Danielle, I want to extend my sincerest apologies for the unpleasant discovery you made on the bathroom door. While I'm uncertain about the origin of the substance, I understand that its presence was unacceptable and not the standard we strive for to ensure the cleanliness of our homes. Please know this has been brought to the attention of all staff to ensure nothing like this is missed again. Feedback of this matter is invaluable to make sure we provide the best service. We're glad you had a great stay! We do sincerely apologize about the rug and sock being missed by our housekeeping team.. we will be bringing this to their attention to make sure they pay closer attention to these items. I wouldn't want to arrive on my vacation to this either. There absolutely should also have been a starter pack of toiletries and bath products left for your stay. Please always call us if these are not present upon your arrival and we would have been happy to send the housekeeper back out to provide the items and touch up these missed items. Again, we apologize as we know you pay a cleaning fee and this is not at all consistent with our normal standards. We want your stay to be as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. We are glad you enjoyed your stay otherwise and we thank you for choosing to stay with VRC. We hope you come stay with us again soon!

We’re sorry to hear that some cleanliness and maintenance items didn’t meet expectations during your stay. This is certainly not the standard we aim for, and your comments about the bathroom mirror, shower valve, and flokati rug are especially helpful—we agree those rugs can be difficult to maintain, and your input gives us good reason to reassess that choice. We have reviewed the kitchen setup, including the microwave compatibility with dinnerware and adding a kettle/teapot. We especially value your perspective as a fellow short-term rental owner. Your suggestion about a well-stocked “junk drawer” is a great one, and we agree that items like scissors are essential. We have taken that recommendation to heart as we continue reinvesting in and refining the guest experience. Thank you again for your honesty and for helping us identify opportunities to do better.
