leads right into the parking lot of the beach.

Please note this house is not on the water but very close to the water with beach access rights and parking rights. The house is very convenient to Newport, URI, Quonset point and Narragansett. I do live here in the winters so this isn't a completely empty rental house, with nothing in the closet. I do provide drawer space and space for luggage for my guests. Please understand this isn't a vacant house, and There are items belonging to me in the house. This is not a vacant rental house, so please don't deduct points from the score you give the house in your review based on that.

There is a loft above the master bedroom with two twin beds. It's perfect for children, they love it up there, but it tends to be a little warm because it's adjacent to the attic, despite the fact that the room is cooled by a large ductless unit. I do have fans up there.

The master bedroom itself has a queen bed and beautiful unusual architecture including built-ins and a pointed roof that looks like a star. The second bedroom has a queen size bed and a cot. Each of the two bedrooms has their own ductless air conditioning unit and is very comfortable in hot weather.

The house has been described many times as magical with lots of creative lighting and wide open great room with high beams. The master bedroom is beautiful and unique. The renovated kitchen is beautiful with a granite countertop and a hood over the stove.
*** There's also a tiny house on the property where I stay or another guest might be staying, but the only shared portion of the property is the driveway for parking. Many times I don't even see the guests in my house when I am staying in the tiny house.

Five guest maximum and two car maximum. One car may be parked on the street next to the giant tree almost directly across from the front door, but please don't park on the grass.

Nice Stay

My family and I had a nice stay. The house was clean with plenty of clean bedding and towels. The host was informative and friendly. There is a beach close by, but it is small and rocky (not sandy) without waves, so may not be what some people have in mind. But there are plenty of other options nearby, such as Narragansett. Also close to Newport, and The Cliff Walk and Mansion Tours. We only stayed for 2 nights, but enjoyed our stay.

Staying here felt a bit like visiting a family member's house—there were definitely some charming aspects, but also a few quirks! The place was filled with an abundance of lights. Overall, I didn’t feel the price matched the experience. .

A lovely house in a quiet neighborhood

We loved staying at this lovely house in a quiet neighborhood. The back yard was the perfect place for a quiet morning coffee and also a jovial dinner with the kids. It was close to the beautiful waterside town of Wickford and within a 15/20 minute drive to fabulous beaches in Narragansett. The owner was quick to respond, kind, and very thoughtful.

Like staying at family or friend's house.

The house was very clean. Centrally located. Understanding that the owner lives there and has personal property was fine. Although there was no ability to have dresser or closet space. The lighting in the second bedroom was poor. AC throughout the house was good. The refrigerator was clean and had space available, but no space in the freezer for say, a bag of ice. A counter ice maker is provided but does not produce enough. Also, there is no toaster or toaster oven. The bathroom needs a total make over. Very dated and even rust on the shower curtain rod. My overall assessment of the property is that it was not worth the price. Also, the listing as "pretty beach house" is not close to a beach although decorated as such.

Graduation stay

We booked this property for our daughter graduations. Lynda was very easy to communicate with. House was clean and linens were well stocked and good quality. We honestly only slept here and was out most of our time here. So we didn’t use the amenities of the house. I haven’t stayed in many VRBO , so I was surprised by how much of the owner personal belongings were there. May be this is common.

Quiet neighborhood close to Newport

We stayed at Lynda’s for my friend’s bachelorette weekend. The location was perfect; only 15 mins from downtown Newport. The decor in the home was so pretty with lots of decorative lighting. I would definitely stay here again! Lynda was such a great hostess!

Nice house good location

Nice updated house, plenty of room for a family of 5. Nice size kitchen and living spaces and plenty of lights. Outdoor areas were very nice, deck with fire pit and tables with chairs. Great location, minutes from North Kingstown Beach and Wickford. Drove to Newport and Narragansett.

Amazing vacation

This was probably the most relaxing vacation we’ve ever had and we travel every year. This house is a gem! Lynda was the kindest host and she provided a list of amenities and places to eat so we didn’t have to go searching for restaurants and activities. Every single one of her suggestions was fantastic. The house is on a very quiet street, close to everything you can possibly need. It was very clean and exceeded our expectations. If you are trying to find a place in RI to relax with your family look no further. You won’t be disappointed.

Fabulous stay at a Charming beach cottage in Rhode Island

Lynda was an incredible host with a beautiful home. You can really tell she cares from all the little details. She provided an exhaustive list of activities, restaurants, and places to visit - we actually printed it out and referenced it throughout our stay. We saw so much more of Rhode Island, that we wouldn’t have known about, thanks to her recommendations. Lynda was responsive, but by no means overbearing. We luckily ran into her one morning in the driveway and had a lovely conversation, but otherwise felt as if we had the property all to ourselves. Her home was clean and comfortable with tons of natural light. The outdoor area was an added bonus to relax after a long day of sightseeing. It was in the perfect location - less than 15 minute drive to all major sights, but without the hustle and bustle of staying in Newport. We loved the private beach just a few blocks from her home as well. I would recommend Lynda’s home to anyone, and would definitely stay again. 10/10 experience. Thanks again, Lynda! :)

A few more details could’ve made our stay better

Host notes she lives in the house during the winter but doesn’t mention she lives on property directly next to house the rest of the year (takes away privacy factor a bit), also the outdoor fireplace wasn’t working and that was one selling point for me, there is not room for food in cabinets so I had to use bags our whole stay, loft was too hot for kids to sleep on really hot days, grill area not well maintained, house had just been treated for ants so I was sweeping dead ants every morning, also lots of family pictures and ornamental lights that were turned on we had to figure out. In my opinion our stay was not worth the price I paid.

Unexpected to say the least!

I was surprised by SO MANY personal items everywhere. We’ve stayed in other homes that were occupied but they cleaned areas for us so we didn’t feel like we walked into someone’s home that could show up at any moment. The house had a TON of extension cords running everything. My dad was a fire chief and I’m sure would have had an issue since I normally don’t have an issue had concerns. I wish I could attach photos. We stayed 1 night and left.

Excellent Stay in Beauitful, Quaint Neighborhood!

Our stay at Lynda's place was beyond perfect! Five of us visited for the weekend for a girl's trip. We spent Saturday morning walking down to the nearby beach (Beauitful walk!) to look for shells and spent our afternoons/evenings either out in Newport or hanging out at the house. The house is very easy drive to Newport which was very convenient for us. It was so nice to be able to come back away from the busyness of Newport to relax at night at the house in such a quiet neighborhood. We were sad we weren't able to use the beautiful backyard porch area with the fire pit because when we were at the house it was raining! We will definitely have to be back! Overall the stay was great and the home itself was even more beautiful than the photos show!

Great house and host

The house was very clean and comfortable to stay in. This was a perfect location to stay for the summer with plenty of shops and restaurants around to go to. The check in/check out process was very easy and the host was always was available if needed. I really enjoyed my stay and would recommend this location to anyone else looking for a summer getaway.

Perfect for our family!

The house was perfect for our family - it was cozy and clean with a nice big couch to lounge on, the temperature was nice and cool for us on a hot summer weekend and my daughter loved the loft! She was thrilled there were toys for her to play with and she even slept on the bed up there at night! Lynda was very accommodating with our later arrival time in the evening and the house looked magical with all of the twinkle lights on when we pulled up! She also sent us a wonderful list of things to do/places to eat in the area which was very helpful. We would definitely stay here again!

Fun Girls Weekend

Pretty Beach House is even prettier than the photos! My friends and I had a great time while staying at this property. It was bright, cheerful, and comfortable. We enjoyed the outdoor and indoor spaces at the property. Great location! Close to the beach and Wickford, which is an adorable town with good restaurants. Lynda provided a list of area restaurants and activities. All of her restaurant recommendations were excellent!! Lynda responds quickly to emails and messages, and was a great host. She was at the small house at the property, but we wouldn't have known she was there. Very private, comfortable, and fun! There are many beach themed decorations and some breakable items at a low level and a ladder leading to the sleeping loft, so it might not be the best fit for a family with very small children. However it would be perfectly suitable for a group with older children or just adults. Overall, a great property and a great trip!

Cute, comfy beach cottage

My family and I had a quick stay while we were in town to tour the University of Rhode Island. Our host was very accommodating and welcoming. She gave us a lot of great recommendations for things to do and places to eat in the surrounding area. We only were able to check out a few, but appreciated all of the information.

Such a Great Place

As my 17-year old daughter and I made are way through NE on college tours, I booked this charming home for our stay in Rhode Island. It was perfect for us! It was centrally located and easy to access URI, coastal towns such as Newport and Narragansett, plus the charming Wickford Village. The house is exactly as advertised...plus it is a great place to relax during any down time you have. The owner is amazing...very communicative before and during your stay. Before your stay she provided a wonderful list of ideas for dining and places to visit. We tried several of the restaurants she recommended, and we loved them all! She met us when we arrived and showed us around the property and answered any questions we had. It was like meeting an old friend...she is so welcoming and hospitable. I would highly recommend this listing! :-)

I have a fantastic list of things to do in the area, which includes places to eat and things to do, and contains lots of items for kids.
