Charming 5 Bedroom 8 Bath Home steps from Trinity Church & Downtown Newport

Originally built in 1779 and reborn in 2020, 46 Church Street is the perfect marriage of old and new. This one of a kind home sits in the heart of downtown Newport. During the rebuild—the historic exterior was thoughtfully kept in mind and its interior modernized to meet every need of today’s savvy traveler.

Classic details welcome you into the home where details of the original house’s signature entry were replicated with custom moldings and the reuse of the brownstone front step still in its original location.

The first floor offers an open flow kitchen-dining-living space; with refinished original 243 year old hardwood flooring throughout. This kitchen features a hand-hammered copper sink, a custom antique island with reused historic boards, stainless steel appliances and more. Also, on the first floor, there are two en-suites, a laundry room, plus a half bath.

The second floor features yet another open flow kitchen-dining-living space, along with a 2nd laundry room, a 2nd half bath and 2 more en-suites. Venture up the wide, graceful staircase to the penthouse level, where there is a sun-filled entertainment space featuring Sonos wireless sound system, large flat screen TV’s, and a well equip wet bar which leads out to stunning rooftop deck with unparalleled sunset views of the harbor and Queen Anne’s Square.

Each level of the home has a a private deck or terrace and a gas fireplace surrounded with custom tile from local artist Lee Segal at All Fired Up Pottery in Newport. Plus, all of the walls are adorned with wonderful old school Newport photography and paintings created by local artists Marc Fernandez. You will love living in downtown Newport, across from Trinity Church, Queen Anne Square and all of Newport’s exciting attractions.

Sean was a great host, clear and quick communication. The house was fantastic, 8 adults and 2 kids were in our group and there was plenty of space and everyone slept comfortably. Would highly recommend and we plan to be back ourselves! Location is also perfect, walking distance to all of downtown Newport.

Everything about this rental is too notch. We had a group of 7 ladies stay for a college reunion weekend and were wowed by the house. From the spaciousness to comfortable beds to well stocked coffee and supplies! On top of that the location was perfect and allowed us to walk everywhere. Highly recommend this rental!

This was the most amazing rental home we have ever stayed at. The home itself is stunning! There was not one detail missed. Sean was very attentive and responded immediately when needed. The house was perfect for our weekend in Newport girls' trip. We had 6 ladies staying in the home and we all felt like we had plenty of room, bathrooms, and everything we could have wanted. Very beautiful, well-maintained and comfortable historic home. Sean was a pleasure to work with on booking, and we appreciated how close we were to walking into town, restaurants etc. Loved our stay and would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to experience Newport at it finest!

My family of 8 absolutely loved this rental! It is decorated beautifully and was immaculate; the beds were comfortable, bedding and towels soft and clean…and extra touches were appreciated.
