Quiet 5 Air Conditioned* bedroom house in the Connecticut Countryside close to everything, but far away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. The house features 2 communal living rooms, each with a fire place. The downstairs has been converted into a game room complete with a full sized air hockey table, cocktail pac-man machine and a record player to play my vintage record collection. 1 King primary bedroom, 3 fully appointed queen bedrooms, 1 twin room with trundle bed, 3 full bathrooms, dining room, kitchen, screened in porch, fire pit, gas grill, wood burning grill and lots of activities to keep you entertained outdoors. *Air Conditioning in Bedrooms only.

10 minutes to Washington Depot and the exclusive Mayflower Inn & Spa

8 minutes to downtown New Preston filled with charming shops

12 mins to downtown Kent brimming with restaurants and shops

35 mins to Mohawk ski mountain

12 mins to lake Waramaug state park

Beautiful home, very clean. Dan was a lovely host. We had some seriously hot weather and then vicious thunderstorms so we did not get to do too much exploring of the area to comment on any surrounding activities too much. On the hottest day we did check out the Danbury fair mall to stay cool and bowl. The closest lake is cute, the kids swam there on afternoon and had a blast.

Out in the rural wilds of western Connecticut is this idyllic retreat. My friends and I held a writing weekend here and it was everything we needed. Many spots to gather together - and to spread out. Do note the lack of air conditioning in the living room and dining room areas. The bed room A/C units were very effective, but if it had been in the 90s - we would have needed to find and use the many fans also provided to try and stay cool during the day.

Wonderful Fall Foliage Weekend Stay

We had a great long weekend with peak foliage enjoying the beautiful decor inside and out, playing croquet with colorful leaves surrounding us, visiting the various quaint towns, and going to the Elephant Trunk flea market and farmers markets. Kids loved the Pac-Man etc video games. Dan was very responsive and helpful. We hope to be back!

A place that has everything.

This house has been set up so well. We really enjoyed our stay. The beds are comfortable it was like being in my own bed. House was extremely clean. The games downstairs we all enjoyed. The house was so well put together. I have used many houses on VBRO and this has to be one of my favorite. The owners were so nice and helpful we got lost and he stayed on the phone with us until we made it to the house. We were all a little stressed by than and he made us calm down and laugh. The directions are good trust Waze it takes you right there the construction signs are confusing which is explained in the directions.

A most gorgeous home

This is the country home I wish I had, and stepping in, it felt just like that: very welcoming, EVERYTHING we could possibly need located where I would logically expect to find it. By far the most gorgeous house I have ever rented in a decade on VRBO. The house was spotless, decorated with perfect taste, and so comfortable: great beds, soft linens. It was 7 of us yet we all our space. The grownups enjoyed the shade of the huge umbrella outside while the kids spent $15 worth of quarters at the air hockey table (please note that the quarters were provided by our host and that the game is only 25 cents, so yes, they liked it a lot!). We went to Quassy park with the kiddos, another huge hit as well, and melted s'mores at night. This was a heavenly parenthesis in our busy lives, we look forward to renting this beautiful house again soon, could not have had a better stay!

The perfect getaway

This house has something for everyone! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and only wished we could have stayed longer. The house is immaculate, is fully stocked with anything you could need and beautifully appointed. The beds are comfortable and there are plenty of extra linens and towels. The entire property is so private and quiet it makes for the perfect country getaway! Our host was so gracious and accommodating and we hope we can return again the next time we are in the area!
