Fort Morgan and Morgantown

Morgantown is a lovely, unique seaside community featuring two swimming pools, a kiddie pool, two lighted tennis/pickleball courts and several beach access boardwalks. When you first arrive, you'll notice pride of ownership in this pastel colored, beautifully landscape neighborhood. Guests really enjoy walking and biking along the quiet streets and many rent golf carts and enjoy sunset drives. If you have small children or just prefer the convenience of parking close to the beach, there is a public lot just to the west of Morgantown.

Located a scenic 15 miles from Gulf Shores, you'll find everything you need close at hand. Dollar General and Sassy Bass Market are just a few miles away and have all the basics you might need. There are several restaurants nearby offering a variety of tasty dishes. Tacky Jack's, Sassy Bass (2 locations), Coast and brand-new Jesse's (opening soon) to name a few. Some venues even offer live, local entertainment.

Fort Morgan fishing pier is now open, and anglers will have access to convenient inshore fishing and the abundant species locally available.

Be sure and visit nearby Bon Secour Wildlife Refuge with over 7,000 acres of coastal habit. You'll be able to hike through the preserve and observe local flora and fauna. There are 4 trails, varying in size and terrain, and you'll definitely want to make time to visit this natural oasis.

Silver Dunes West is located at 6188 Sawgrass Drive, Gulf Shores, AL 36542.

This is an excellent location and nicely updated and spacious kitchen and living and dining. Perfect for our growing family! Spacious bedrooms and balcony and right on the beach! It needs a better, more thorough cleaning, but I think the management will see to it getting cleaned as it should be.

Home was not clean. Needs a few upgrades ( handles, faucets, baseboards...ect.) and a lot of cleaning. Outside was under 4-6" of water when we arrived, water blocked entrance to front. Grills were dirty and falling apart, old beach gear and trash was left under patio in walkway ( it was all old, rusted and trash). Trash was in sand along side of property. ... The good was the room of property and location and view of the beach.

Wonderful to say the least

We had a wonderful vacation at Silver Dunes. Very nice house in a great location. We had a couple of hiccups while we were there, but the management company immediately addressed them - they were absolutely wonderful.

We appreciate your feedback Ruth. The AC unit has been replaced! We have not had any recent complaints on the fridge but will certainly have our maintenance take a look. We do always tell guests that it can take up to 24 hours for a fridge to cool a whole new load of items. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the fabulous location. It was in the perfect spot to just walk right out to the beach or sit out on the balcony and enjoy the view. The kitchen was well equipped, and we were even able to request a replacement coffee pot that was brought to us within 30 minutes! The July 4 fireworks were spectacular!!

Fun with Family

I loved that we were right on the beach. It was easy to get our chairs and umbrellas down and back up each day. The beach area around us was more crowded than I like, but that was due to the size of the neighborhood.
