Enjoy spectacular sunsets from the deck of our Marsh Side home located in beautiful Old Saybrook, Connecticut or watch the sun rise over the marsh from the front door. Our quiet family-oriented neighborhood is perfect for a relaxing getaway with loved ones, and two public beaches are a short bike ride away. There is ample space with 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms and an office suitable for when work calls. Our den is the perfect hang out area after a day of exploring. Come and enjoy! Full disclosure * exterior cameras in front of home for security purposes.

The house was very nice, totally equipped and located in a quiet area with a beautiful backyard view of the marsh and sunsets. A truly peaceful and relaxing place to be. Thanks to the very helpful and thoughtful hosts it was a perfect experience we hope to repeat!

Serene and stunning

The marsh home setting was simply spectacular. Sunrise and sunset were especially wonderful. Even on the icy cold days in February it was a beautiful spot, both inside and out. Close to shops and restaurants (and the train), but surrounded by nature.

The Perfect Place!

We had the best time visiting our Old Saybrook family and staying in this home! It was so clean, and the owners thought if everything from beach towels to extra toothpaste. The location was perfect and we enjoyed our morning coffee each day watching the marsh’s wildlife. Would highly recommend this location and already want to return!

Lovely Marsh View Home

We had a wonderful, peaceful stay on the salt marsh in Old Saybrook. The house was thecleanest, most well appointed VRBO we've ever staying in. Our host was friendly and attentive. Loved watching the nesting ospreys and other shore birds from the deck. We had a wonderful week there!

Wonderful Stay!

We had a fantastic stay! Gillian and Matt are wonderful hosts. We had to find a place to stay while our floors were getting redone and wanted to stay in the area. This was the perfect option with a great deck and yard. Our grandson loved looking for crabs in the marsh at the end of the circle. I would definitely recommend this house.

Beautiful Marsh House

We didn’t need anything. The house was fully equipped. Kids and adults were entertained by kayaks, bikes, ping pong.foos ball and any game you could think of. House is on a cul de sac so kids rode their bikes safely. Beach was a short distance away. Nice privacy.

Marshview House

Title of house says it all--stunning view, active with birds and wildlife. Saw herons, osprey, a fox and rabbits. The cottage was lovely, well equipped with clear instructions. We felt very much at home. One suggestion: please post instructions for using the kayak cart. Does it need a strap?

Fantastic spot, Felt very comfortable

Gillian is very communicative via this app and text/phone and strives (& succeeds) to have you very happy with her wonderful property. The house is a birder’s paradise and very relaxing and a great location to see all the shoreline has to offer. Felt very comfortable in the house as it was very clean and had a slew of amenities. I am pretty particular and the place exceeded my expectations. Ping pong table & foosball table were icing on the cake. Thank you for making our vacation so relaxing and enjoyable.

Just what we needed

From kayaking, biking, and a bit of ping pong, to lazing around reading and watching the osprey from the yard, Marsh View was the perfect vacation home for our family of five. We really enjoyed walking to town through the peaceful neighborhood with children out playing on their lawns or at the nearby park. The house itself was immaculate, well-stocked, and truly comfortable. Finally, our hosts really went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Needless to say, we had a wonderful week in Old Saybrook.

Marshview Stay

My husband and I had another lovely stay at this Marshview home. The house is very clean and well appointed. The backyard looks out on a beautiful sal marsh teaming with bird activity. We love watching the nesting ospreys raise their fledglings. They are talented at fishing! The neighborhood is quiet and peacful. We hope to return again nexy year! Gillian and Matt are friendly and attentive. They certainly know how to host! I highly recommend this property!

Dream Stay

I cannot express how much I loved this house. I came to Old Saybrook for the holidays with my family and this was the perfect home for us. It was impeccably clean, so nicely decorated, SO cozy and it had anything and everything you would need during your stay. Gillian was also an amazing host and was super responsive and attentive to our needs. I definitely will look to stay here again, specially during the summer as the house had a beautiful back yard and view to the marsh but since it was so cold we couldn't spend much time outside or on the porch so I look forward to the next opportunity to stay here again. Thank you for everything Gillian!

Wonderful Week Spent In Old Saybrook

Gill and Matt were a pleasure to work with and so kind. Gill contacted me Saturday morning to let me know we could arrive earlier than planned and left us a delicious welcome basket. We found the house perfect for our needs and fell in love with the marsh, osprey, sunsets, beautiful deck, and the three showers!!! We took advantage of the kayaks and bikes provided and the nearby splashpad daily. The neighborhood is in a great location and I found is to be very quiet and the neighbors friendly. Everything about the house and area was perfect! We spent a wonderful week in Old Saybrook. Thanks Gill and Matt for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Quiet & Relaxing

My partner and I found the house to be exactly as described, near the end of a cul-du-sac in a very quiet neighborhood. The back yard looks out directly on the marsh with Long Island Sound visible in the distance. Wildlife was abundant, including some nesting osprey, rabbits and even a deer or two. The first few days of our stay were extremely hot but the steady breeze blowing in from the Sound and over the marsh kept things very comfortable. The house itself is very spacious, so much so that we hardly used the second level. The kitchen looks directly out over the marsh and offers a very pleasant place to have breakfast. The house is only a short drive from the Old Saybrook business district which offers numerous dining and shopping opportunities. Other local attractions like the Florence Griswold Museum and Gillette Castle are within easy reach. We greatly enjoyed our stay and hope to return soon!

Thank you for making our trip to Old Saybrook even better!

This was the best rental we've ever had through VRBO. Best things about this house and it's host (Gillian): The House is really clean. It's kitchen is very well stocked, helpful as we cooked a bit over Thanksgiving Gillian was super responsive and flexible on check-in/out times. The House felt more like home than a rental, well appointed and comfortable in every room. Basement game room was a hit with all the family premium foosball table and great ping pong table with supporting gear in top shape. Bikes, corn hole, and kayaks in the garage look like they would fun in the summer months. As we have family in the area we'll definitely be looking to book here again. Thank you!

Perfect Stay!

We had a perfect stay at Gillian and Matt's beautiful home! The home was clean, spacious and comfortable. It was well-appointed and stocked with everything a family would need, from linens to kitchenware to games and activities. It was spacious enough for the 6 of us to really be able to spread out and have some privacy, if needed. The marsh view was beautiful and we just loved relaxing on the back deck, as well as on the Adirondack chairs in the backyard. The beach and downtown shops and restaurants were very close. There was a nice playground with a spray deck for our grandson to enjoy within walkng distance of the home. My husband and I were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary with our children and grandson and Gillian and Matt left us bottle of bubbly, which was a nice touch! They were great hosts and communicated well. Everyone loved the house and we really enjoyed our stay! We hope to be back again sometime! Thank you!
