Welcome to the Mermaid House. Be a Mermaid and make some waves 🌊!!

Located on a quiet circle in Dennisport with access to Swan Pond located directly across the street. Kayak 2 miles to Nantucket sound enjoying many species of wildlife and relax on the beach 🏖️ .

2 Tandem & 3 Singl Kayaks with 6 Bicycles (adult/kids) available to guests. Cape Cod Rail Trail and hiking trails just a short drive away. Ocean beaches are less than a 10-minute drive.

Take a bike ride to Dennis Port center and enjoy local dining, ice cream and shopping.

Newly furnished and decorated. Home features all new furniture with mermaid and beach accents found throughout.

Relax and chill on the large deck offering a gas grill and seating for 8 around the fire pit table (can be closed for extra table space). Enjoy evenings sitting around the fire pit roasting s’mores. Partially fenced in yard. Hot/cold outdoor shower.

Primary bedroom with your own bath located on the 2nd floor. Three additional generous sized bedrooms located on the first floor. One of the bedrooms has a sofa and a new queen bed.

House has central ac with the master bedroom suite having its own mini split (heat/ac) system.

Smart TVs in living room and in all bedrooms.

Cozy living room with smart tv. Wireless internet.

Large eat-in kitchen with built in bar stacked with all your essentials includes a dishwasher, refrigerator with ice maker, microwave, gas stove, coffee maker, Keurig coffee maker, lobster🦞pot, storage containers, mixing/baking pans, grill accessories and spices.

Basic bath, kitchen and laundry soaps provided complimentary.

Washer/Dryer located on first floor. Outdoor shower. Beach chairs, cooler and beach toys available for use.

Plenty of parking.

We are always available through a text, email or phone call.

Guests must bring linens and towels. We supply pillows, blankets and quilts.

If you are unable to bring linens, you can make reservations through local companies. Please contact owner.

We have been to Cape Cod 5 times and this is by far our favorite rental house. It is super well-equipped and we particularly appreciated the 4 kayaks, the large grill, the outdoor dining table with in-built gas fire pit, and the wood-burning fire pit in the garden. We will happily return.

Communication with owner was easy and the house had plenty of beds. Close to Restaurants/Bars. Could walk if you really needed to.

We had a wonderful week at the Mermaid house. The location was perfect for kayaking across the street at Swan Pond and for exploring the Cape. The home was clean and welcoming and we had plenty of room for our family. Bedrooms were spacious and beds were comfortable. There were multiple outside areas to sit and lots of room for the kids to play. Colleen was easy to communicate with and made our trip so easy and enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again if we find ourselves returning to the area (which we hope to do soon!).

Wonderful Cape Cod Retreat

We had a fabulous stay at this mermaid-themed house in Dennisport! The house was very comfortable. We appreciated the many places to rest, the 2-zone a/c system, the well-stocked kitchen, the many places to relax and enjoy meals in the yard, the fire-pit table, and especially the bikes and kayaks! The location is terrific. It was great to be able to access the lake across the street, and it was a short bike ride to the Cape Cod Rail Trail. Colleen was very responsive and made our stay easy. We also appreciated the tips of beaches to visit and restaurants to try. Highly recommend this house!

Cozy cottage

Had a great time relaxing for a week with our adult children. Property was clean, well equipped and the kayaks were a nice bonus. Our host was very easy to get a hold of and very helpful. Would highly recommend 👍

Spacious home with great extras

Our family had a great stay. We chose this house for the location, bikes, and kayaks and it didn’t disappoint. The home also had plenty of wonderful extras like the fire table out back and the board games inside. The road was quiet but central to lots of wonderful restaurants and a short drive to several beaches. We would stay here again.

Kayak trip

We were very impressed when we arrived and entered the house. It was clean, well kept and nicely decorated. The location was fantastic. Easy access to kayak and bike trail was close by as well. The host was very helpful and got back to me in minutes with any questions. We are looking forward to coming back next year.

Highly recommend!

Continuing a family tradition we've had for 35 years, our cape weekend for Columbus Day didn't disappoint. The size and layout of this property allowed for both privacy and relaxation as well as great family time in the common areas. The master suite was especially nice as it was upstairs and completely separate from all other bedrooms. Highly recommend!

Really nice place, well situated, great for families.

This is a great place for families. It is in a safe area, near supermarkets, ice cream, go carts and other things to do. Beaches are only 10-20 minutes away depending on where you go. I think the owners were genuinely thoughtful and helpful in the process and while renting. The home was well equipped and I would stay again. I recommend the home and the landlords without condition. :)

Very clean, cute house. Very comfortable, good AC (95 degrees out). The only complaint we had was that the mattress on the pull out couch was not very comfortable. Other than that, it was all good!

Mermaid house

Immaculate, lovely home across the street from a pond. Kitchen is well stocked with the necessary dishes, pots, pans, utensils to cook meals. There are plenty of beds for 8 guests and comfortable seating in the living room and office. There is central air conditioning in the house which made it comfortable. My 3 adult daughters, son-in-law and 2 young granddaughters all enjoyed staying here. The host provided a welcome book and pamphlets of things to do on the Cape. I highly recommend staying here!

Great Cape Vacation!

We loved our week stay at the Mermaid house! The rooms worked well for us, our two kids, their grandma and uncle. There was plenty of space for each of us to have our rooms and we made good use of the outside table with propane fire in the evening. The kids loved the outdoor shower. The location was great and the house is on a very quiet road that was easy for us to take walks on or have the kids ride their bikes (it makes a nice loop). We loved being across from Swan Pond and made use of the kayaks a few times. Beautiful pond. Colleen was very responsive too. Very happy with our experience.

Mermaid vacation

The house with all its amenities was exactly what we had hoped for. The neighborhood provided a loop for casual biking for the kids. The house setup worked great with our three adults and three almost teens. Relaxing was easy at this location. Easy trip out for groceries up 134 or jump onto 28 right around the corner for a trip to Cuffys. We enjoyed Corporation Beach for a day and West Dennis Beach most late afternoons. The only thing I missed was my morning stroll to the ocean with my coffee but the easy access to kayaking on Swan Pond and river made up for it.

TAKE ME BACK...

This home is located on a very quiet street but in mere minutes you’re in the heart of everything! The home is very spacious with 4 bedrooms. Bedroom 1: 2 twin bedsBedroom 2: 2 full size bedsBedroom 3: queen bed and sleeper sofaBedroom 4: master has king bed but since it's an adjustable mattress you will need two twin sheets instead of a king. The master is located upstairs, very private. Each bedroom had ample closet space.Bathrooms are both very spacious and clean with showers only. The kitchen is huge with plenty of seating and cabinet space. It is well equipped with everything you'll need. The living room has two couches that are both super comfortable and two chairs that are also comfy. It was able to fit 7 people easily. There is a smart tv in every bedroom and one in the living room. The outdoors is nice and private. We made use of the grill and we also loved the table with the fire! The yard actually offers THREE separate sitting areas..the "fire table" with 8 chairs, another section of the yard had another area for a fire pit as well as 8 adirondack chairs, and there is a table and chairs near the front that seats 6. There is also a very clean outdoor shower. For the beach, they supply plenty of chairs, a sun umbrella and a beach wagon...among other beach items. There are games and books for both children and adults. I LOVED everything about this place!

We liked the place a lot. Good space and convenient location. Our only suggestion would be to provide linens and recycling. I’ve never had a VRBO require guests to bring or arrange for their own linens. This is especially taxing on guests traveling long distance like we did. If the additional costs were just added into the cost of the rental I don’t think anyone would hesitate renting this place for a few more bucks but wouldn’t have to take the time to call, rent, and arrange the linens service. We even had to make our own beds and after traveling 3,000 miles and arriving late in the evening this was not something we were very excited about doing. Lastly, not to have recycling is very odd and creates a lot of additional, unnecessary trash.

Cape Cod Family getaway

Dennis/ Dennisport at the Cape is a wonderful area to visit and stay. You are close to the beaches and many restaurants as well as sightseeing. The Mermaid house comes with everything you need or want for a vacation house. We loved the comfortable beds , the Out door shower is so refreshing and the fire pit table was fun to relax around and roast marshmallows for smores. Each bedroom had plenty of pillows and blankets. We brought our own linens and towels. The master suite is upstairs with a private full bathroom. It has a King bed with adjustable remotes for increased comfort. Also a mini split to stay nice and cool. We utilized the well equipped kitchen and the laundry room which had detergents and items such a zip lock bags in kitchen that were very useful. Colleen and husband communicated very well with us and we even had the pleasure of meeting them as we left. Every bedroom including the the living room had smart TVs. Overall the accommodations are highly recommended. A quiet location in a safe neighborhood with a loop for kids to ride bikes safely. Visit Breakwater beach and Mayflower Beach ,skip the big beaches like “Nauset “those have massive stairs 3 tiers which are difficult to navigate with kids and older adults not to mention beach stuff. Keep it simple if you do venture there. Colleen supplies you with a big beach cart and plenty of chairs as well as some beach toys.

reconnecting with family

beautiful property filled with all the necessary amenities for a wonderful time away with family. Loved the back yard and fire pit. my only disappointment with this rental is that the cleaning fee was nonrefundable. in my years of rental on the Cape cleaning fees were refundable.

Diamond in the rough!

Will stay here again. House comes equipped with everything you’ll ever need. Convenient to many beaches and activities. The kids had a fantastic time, which is what matters most to us.
