Wonderful Family House

Clean, cute two story house. Such a great location to the public docks. We enjoyed every part about it. In the summer, the downstairs stays very cool and the bedrooms are downstairs so sleep is easy. The upstairs does get pretty hot (we stayed in July). The host was professional. We will likely stay again.

We had an absolutely wonderful two-week stay at the Donner Lake Vacation Home. When we entered the home we immediately noticed how immaculate it was. We went straight out to the deck and the view of the lake throught the trees was breathtaking. We spent a lot of our time just relaxing there. My son, daughter-in-law and our two grandbabies loved it also. When they left my sister-in-law and brother in law stayed and loved it too. You honestly just need to bring your clothes and food as everything is provided. Dealing with Michael and Aaron was excellent. The power had gone out the night before and I called Aaron (property manager) as the internet and cable were out. He had it taken care of within five minutes. We look forward to staying here next year!

Dirty Home

Location is FANTASTIC for access to days at the lake. However, the house was VERY dirty, dingy, and run down. Was staying for a quiet long weekend at the lake for my 40th birthday and just wanted a get away close to the lake... otherwise we likely would have looked for a hotel or returned home. Some of our family returned home instead of staying due to the lack of cleanliness. Love the area but would not stay in this home again.

Dear Brook, Comfort of our guests which include house cleaning is our high priority for running this business. We were extremely surprised when we received your review with the comment about extremely dirty house. Your review was posted after your guests departed from the house. After receiving the review, we tried to contact you to get specific details regarding the cleaning issue, however, you did not respond. Per Instructions to Renters listed on VRBO, when arrived, renter is required to check the house for cleanliness and report any issues. You did not inform us about the issue neither upon your arrival nor during your stay. I need to assure you that house was professionally cleaned prior to your arrival. We work with professional licensed cleaning company that always does an exceptional job cleaning our house. After receiving your review, I contacted the company owner, and she confirmed that house was cleaned and she personally inspected it afterwards. Regarding the statement about half of the guests leaving the house, I need to remind you that you signed up 4 people for your stay, but brought in group of 11 as recorded on the front door security camera. No wonder your guests felt uncomfortable as only 6 people can sleep comfortably in the house as indicated in the rental agreement (maximum 8 people are allowed in the house by short term rental permit obtained from Town of Truckee and you were notified about it prior to the booking). You are definitely supposed to rent bigger place for a group of that size. We are always easily reachable and would have been happy to address any issues you might have had. Great location and great place

Loved this little sweet slice of heaven. Brought out two little kids who loved playing on the sled that is at the house and the cozy warm fires that are upstairs and downstairs. Kitchen has a lot of things to cook with which made it feel like home. GREAT location - stores and downtown super close and Donner lake right in your view from deck. Very clean and cozy. We loved our stay!

Great Donner Property

Comfortable and charming Donner Lake home close to the water and town. Had everything we needed, and we had a great stay. Property owner was very attentive. Two thumbs up from someone who grew up in Truckee and knows the area well.

Great family summer trip

Great location, close walking distance to public piers/rocky beach. Comfortable interior. Lots of board games & books for use. Full serviceable kitchen. Spacious balcony. We would stay again.. perhaps try a winter trip here.

Loved Our Stay!

Our family of 4 (kids ages 12 & 15) had a wonderful stay at the "Tree House". We came for hiking around the Donner Lake area; beautiful trails around Boreal. House was very comfortable, well stocked, clean and I felt more spacious than the pictures made it appear. Had coffee filters, salt & pepper, a few different spice blends and more than enough kitchen gadgets that I never got a chance to use. Wifi worked well. Instructions were clear, although I did need the "Mister" to show me how to use the TV. We ended up doing our shopping at Safeway about a mile away, but later discovered there was a convience store 2 blocks away that we could have gotten our items at since we were only there the weekend. They carried tri-tip, ground beef, bacon and a few select fresh produce items, etc. My only complaint was that we didn't stay long enough! Thank you for letting us stay at your vacation rental. It was a very enjoyable trip!
