The residence is approximately 10 minutes (~3 miles) from Anschutz Medical Campus and Children's Hospital Colorado, 12 minutes (<4 miles) from the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center, and approximately 20 minutes (~5 miles) from the Colorado Blood Cancer Institute. This location also provides practical access to regional employers, major routes, shopping, dining, pharmacies, grocery stores, and everyday services.

Standard incidental safeguards are processed as a temporary electronic authorization hold rather than an upfront cash deposit, helping reduce initial move-in costs while keeping arrival and departure expectations predictable.

📋 Booking Requirements
To maintain verified housing standards and a stable residential environment, the following requirements apply to all reservations:
• Identity Verification: All adult occupants must provide a government-issued ID, complete intake verification, and sign a formal Residency Agreement within 24 hours of booking to officially secure the stay.
• Housing Only (Non-Clinical): KFR provides private restorative housing, not caregiving, medical, or clinical services. Guests are responsible for arranging their own independent caregiver support whenever recommended by their medical team.
• Emergency Contacts: Guests may be asked to provide at least two emergency contacts during the intake process for use strictly in health, safety, or occupancy-related emergencies.
• Security Hold & Screening: A temporary electronic incidental authorization hold is required at check-in ($500 standard / $750 with approved pet exceptions). No upfront cash deposit is collected. AMEX is not accepted for this hold. Additional screening or traveler’s insurance requirements may apply based on booking channel or profile history.
• Pet-Friendly Suites Only: Pre-approved dogs and cats (maximum of two) are permitted only within designated pet-friendly suites (17B and 35B) under a signed pet agreement and applicable community rules.
• Booking Integrity: Reservations must be completed directly through this listing or an approved KFR booking channel. We are not affiliated with Houzlet or other unauthorized third-party listing services.

• Layout Considerations: Please note that mattresses may be positioned higher than standard residential heights. This residence features a traditional tub/shower combination; Suite 35B is our only unit equipped with an accessible walk-in stall shower.
• Pre-Booking Responsibility: You are expected to thoroughly review all photos, read these rules, and share them with your party before confirming your stay. While we cannot determine physical fit for your specific situation, we are happy to answer any operational questions—please reach out prior to booking if anything is unclear.
• Visitor Supervision: Children and visitors are welcome but must remain under close adult supervision within our shared boundaries, respecting neighboring residents by strictly avoiding adjacent private residential porches, patios, or designated parking areas.

COMMUNITY RULES & SECURITY
• 30-Night Minimum Stay: This property operates strictly as a low-density, small multifamily residential community for extended stays. Short-term tourism, vacation rentals, graduation groups, loud events, home-buying transitions, or open-ended housing needs are strictly prohibited.
• Property Boundary Etiquette: This property features shared common backyard lawn areas, but individual resident entry porches, patios, and assigned parking spaces are strictly private to each suite. Respecting these designated boundaries is mandatory for all residents and their visitors.
• 100% Smoke-Free Property: We enforce a zero-tolerance policy against smoking, vaping, or exterior tobacco/marijuana use anywhere on the premises, including outdoor spaces. Violations may result in cancellation of the reservation, termination of occupancy, additional fees, or other remedies permitted under the Residency Agreement.
• Property Oversight & Security: Exterior security devices and cameras monitor common outdoor spaces and entrances only, with audio and video. No devices monitor the interior living spaces. No unverified overnight guests are permitted.

A wonderful getaway

My stay at this property was EXCELLENT. The amenities offered were top notch, the home was so comfy & the host was very friendly, professional & prompt. I will definitely stay here again next time I visit Denver.

Very nice host, awesome stay

Anna was a great host. Our basement level was completely private and was very nice and clean. Garage and private entrance were perfect for us.

Great place to stay

Stayed here during 2022 USA Ultimate Masters Championships in Aurora. Location was only 15 minutes from the Aurora Sports Complex. We were also only 20 minutes from downtown Denver. The place was a nice home base between activities, Very relaxing. Will look to stay here again in future tournaments.

Cosy home to explore Denver

My friends and I stayed in Anna’s place for a few nights at the start of a road trip/hiking trip. The home was full of very thoughtful amenities and it was always a relief to arrive home to a cosy after a long day of walking around, exploring Denver, Boulder and hiking. Anna was available and very responsive to help out when needed. Would definitely stay again.

Amazing host

Anne was a great host & her home was over-prepared with all the amenities you could need. She was highly communicative and gave us the check-in info well in advance. We also enjoyed all of the Kenyan decor and appreciate how much thought went into making the stay feel like home. Would definitely recommend to others. Thank you!

Hidden gem with a touch of Kenya.

This was a nice basement apartment for 2 people. The decor is very tasteful and very colorful. The apartment has 2 small bedrooms, a very functional , well-stocked kitchen with some very nice coffees, and a nice living room/ dining room combo. The cleanliness was impressive. The location was good for all the activities that we had planned. The host was communicative but not intrusive. I would stay here again.

Basement apartment that does smell like a basement. The garage is a big bonus which makes staying there feel very safe. Would have liked clearer instructions on where the entrance door was. Really need VRBO app for communication which I did not have at first.

A little dissappointed by this review as it does not align with much of what we provide. We provide very detailed check-in instructions with photos for check-in right from where lockbox is to where the entrance is. This is all done within 24 hours of your check-in. We also provide host contact information so that if you have any trouble checking in, you can reach out to us. We never got any communication from you other than the text informing us of your son and his wife coming to visit and ending with (AND I QUOTE) "....This is a lovely place. Thank you." COMMUNICATION: We always make sure to communicate with our guests right from booking which is why we emphasis a 24-hour response time during which time we provide guests with lots of information so that they can do their due diligence in deciding if we are a fit. On the flip side, we felt that you actually were not very responsive but seemingly new to VRBO app, as you continued to send communication via text, which is discouraged both by VRBO and us. We find text messages to be a poor way to communicate as one can miss the communication thus encourage guests to use the platform or call in the event of an emergency. We cut you some slack and did not hold it against you and even allowed you to have your family over, who stayed well into the night on many occassions to where we felt to ask if you needed extra linen for them as it would not have cost you any extra since we price for max occupancy. You may have taken offense to this (our inquiry about supplying extra linen, or request to try to keep communication on the platform) and thought we were going to reflect it in our review of you, on the contrary, we see no reason to ding guests, particularly new guests for what could be a learning curve. Please also note that Hosts have no control over the VRBO App. It is up to guests to install the App, which is simple and easy to do and VRBO can walk you through the process of doing so, such that you are keeping all communication on the platform thereby also protecting yourself as guest. As far as your comment related to the suite smelling like a basement. The reality is, it is a basement, yet we work hard to mitigate any negative experience to help work towards guest comfort as much as possible. We have Disposable Moisture Absorbers with Activated Charcoal strategically placed in the suite and one of the top quality air purifiers, Blueair Blue Pure 211+ Air Purifier which we provide in all our suites not limited to the garden level suites to help provide cleaner and fresher indoor air for guests, capturing airborne allergens and particles (dust, pollen, pet dander, smoke, certain viruses and bacteria and even VOCs from cleaning products and building materials) as indicated on our listing description. Our many positive reviews show that we go to great lengths to ensure a comfortable stay for guests. We take pride in what we offer and always seek to stand out, thus going with a mix of culture, the Kenyan culture and modern amenities. Glad you liked some of the amenities provided. Perhaps next time you will try some of our non-Basement options which we have a few, all carrying the same theme, "A TASTE OF KENYA IN THE DENVER METRO AREA." Many guests love the experience of culture and modern upgrades infused into a memorable experience. Let us know when back in town, we'd love to share the different listing options that we offer our guests making for a comfortable and convenient, short or long-term stay.

My family took a long weekend in the Denver area in June 2022. I found Anna's listing on VRBO and the pictures of her home were exactly the same as when we arrived. Her home was clean, cozy and very comfortable. We even had a private garage! She was easy to get in touch with and the check in and check out processes were a breeze. The location of the property was convenient and close to several shopping areas. It was easy to find and and easy to get onto the highway/streets to take us to our destinations. I will stay at Anna's home the next time we are in the Denver area!

The place was clean and well kept. There were snacks waiting for us on the table and a large TV for when we came back to chill between activities. It's located next to a main road to take you right into the heart of Denver. Most of the places we went just happened to be a relatively straight shot from here. Checking in and out was easy and Anna was very hospitable, even apologizing for some light noise coming from some of the neighbors. Thanks for everything!

Birthday Getaway

Wonderful stay with Anna! She really was wonderful and can't say enough about our stay at her beautiful duplex! Very clean property, she provided lots of complimentary beer and snacks, check-in was easy, and the home was absolutely gorgeous! We will definitely consider returning on our next stay in Denver.

Nice Oasis in Cool Neighborhood

This is a uniquely decorated space in the lower half of a duplex. Beds are super comfortable and temperatures were super easy to manage. Anna is a truly sweet person, not to mention a great and friendly host. The neighborhood has its moments but East Colfax is so full of international flavor it is easy to overlook. We ended up chucking a couple of our planned activities so that we could eat at the international food court and walk some of the shops and bakeries. We don't get as much of this in the Lincoln/Omaha area, so were so excited by the opportunity. Definitely a recommend...unless you're staying the same weekend I'm returning anyway. :)
