Beachfront Sunsets on the Water at Oakwood Beach

You’ll instantly relax when you arrive at this private beachfront home on the beautiful Delaware River (2020 River of the year!). This hidden gem is off the beaten path, making it perfect for you to escape the hustle and bustle of your busy day-to-day. You’ll love the amazing sunsets and water fun — walk out the backdoor directly onto the large deck and sandy beach.

Message us for information about the local wineries and distilleries or for kayaking!
The space:

The home has 4 bedrooms and 2.5 baths including a first floor, large bedroom with ensuite.

Easy access road with little traffic. Parking for 5 cars (1 in front driveway, 4 in our private parking across the street). Sleeps 11 with 6 beds (3 convertibles).

Walk out the door and onto the quiet beach, sit by the water, walk along the shore, go for a swim or enjoy water activities you love!

Our house is now equipped with Solar Panels which generally supply 100% of the needed energy demand.

Salem County is a rural agricultural area, not your typical Jersey shore experience. There aren’t bars or many stores, but you’ll see plenty of farm stands on your way to town filled with Jersey produce.

Most residents live on this is quiet beach year-round, so please be respectful, especially with your noise level. No parties are permitted. Quiet hours 10pm-8am.

Mid stay cleaning can be easily arranged per your preference. Please let us know.

The beach is beautiful and the water is great for swimming or water sports; however, there are no lifeguards: use of the beach and other outside areas are at renter's own risk (host is not responsible for any injury as such).

Note that there is a video doorbell and a security camera facing the back deck that record video when motion is detected 24/7.

There are noise monitor devices inside and outside of the property made by Minut. They only detect noise in decibels and do not record conversations.

Early Check-In Policy
When early check-in is possible, a $30 fee per early hour applies. Please note that we can't always guarantee early check-in, especially when it's requested well in advance. If you need guaranteed early access, we recommend booking the night before your intended stay.

Our family had such a wonderful stay! The house was great, very clean and updated, with lots of nice touches like extra snacks, sunscreen, flip-flops, and beach towels conveniently located by the back door! There was plenty of room for large or extended families, with ample seating inside and out, and gorgeous views through the wall of windows all along the back! The deck was just perfect, we loved the outdoor dining area, as well as the comfy outdoor sectional for family hang-outs. The beach access was super convenient, great for families with small children who don't want to carry beach gear and toys too far! As nature-lovers, we were excited to see a variety of birds, including egrets, loons, cormorants, seagulls, mockingbirds, and swallows! The beautiful sunsets were icing on the cake! We couldn't have asked for a better location!

Absolutely wonderful stay - the house is large, comfortable and clean. The kitchen is so well stocked - we had more than everything we needed for our meals! John is very communicative and helpful - check-out directions are very simple to follow. The beach is such a luxury - quiet and serene - the gorgeous sunset cannot be beat! Electric fireplace is very cool. There are so many kind little touches - like extra toothbrushes if you forgot yours (which my mother did) - it's clear that the owners went all out to make sure we had an excellent stay, which we did! Would definitely book again!

My wife and I have stayed at many vacation homes over the past 35 years and this was truly one of the best we have stayed at. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything you would need. Seriously, John thought of everything. The bathrooms were clean. The beds were comfortable. The living area was comfortable and has a gorgeous view with all of the windows facing the beach. The outdoor patio was amazing. There were beach towels, flip flops, bug spray, sunscreen, everything you would want for the beach. Everything was clean. We were on our way back to Philadelphia after a week of military parks and this was perfect for a few days of just chilling and relaxation. We will definitely stay again when in the area.

Awesome place to stay

Hosts couldn’t have been better. Communication excellent. The place was clean and the house was beautiful. Everything you need is in the home including flip flops for the beach!! Neighbors are nice and neighborhood is quiet. Fire pit in the beach made the stay special. Highly recommend you stay here!!

Wonderful Weekend Getaway

A perfect spot to celebrate a family birthday.... convienent for our kids who were coming from DC and PA. The house was perfect, right on the beach and had all of the amenities we could want. Highly recommend this lovely home.

My family and I had a wonder time at this house Labor day weekend. The house was very clean. The kitchen is well equipped. Beautiful sunsets off the back deck. We used the firepit on the beach almost every night. We enjoyed the Shipyard for drinks and music we rented a firepit here .Would highly recommend.

This is the second year that my wife and I joined my daughter's family at this house. We chose it for its location on the river and it having a beach. We brought a small sailboat with us and had a great time on the river and the beach. The layout suited our needs with a downstairs master bedroom. We attended the Cow Town rodeo on Saturday night and enjoyed it. The host maintained good communication via the app. We would recommend this as a great place to stay for a good time on the water.

Best Sunsets

The home owners did a great job of having everything you would need for stay at the beach. The beach was quiet and accessible from the back yard. There was a spot in the house for every family member to hang out and enjoy time relaxing. The sunsets were just stunning. Great panaramic view from the living room.

A surprising gem of a house and location

This exceeded our expectations in every way. A beautiful view, a well=appointed house, and a lovely location. This stretch of beach on the Delaware River is one of NJ's best kept secrets, so it's with a heavy heart that I give such an enthusiastic review. Our family spent Thanksgiving at this property. It was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of areas for everyone to have their own quiet time. The weather was chilly, but the views from the panoramic sliding glass doors made it feel as though we were sitting out on the beach all week. The house is stocked with two pairs of binoculars, which were snatched up and passed around every time a ship passed by (often)! John & Jahneva were helpful and communicative hosts. They made traveling with our extended family painless. Hauling a toddler, dog, and two sets of grandparents rarely goes off without a hitch, but they made it easy. The house is stocked with everything we could have needed for our toddler. The neighborhood is welcoming and walkable.

They thought of everything!

I have rented many vacation houses over the years and this is undoubtedly the best equipped house I have ever rented. Our group included two 2 year olds and there were many provisions for them, including a life jacket. We had a couple of minor blips that were quickly responded to by John. The house and easy communication made for a wonderful family vacation.

Family Time

Our family had a wonderful weekend all under one roof…every parents dream once your children become adults. The house was perfect for us…6 adults, our 2 year old granddaughter and a little dog. The house was clean, comfortable and had an amazing view of the water. We were lucky enough to witness 2 incredible sunsets! Our host, John, was very accommodating and easy to chat with. Throughly enjoyed our stay at this wonderful house.
