Welcome to the Red Barn Retreat!
Why not work from "home" with short term rental terms in our gorgeous, serene mountain home, just minutes from Hunter and Windham Mountain! Breathtaking views are at your fingertips, while sipping your morning coffee and having your work meetings, right from our 24 foot porch, overlooking our Koi pond!
Enjoy our 2 bedroom, and two floors of tastefully designed space. Sleeps up to 6 so you can have family and friends up for the weekends!

Relax and unwind in our rustic & peaceful vacation home. Tranquil scenes and serenity await in this private & quiet property, just minutes to scenic hiking, local breweries, and Windham & Hunter Mountains. Sit by the fire pit in our yard in the Adirondack chairs, or relax on our spacious porch, overlooking the ponds & Catskill mountains. Breathtaking views await!! This incredible retreat sits on 2 acres and has plenty of space to explore!

The town of Prattsville is incredibly quaint, boasting a fully stocked market which has so many great local craft brews and everything you'll need to feed your group! The town also offers a liquor store, the Prattsville Tavern, and the local hotel bar, offering billiards and an assortment of your favorite spirits. For your pet's needs, we have Young's Ace Hardware store. Also in town is Prattsville Diner, Prattsville Museum, ice cream shop and even a hair salon round out this amazing town to have a great day, for all in your group!

Our home away from home offers a large outdoor year round fire pit on our 24 foot porch with breathtaking mountain views, in the horizon. In the Spring, you'll get to feed our active, stocked pond filled with beautiful Koi and Goldfish, and see other wildlife, all around you.

We have high speed internet and 2 large smart TVs for your technology and entertainment needs! Enjoy our house warming, wood burning stove, as well, in the winter months. Circle around our family table or cozy living room while you play one of our many board games we have. In the spring, summer and fall, you can help yourself to our outdoor activity equipment and games such as horseshoes and cornhole.
Like to barbecue?? Nothing like a good ol' cookout under the summer stars while enjoying some family and friends time, dining on our spacious porch!
Welcome to PARADISE! We know you'll love your time at the Red Barn Retreat!!
Pets are welcome, as long as they are picked up after, in consideration of all who share our lovely property! We charge a $75 pet fee for up to 2 dogs.

Ideal Holiday Getaway!

Lovely stay - J&L have thought of every detail & amenity that you may want to use during your visit! Beautiful details inside & out with mountain views/ ponds/ walking trails! Great location between Hunter & Windham mountains. Highly recommend!!

Snow much fun!

We enjoyed every moment! The cabin is cozy and has everything to make the most of quiet or busy days! The kids played many board games and we were lucky enough to enjoy fresh snow two of the four days! We hope to return!

Cute and serene

The cutest stay! Quiet and private property with beautiful views (the photos don’t do it justice!). So many fun activities like lawn games, board games, and food to feed the koi fish! Will certainly be back!

Perfect Weekend Getaway

This property was the perfect weekend getaway for my fiancé and me with our two dogs. This cabin offered seclusion without being too far from multiple towns with grocery stores, great restaurants, and fun hikes - even in February. It offers all of today’s comforts including fast WiFi, a fully functional kitchen, and comfy beds, while also feeling very outdoorsy. We loved using the wood stove and exploring the property with our dogs. This is the ideal home base for a trip full of hiking and exploring and also perfect for posting up in a cozy spot for a few days. We would definitely recommend and are already looking forward to our next visit!

We went the first week of February so there was a beautiful covering of snow. The view of the snow covered mountain, pond and field around the house is definitely serene. We had a clear sky in the evening which made for an amazing view of the sunset from the porch and

Picturesque House and Property

The house and the grounds are sweet and picturesque. We enjoyed many walks with our dog around the property. We came for a ski weekend and were pleasantly surprised to have a niche for boots, coats and accessories. The wood burning stove was easy to use. The two teen girls enjoyed sharing the double queen bed room. The Owner was easy to communicate with.

A Comfortable Escape

Situated on top of a rolling hillside with views of the mountains in the distance, there really couldn't be a better scene when you're sitting out on the porch or toasting marshmallows by the pond's fire pit. We travelled to this property in February during what turned out to be a very snowy weekend. It's rare to arrive at a booking and find it to be better than the pictures do justice. The 'finishes' to the house were perfect for a mountain side home, a powerful wood burning fire, tidy wood flooring and modern appliances. The flow of the building meant that all members of the party could be interacting as the ground floor is open plan. There were two good sized bedrooms and 2 bathrooms aswell so the five of us had plenty of space. But it's the outside of the property that makes this a must visit location. There are woodland trails, an old pond and a sense of remoteness that provided a perfect family getaway. Despite the sub 0 temperatures at times we thoroughly enjoyed wrapping up warm, hiking around with our dogs and building fires with the endless wood that the hosts provided. It's also worth mentioning that the roads to the house were well maintained during the snow and access to the nearby town/supermarket took only 10 minutes. The Wifi was also fast.

Charming gem of a find!

Photos don’t do a justice to this cabin. We were awes from the moment we arrived. We’ve stayed at many places but this cabin felt like an actual cabin. Just don’t right! Will be returning.

Girls Weekend

Property was better than the pictures. Very serene surrounds. We able to just sit back relax and enjoy each other company. Would definitely book again.

Perfect mountain retreat

Stayed with the family for a snowboarding weekend and it was the perfect place. Short distance from both Windham and Hunter mountains so it was easy to get to both during the weekend. The non-skier in the family enjoyed the cozy house and touring the scenic property with our dog. A well stocked grocery store is less than 10 minutes from the house. The owners are super responsive and helpful with any questions we had. Absolutely the perfect place to stay and we look forward to staying again in the future.

The Catskills area has always been appealing to us since it offers wonderful adventures such as hiking, biking, skiing, shops, restaurants and fun! It is, of course, just a great place to relax in the mountains. Our location is so close to all popular and busy towns, yet also has its own quaint, and adorable town with a tavern, liquor store, grocery store, diner, post office, salon, gift shop, ice cream shop and a bar with billiards and welcoming locals that are sure to share their lifelong experience of the history of Prattsville! Make sure you stop over to the Hotel Lounge bar and see Doris!
