Welcome to the North Star Base Camp! Your gateway to the Grand Canyon and Flagstaff. Come enjoy the solitude of your 8000' elevation 5 acre cabin bordering National Forest. This well appointed off the grid home with many modern comforts and and all the reliability of your home. Less than an hour from the Grand Canyon and close to Flagstaff and the Arizona Snowbowl. Home is located in Kendrick Park, about 20 mins north of Flagstaff. Beautiful, peaceful location with gorgeous views of the mountains.

This was a beautiful stay! Couldn't have asked for a better place to disconnect and enjoy our staycation with our dog! The house was clean with lots of thoughtful touches, including wine! We spent time enjoying the scenery, and the cooler weather. We even took some beautiful star photos too! Everything was perfect

Relaxing Base Camp

My husband and I spent 4 wonderful nights and days at the North Star Base camp while we enjoyed the area around it. It was the perfect location and had everything we needed.

Loved it!

Perrect out-of-the-way getaway!

This is our 2nd time staying here and we absolutely love it. It is away from all the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, With the most picture scenery. This time we had snow several evenings and mornings, and it just made it even More beautiful. Yet You’re only 20 to 30 minutes from town. Definitely hope to come back again next year!

Trip to Grand Canyon

Beautiful view and perfect spot for 2 couples and our doggie! Well furnished and easy drive to the Grand Canyon! The fenced backyard was spacious and enjoyed by our dog. We were a little concerned because of never staying off grid but no issues at all. Would definitely book again

Grand adventure

The house was AMAZING!!! Absolutely beautiful!!! Pictures do not do justice and Ms. Lisette was perfect and prompt for all communication. Would definitely stay here again. Perfect graduation gift for our son who brought along his friend. Truly a blessing.

Winter Cabin Getaway

By far one of the best cabins I have ever stayed at. Quiet, peaceful and stunning views. My wife, parents, brother and dog all felt at home. I didn't know if I was in Flagstaff or in Wyoming/Montana! I was hoping to see some snow but it didn't matter. Lissette was extremely helpful and friendly from the beginning. The cabin was clean and cozy. I will definitely be booking again next Winter! Amazing amazing amazing.

This property was beautiful. Amazing view of snow covered Humphrey’s Peak right from the living room windows. Cabin was great and Lisette was amazing. She was beyond accommodating. Gift basket with wine and a card waiting for us on arrival. The cabin was furnished with just about everything we needed for our stay. She left us her personal cell in case we needed anything. Great location central to the Grand Canyon, Page, and Sedona. Can’t recommend this place enough. Would give more stars if I could.

Amazing

Our stay was amazing. Even with an off-the-grid home, we didn't feel as if any amenities were missing. Lisette left great instructions, a cute welcome note, a bottle of wine and some snacks. We were close enough to Flagstaff for our zip line adventure in town and the notebooks with information on local hikes and food ideas was great. If we had been there for longer, we would've used more of the kitchen although we did make popcorn in the popcorn maker and now I want one for my own home. Our dog enjoyed the deck and being with us as well as exploring the yard. We will be back to enjoy the solitude and explore more hikes nearby.

Wonderful views and peaceful property!

Our family just had a wonderful stay at this property! We were taken aback at how close Humphrey's Peak was and that just by driving 30 minutes outside of Flagstaff things were so rural and tranquil! The house was very clean and provided pretty much all you could need! I did not realize that the house did not have air conditioning, but it worked out just fine with our family being gone most of the day on hikes and site seeing, and being back at night when the breeze was cool! My niece and nephew slept in the loft and it was definitely the most hot up there! There's also no other access to the loft except from the ladder, so I definitely wouldn't plan on anyone elderly or not in good health sleeping in the two twin beds. Even though the cabin is off the grid, things went well, and we always had power! I would highly recommend for families who want to get away from the business of the city, but who also want easy access to restaurants, groceries, and shopping! We were also just and hour away from the Grand Canyon!

Beautiful and tranquil

The home is exactly as described. Top floor is a bedroom and loft with access by way of a tall, rolling ladder. Main floor is master bedroom, kitchen, dining room, living room and powder room. Lower floor is a third bedroom with attached bathroom, laundry and garage access. Laundry has dog doors. We arrived to find a bottle of wine and basket of goodies for our enjoyment. The home is spacious, the views are amazing and the area is incredibly quiet. We had a spectacular sunrise and sunset every day and an unexpected snowfall that made it all even more beautiful. It’s a 20 minute drive to Flagstaff, about an hour to the Grand Canyon, Snowbowl is a quick drive of about 10 minutes or so. The house was stocked with all we needed as far as kitchen items, cooking supplies such as spices, flour, sugar etc. The furniture was comfortable and the house stayed warm despite the cold outside. So many games to choose from, DVDs, WiFi, indoor/outdoor music set up (we didn’t try it though), BBQ on the deck, backpacks, flashlights, walking sticks and so much more that could be borrowed while staying there. We spent some wonderful days catching up as a family and felt the stress roll off as we gazed out the windows, enjoyed the outdoor offerings of the local area and relaxed over a long weekend. We loved this house and its beautiful location. We will be back.

Amazing trip away in a beautiful one of a kind home!

My family and I stayed at Lisettes beautiful, clean and very comfortable home for a few days and wish we could’ve stayed longer. There was nothing that wasn’t thought of for guests. The snacks and a bottle of wine with a welcome card was such a nice surprise! Thank you! The home has incredible views and we enjoyed sitting out on the deck watching the clouds come in and snow on Humpries Peak. We enjoyed a very comfortable stay and Lisette was very attentive when we had a few questions. We look forward to staying again in the near future.

Fantastic!

The location can't be beat, it is so peaceful and private, yet close enough to Flagstaff to allow easy trips into town. The view was killer, saw several meteors and the sunsets and sunrises were incredible. The kitchen was excellent and well appointed. The whole place was incredibly cozy and clean with lots of items provided in case you forget anything. There are some excellent hiking and nature trails nearby. Great DVD selection as well! I will absolutely be back again some day, I can't recommend this place enough.

This property was amazing. It has everything you could ever need and tons of advice for hiking the area. We have stayed at several VRBOs and this is one of the best! The fenced in back yard was great for our dog. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Perfect Location and Stunning Views!

Wow! All I can say is that if you're still debating, you should book now. The views of Kendrick Park and Humphreys Peak alone make this house exceptional, but it doesn't stop there. You'll be about an hour from the Grand Canyon, within about 60 - 90 minutes of at least 6 other National Monuments and Landmarks, and a little over an hour from Sedona and some fantastic Red Rock hiking. If you're not up for driving, there are also a number of great trails right in the local area. The dark skies at night make the Milky Way and planets easy to see. The house itself was perfect for our family, and the "off grid" utilities never left us wanting and instead added to the coziness of our stay. To top it all off, Lisette was more than accommodating, and you'll find the house well stocked with all of the essentials and then some. We were even treated to a nice welcome gift upon our arrival. I will miss this house. Thank you, Lisette, for sharing it with us!

Astonishing !

What a phenomenal and beautiful experience. Far from the crowd yet close to everything. You can just cherish the views from this property but the two days of our stay was just not enough as I intend to return and explore around as well. Lisette is an amazing host and replies almost instantly for any issues you may have. Well stocked pantry and stuff for your daily use complement the stay. Extraordinary stay and highly recommended. ! Gorgeous & Peaceful

This home has such a beautiful and peaceful vibe to it! Also one of the best appointed places I've ever stayed at! Great view of the mountains, comfortable beds, games, everything you could need in the kitchen. Also, so much good stuff for kids! There were cups, spoons, coloring pages, and a table in the back. So nice to have! We had a perfect stay and it was truly a wonderful reset for us. There are 2 wonderful bedrooms that both almost feel like masters and then a great loft area with a yoga/seating area AND a small room with two twin beds. The loft stairs were a bit steep for our kids (7 and 5) to do on their own but they LOVED the space and older kids would flip over it. Can't wait to come back. Note: We went in winter and the tail end of the drive was a bit tricky for our 2 wheel drive SUV. The owners warned us so it was totally transparent! Anyways, something to consider when you go =)

Amazing Grand Canyon stay

This property is totally off the grid yet totally amazing. The Mountain View’s are as good as anywhere. The cabin is big, clean, and so unique (in a great way). My family and I will be coming back to this cabin!
