Escape to the historic Rideout House, a 200-year-old property listed on the national register of historic places. Immerse yourself in the rich history of this property as you step inside its doors. This expansive 6-bedroom, 6-bathroom home boasts 4,500 square feet of living space spread across 2 and a half stories, perfect for families who want to vacation together yet still have their own private spaces.

The living room, featuring wide beam reclaimed barn wood floors, welcomes you to this charming abode. The spacious and well-appointed kitchen provides plenty of light and connects to two dining areas, allowing ample space for large groups to gather comfortably.

Step outside and discover the tranquility of the backyard, where a quiet private stream and firepit provide a perfect spot for relaxation. The adjacent Cold Spring Brook Park, recently restored by the community of Weston, provides additional outdoor recreation opportunities.

Located in the heart of small-town Weston, the Rideout House is just a short walk from the world-famous Weston Playhouse and Vermont Country Store. Take a short 16-minute drive to Okemo Mountain or the town of Ludlow for even more entertainment options.

This home sits on the foothills of the Green Mountains, with Okemo (16min), Magic Mountain (11min), Bromley (17 minutes), and Stratton (41min) within easy reach. Hiking enthusiasts will delight in the endless trails nearby, while Wantastiquet pond, just a 5-minute drive up Lawrence Hill Road, provides opportunities for fishing and boating at the nearby Wantastiquet Trout Club.

Foodies will appreciate the farm-to-table offerings in nearby Weston, Londonderry, and Ludlow, with an array of innovative, delicious, and extremely fresh meals. Don't miss out on nationally recognized Grandma Miller’s bakery, just a 15-minute drive away. Note about noise: We have neighbors close to our house. As such, loud noises after 9pm cannot be accommodated. We utilize a noise monitoring system, Noiseaware, to insure we act as a good neighbor. This device records decibel levels only no conversations are recorded.

What a great place to relax and enjoy all that Vermont has to offer year round! This 200 year old historic home is massive! All the bedrooms were clean and comfortable and common living spaces were cozy and welcoming. The babbling brook across the street in a beautiful park surrounded by wildflowers is a highlight. We all had a wonderful time at Rideout!

Host was very responsive to our questions, house was very nicely decorated, lots of personal touches in the home, beds were very comfortable and we really appreciated all the bathrooms that house came with. Overall it was wonderful stay.

Would stay here again!

Overall this was a wonderful home that feels cozy and with a lot of space! Location is good, there’s a good selection of places to visit nearby or mountains to go ski. My only real concern was that it can be quite icy getting up the hill to the parking/garage.

Extremely well decorated and very clean

Plenty of room and a very comfortable furnished. Well decorated with lots of antique and two wood burning fireplaces with plenty of wood and starters.

Group Getaway

Our group of college friends and our families had a wonderful weekend stay at this home. Even though the weather was rainy and cold, the spacious living and dining areas made it easy for everyone to relax, catch up, and spend quality time together indoors. The kids especially loved the game room, and the hot tub was a perfect way to warm up after being outside. The house comfortably accommodated all of our guests, and we appreciated the well-stocked kitchen and large pantry area, which made meal prep easy for a large group. The location was another highlight — we were able to conveniently walk to the Vermont Country Store and the Village Store, and the park across the street was great for outdoor games and activities whenever the rain let up. The only minor drawbacks were the limited parking and the close proximity to the neighboring home, though additional parking was available just a short two-minute walk away. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would gladly return.

We were a family of 8 and stayed at the house for Thanksgiving. The house was perfect, clean, plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for all of us. Lovely sitting room with comfortable seating and fireplace. The house was very well stocked with dishes, cookware, etc. We did bring our own wine glasses, which was helpful.It was nice to walk to town to Vermont Country Store, and a few other shops, and there is a pretty park across the street. We would definitely stay again!

Vermont stay

All in all we had a nice time in VT. The house was cool. Very interesting and Lots too explore. We enjoyed hanging in the main living room and enjoyed watching movies with the kids and playing music. Super close to the Vermont country store, which is why we stayed there.

Wonderful winter getaway!

We were a large group of adults, teens and tweens and this house was perfect for our vacation! There are so many private nooks to have some alone time along with a great open family room and kitchen area to come together. We loved its charm, its coziness and variety of spaces. David was great to work with and very accommodating. Would definitely recommend and book again.

Wonderful clean comfortable house in the center of Weston

The house has a interesting lay out , but was clean and comfortable . A little shy on glassware for a large group and limited parking. No wine glasses anywhere. But 2 different coffee makers and lots of towels. Well managed and centrally located in Weston, you can walk everywhere. Enjoyed our stay very much !

Amazing

We really enjoyed staying here.. Great property that has got a lot of character in it. The highlight of this place that I really liked is the campfire set up beside a small creek. I definitely recommend staying here. Last but not the least, the host was prompt in responding to any questions or concerns I had making sure the check in and check out process was hassle-free.

Great spot!

The house is fantastic, and in a great location. Despite all the floods the week before everyone on our golf trip had a great time. Just be cognitive of the neighbors at night as our small group didn’t realize they are right next door. David the host was great the house is awesome and everyone had a fantastic time! Would love to rent again with my wife and son!

Our weekend stay at this home was fantastic. Spacious home in a nice location

Our extended family of 15 enjoyed our stay at The Historic Rideout. The house is spacious and is nicely equipped. It is in a nice quiet location with a small waterfall and park across the street which we used for a family photoshoot. The owner was very responsive to our questions. The owner provided a lot of information on the house and the area. The Vermont Country Store was a 5 minute walk away.

Ski Vaction

We had a group of 16 people, 8 adults and 8 children with plenty of room to move around and enjoy the living spaces. It was very clean and everything worked great. We skied at Okemo which was a 15-17 minute car ride. After a long day of skiing we sat next to the fireplace (he supplied plenty of firewood) and watched the NFL football playoff games. I highly recommend this house for a ski trip.

Great place

This house was more than large enough for 15 people (8 adults, 7 kids). Very short walk to town and 15 minute drive to Ludlow. The house itself is fantastic! Rustic floors and lots of natural light. Two streams, one in back next to fire pit with great view of surrounding hills and foliage, and another stream in front across the street. The property owner was very easy to work with and responsive.

Delightful!

Our family had a magnificent time at this gorgeous farmhouse! There is plenty of space for a large group including lovely bedrooms, many bathrooms, large shared spaces to gather to eat and visit as well as room if folks need quiet time. We had several generations together from an infant to great grandparents and everyone enjoyed our time in Weston immensely. The house is in walking distance to the quaint little town and also an easy drive to Okemo and Magic Mountains to ski. Some members of our group went on a gorgeous hike (and brought our dog thanks to the house being pet friendly!) - also a quick trip. The Weston Priory is only about 5 minutes down the road as well, and that is a beautiful, sacred place to visit. The only down side was that the heat stopped working halfway through the weekend and wasn't resolved until after we checked out. Our folks were uncomfortable but we made do and it didn't dampen our time together. We'd definitely return!
