Nice, well run property

Very happy with our stay. As a rookie with VRBO rentals, we didn't know what to expect. Jeremy, our main contact, was friendly about conscientious. There were lots of burned-out light bulbs, batteries missing from remotes, etc. Of course, no one can predict have guests who cheat the rules to steal stuff, or have pool parties, etc. Some recent guests trashed the pool area. Uncontrollable. But nothing we couldn't fix ourselves easily. Very comfortable place. Nice pool. Will rent again, when I'm in Harlingen!

House was very clean and comfortable.

Stay was comfortable and problem free. Would stay again. Host does a good job and shout out to the property manager getting me an early check in! If you ever had to pay for your checkin day twice and be without a place for half the day It was appreciated!

Didn't get answers in timely manner. Cockroaches were horrible and sheets on bed were dirty. No end tables or night stands

The stay was fine. Things that could of gone better… Tried using the oven and there had been brownies cooked that spilled to the bottom area of the oven and were never cleaned with broken glass. Whole house smoked up by the time we found why. Bar stools were broken, chairs in kitchen area were too short for the table. Kitten was not stocked with cookware. We saw one roach, roach houses were exposed. Trash was left from previous renters outside. I had hoped after the previous reviews there had been improvements. I gave it a shot and I should of gone with my gut. Paid too much for all the issues. Property managers are not the owners otherwise I would of sent the photos I took of the property to them. It’s unfortunate because the home itself is spacious and beautiful.

Was not able to get the access code to the property until after check in time had passed. Selected this property as it stated sleeps 10, it did not. Only 3 beds. Luckily we had brought inflatable mattress. The house did have plenty of room. Also selected it because it stated pet friendly & 2 small dogs allowed. When we gained access, the “House Rules” posted stated NO PETS allowed. Lastly, we were unable to cook due to amount of roaches in the kitchen. Disgusting! Cooked the 1st night and luckily we had everything covered. Ate dinner, delayed washing dishes by an hour & when we entered the kitchen, there were roaches on the serving spoons, and counters. Would not stay stay again as there was conflicting information on this rental listing.

Do NOT book

This stay was an ordeal.I reached out to the owner weeks in advance to let her know I was booking specifically for the pool, she assured that it would be clean and ready to go. I messaged before arriving but did not receive a response, they did not send me any check in info, and I as stuck waiting outside with my children in 100°weather. All numbers provided either did not work, had full box, or were forwarding my call to VM. The only reason I was able to contact someone is because the pool man was there, and had JUST shocked the pool, he advised we not use it for up to 5hrs. The host had poor communication and did not reach out to me, instead they pawned it off on the maintenance man who had to come out and see that the pool was filthy and full of chemicals, on top of that the grass had not been cut, there was no BBQ pit, there were bugs in the closet, and the closet door was broken and almost fell on my child. We had no choice but to stay the night and lost an entire day partly because of them dropping the ball with the check in info and partly because we booked for the pool but were unable to use it for 24 hours. I reached out to VRBO who stated that the refund was the owners decision, they refused to reimburse me for that day. I will never book through VRBO again. Save yourself the trouble and avoid the property all together. They also mentioned that they are always so booked that they never have time to properly clean the pool. No play area as advertised.

Great House and Pool

Plenty of room in this updated house in a quiet neighborhood. The pool was a big bonus since it does get a little warm in Harlingen.

VRBO house stay

Home was very spacious and temperature was great. Master bedroom bed is very noisy with any movement made. Not enough cooking pans and alot of dusty areas. Check in communication was not very good. I had been messaging host for a month and I didn't get responses like I believed I would. Host didn't give me any check in info, even though I reached out through different methods, until an hour before check in. This was stressful because I didn't know if I was going to get that information or be looking for a list minute stay. There were some roach issues in the kitchen.

Not as advertised. Moved to awful hotel and was lied to about getting booked into another house.

Pool was not filled, floors were dirty, no towels. I took pictures. Broken kitchen blinds. Spoke with Shannon. She told us we would be booked in a nicer house with pool. Was lied to. We had to find our own hotel after two days in sleezy hotel with roaches. The pool water was green. Yuck!!

Great Place to stay. Really spacious.

I really enjoyed the minimalism of the home. The communication with the property owner went really well. I had no issues with communication. The only hiccup was the pool. It was being cleaned when we arrived. It was ready to go on our last day but even without the pool the house was a great stay. Quiet neighborhood. We really enjoyed it.

The property is spacious and has been redone, but is not completed. We loved the location and the neighborhood that it is in. As previous guests have noted, we still had most of the same issues. Housekeeping is horrible. The roach was still there dead under the bed. None of the drawers in either bathrooms or in our bedroom had been cleaned. All of the vents still need to be cleaned. We ended up with sinus infections. The kitchen hood still has the insulation hanging through it. Isn't this a code violation? We unplugged the bathroom shower drain. (How did housekeeping not know this?) We purchased a Roku remote so that we could use the tv, but streaming on it is horrible. Communication with the host is lacking, especially for checking in/out and no instructions. Even though the location was great for us, we won't be staying here again unless these issues get resolved. There is a microwave now along with additional dishes and additional bathroom hand/wash towels.

Bare Bones - Stay Away!!!

This house lacked just about everything you would hope for in a rental home. We arrived to the house and the host had not uploaded any check-in info to VRBO. I had no code to get into the house, check-in or check out instructions. Ended up having to message the host and only received back one and two word answers. Very rude. The couple of towels that were provided are more like rags... Stained, ripped and not appropriate for bathing towels. First thing we found was a live roach in the master bedroom after getting into the house. There is next to nothing in the kitchen for cooking or eating. Only a couple plates and 2 bowls I believe. No pots and only one pan... NOT EVEN A MICROWAVE!! The master bathroom has no toilet paper holder, so a partial roll was just left on the counter and the shower does not drain well, so you're standing in 2" of water the entire time. How is the host not aware of this if the shower is actually being cleaned after each visit? There is no furniture in 2 of the bedrooms other than a mattress and box spring, so all of your clothes, phones, jewelry, etc. must just be left on the floor. Internet was unstable and had to be reset multiple times as well. It's obvious that the host could care less about customer comfort. Don't make the same mistake we did... Stay away!

Bad mattresses, pillows, bedding, safety issue

The property is in a nice neighborhood. Very roomy but the garbage cans were full. My son had to pick up the overflow of trash in the backyard. There were full trash bags in the garage. The place was dirty, deplorable mattresses pillows, bedding. Chairs were stained and a hazard/safety issue with one barstool. The iron back was loose and could have injured my daughter-in-law. They had replaced the vent above the stove but when turning on the fan, it would blow insulation on our food being prepared. Very dissapointed with this place. I have photos of all the issues but no way to attach them. If there was a way to do so; you wouldn't even consider this place at all. Looks beautiful on the outside and pictures but very deceiving.

Needs more amenities.

This place could use some more pots and pans. Could use a microwave, toaster, and dish washer would be nice with heated pool. Pool is in morning shade so it is very cold…couldn’t use it. No mattress pads on beds or pillow case coverings. Could use more towels. Garage door opener would have been nice to have. Overall… won’t stay here again

A perfect place that Ill be coming back to!

We loved this property! My husband hasnt been able to come home for the holidays in 11 years because of being in the military, so this house was perfect for our stay and gave us the opportunity to see family we havent seen in forever! It was spacious and accommodated everything and everyone! Will definitely be looking to book this property again in the future ! Thank you so much!

House was very clean and very nice

The house was very nice. The pool was but we did not use it. They bill you for the electric. This place was a very safe area to stay in. The owner was hard to get ahold of for the door code but it was all worked out and everything was fine. Would stay there again.

Great Family Home

This property was in a superb location! We really enjoyed the stay there. The check-in process got a tad mixed up but the owner did call us to get it straightened out and we had no further issues. The property has a fridge, washer and dryer, tv, xboxes, wifi, games for kids. It did not have a dishwasher or microwave, but that was no big deal for us at all. I do wish it had a few more oven pans to cook with. It worked out though I just went and purchased throw away aluminum pans. The property was beautifully decorated and did have a great pool. We did not end up using the pool since it was a tad chilly but it was very nice. The house has been newly renovated and looks very nice. I would def stay there again and have actually given the listing to family that visits that area often.

Good location/lots of space

This is a great home for a family trip. Make sure to bring your own toiletries (like bath soap, etc.), but other than that it's a great home with plenty of family space. We've now stayed here twice.
