Unwind in the hills at this peaceful and private loft nestled above a barn with scenic garden views.

Tucked into the scenic hills of Roxbury, this newly built and beautifully appointed loft apartment offers the perfect escape to explore all that Litchfield County has to offer. Perched above a charming barn and set on four peaceful acres shared with the main house, the Loft is a serene and private retreat ideal for relaxation, inspiration, or a romantic weekend away.
This Loft is on the same property where we live, so although private, chances are you will see us on the property coming or going or working in the garden!

Step onto your private deck and take in views of the lush gardens and orchard—a tranquil backdrop for morning coffee or evening stargazing. The interior is bright, airy, and thoughtfully designed for comfort and ease, making it a cozy home base after a day of adventuring.

Located just 2 miles from the heart of the picturesque town of Roxbury, you’ll be close to the best of New England charm. Stroll through historic streets, explore local farms, or spend an afternoon antiquing. You’re also only 8 miles from Washington Depot and New Milford, both are famous as the inspiration for Gilmore Girls, where you'll find boutique shopping, galleries, and excellent dining.

Outdoor enthusiasts will love the easy access to hiking trails, cross-country skiing, and nearby ski mountains. Art and history lovers can explore local museums, studios, and cultural landmarks scattered throughout the region.

Please note: The Loft is located on the second floor above the barn and is accessible via two sets of exterior stairs.

A friendly heads-up: We share the property with our two lovable dogs who enjoy meeting guests and will be sure to greet you with wagging tails! They may bark at first, but they are friendly!

Whether you're seeking a peaceful retreat or an active getaway, this private Loft is the perfect place to experience the charm and natural beauty of Roxbury and beyond.

We had such a wonderful time here! The loft was beautifully decorated and very clean and the property and surrounding area was stunning. We spent a long weekend here and it was the perfect size for two people. The area was quiet and peaceful and we spent a lot of time enjoying the weather on the back deck. Lisa was incredibly nice, accommodating, and helpful. We had an issue because of an allergy and she was very quick to respond and get us exactly what we needed. She really went above and beyond! Would definitely stay here again!

The loft is a beautiful space and the deck was perfect for our lazy afternoons looking out at the gardens and sipping a glass of wine before heading out to dinner and then watching the moon before bed. The furnishings are new and very nice. What I most loved were the subtle pleasures of the color palette; the green of the velvet couch on the honey floors against the creamy white walls made me so happy. This might not be everyone's passion, but it does make the stay just that much more wonderful. Definitely a favorite now in the Litchfield Hills.

Huge Disappointment

We never stayed here because we found out we were canceled as we were on our way to check in. Everything seemed great and communication was very good until three hours before check-in when we were sent a message that the reservation was canceled without any explanation. It completely ruined our weekend.

Gilmore Girls Grad Getaway

My daughter and I loved staying here! The apartment is beautiful--clean, spacious, and tastefully decorated. Tucked away behind a stone wall on a tree-shaded road, the property is a quiet and peaceful retreat. It's perfectly situated for getting your Gilmore Girl vibes in nearby Washington Depot and New Milford, and New Haven is an easy drive. I cannot imagine a nicer place for our mother-daughter getaway.

Five star plus stay

Loved everything about renting this Loft. It was decorated beautifully and included everything we needed for a perfect stay. Lisa is a wonderful host who took the time to welcome us and make sure nothing was needed to make our stay even more perfect and made some suggestions for nearby hiking trails and restaurants. The grounds are spacious and gorgeous with lovely plantings. Loved the deck, perfect for a BBQ, cocktail or morning coffee. Have to give a special mention about Nellie and Ralphie the friendly, furry puppy welcome ambassadors for the property. Hope to have the chance to return again in the future for another stay.

Pastoral retreat

We don’t want to leave. Our hosts made us feel like old friends and guests in their home. The apt is perfectly situated for convenience and privacy. Everything you need is here. We will be back!

Perfect Quiet Getaway

We loved this property! Definitely one of the most well decorated Vrbo properties we've stayed at. It was clean and comfortable (the bed was a dream!) and the perfect size for a couple. The location was remote and quiet but convenient enough to our planned activities in Kent, CT and Beacon, NY.
