THE PERCH-Beach Cottage- FREE GOLF CART-Just Minutes from the Gulf/BEACH!

Your beach vacation can be as relaxed or as action packed as you choose at this cozy 1962 beach retreat. The Perch, the upper (main cottage) level of Heron House, is located in a quiet neighborhood at the less crowded west end of Panama City Beach. This location is far enough away from Pier Park and 30A to avoid the crowds, but it is just a short drive to these popular locations and many more! This relaxed beach house has been fully updated in a way that preserves its vintage charm. You will also be 0.2 mile or 1.5 blocks from the sugar sand beach of Laguna Beach. With the golf cart provided for FREE, it takes just moments to get from the house to the beach. You will find that this cottage has vintage charm with all the modern conveniences to make your stay one to remember. You will sleep on all new mattresses and enjoy the newly updated furnishings and calm relaxing vibes provided by the updated decor. You can dine and make family memories on the huge deck with seating for 6. Kitchen amenities, sand toys, beach towels, and (4) beach chairs are all provided, so that you don't have to worry about the small details. Just bring your swim suit, a cold drink, and sunblock and you will be ready to embark on a relaxing day at the beach. The upper unit is completely private and separate from the lower unit which is being used as a long term rental.
Note: 1st floor unit is occupied by our maintenance manager (single man in his 80’s) and is not a vacation rental. He is is happy to help if you need anything, but will otherwise keep to himself. The golfcart and backyard are for your use only. They are not shared.

If you have utilized the beach towels provided, wash and return them to the closet. (This extra step reduces your cleaning fee $25) Ensure all 6 beach towels are accounted for.

Stay was great! It’s worth noting that the apartment is one block away from a retreat center that hosts over a thousand teenagers for summer retreats. They were kind and respectful and we had no trouble from them, but I feel like it’s reasonable for guests to know that the streets and beach will be crowded!

We had a wonderful vacation here! The location was very convenient for beach access and the use of the golf cart was a major part of our decision to select this property. It was so nice being able to utilize the cart to load our beach gear and drive it to the nearby beach access without having to carry everything. We spent most of our nights on the 2nd floor deck enjoying the gulf breezes and watching the local wildlife. Erica was quickly responsive and Rollie was very friendly and open to any questions we had. Thank you for everything and making our stay a fun and relaxing experience. We highly recommend!

Hi Marcos. I am happy to hear you enjoyed the house and its . I am also glad we were able to quickly figure out that when we had the batteries on the golf cart replaced right before your stay, they did not tighten down a cable well. That allowed us to get it tighten up and get you back on the road! That is the benefit of having an on-site maintenance person. Anything that pops up can be addressed immediately.

Clean and comfortable. The front porch deck is great outdoor space. We enjoyed walking the neighborhoods of Laguna Beach. Just a short walk to the incredible white sand beach. Erica and Rollie are friendly, helpful hosts.

Updated vintage charm

This property is adorable. Plenty of clean, vintage charm with modern updates. Our family especially enjoyed the proximity to the beach, comfortable beds and golf cart. Owner was super easy to communicate with and having a friendly caretaker on site was very helpful. This home provided everything we needed for a fun and relaxing vacation.

Love the neighborhood and the fact that it’s in the residential area of the beach rather than in the middle of the tourist area….can’t beat sitting out on your own private balcony enjoying your coffee and listening to the birds singing in the morning…

Great stay

I would stay here again. We had everything we needed. I didn't know the laundry was down stairs in a detached building/ shed. It wasn't a problem for us but may be for other people. We enjoyed the outdoor seating and the golf cart. You are able to park the golf cart at any of the public beach accesses, and it takes maybe two minutes to get to the closest one.

Very relaxing and soooo close to beachl

Having the golf cart to use was the icing on the cake. We used it to go to the beach, the Carosel grocery store and ridingaround Laguna Beach. House has a beachy retro vibe. Beds are comfy. Kitchen has just about anything I needed to cook meals. The property manager, Rollie, was helpful, friendly and fun to talk to. We loved the quiet west end but appreciated the short ride to PCB for restaurants and entertainment. Would stay again.

Great place for a getaway!

This was a great place to spend a week at the beach. Communication with Erica was easy and quick for everything we needed ahead of our stay and once we arrived. The beds are very nice.. one kinda firm, one kinda soft. The front porch was a great hang out spot for the evenings, we even got to watch a little storm pass through one night. The GOLF CART was a lifesaver. I basically parked my car at the first of the week and we just took the little cart everywhere from Thomas's donuts, the carousel grocery, the beach and just cruising in general. The only drawbacks are it only has one bathroom and I'm pretty sure the fan in there is also a heater, it's right behind a teen Christian summer camp, and the golf cart is not the most powerful one I've ever driven. Overall great property for 2-4 people!!! We loved our stay!

Senior's perspective

As I told Rollie, the best part of our stay was getting to know Rollie. Couple of comments: The renovations to the apartment were excellent. The atmosphere was very quiet. The futon couch was not comfortable to sit on. We could not get the TV in the main room to come on; there was no local / national channels. For us, it was difficult to move the tall chairs under the dinette table. As pointed out to Rollie, we had issues with the golf cart maintaining speed and issues with the gas and brake pedals. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Adorable rental, great location, very quiet

Updated, super clean, spacious second-floor rental unit with high ceilings in a quiet neighborhood. My husband, teenage son, and I stayed for a week. Fantastic outdoor spaces: one out front with a six-person dining table and chairs plus two lounge chairs, one out back with two lounge chairs and a hammock. Laundry is in a locked building in the backyard of the property. Well-kept outdoor basketball court with balls provided about a block away (my sporty teenager loved this!), and the beach is about 1.5 blocks away. Golf cart provided is old and not fast, but adequate for getting to the Carousel grocery store (fantastic store with friendly staff -- GREAT wine selection!) and beach -- note that the forward/reverse gear switch is down where your knees meet the seat (took us a while to figure this out and there were no instructions). Kitchen pots/pans/utensils could use a refresh (especially frying pans), but we made due. There is a drip coffeemaker provided, but you need to bring your own filters and coffee. Plenty of pillows/blankets, beach towels, and beach chairs provided, and there is a cooler out in the laundry building. Looked everywhere for a binder with house rules/instructions but couldn't find one -- would be a nice addition, especially if it included recommendations for nearby activities and restaurants. All in all, a wonderful stay and we'd rent it again!

It is located 1.5 short blocks from the gorgeous emerald water and white sandy beaches of the gulf of Mexico. It is also just 2.5 miles from Pier Park & City Pier* (with unlimited shopping, dining, and entertainment options),0.5 mile from the famous Thomas's Donuts, and 6 miles from Rosemary beach. You can experience everything 30A has to offer for a FRACTION of the cost of staying in Rosemary, Watercolor or Seaside. Plus, you can retreat to your quiet oasis after you have had your fill of the crowds. The Perch is a 2 bedroom 1 bath unit located on the second floor of Heron House. We provide beach towels, 4 beach chairs, and sand toys for the kids (or just those young at heart).
