Communication with owner was not well at all. I asked questions for months and months ahead of our trip and continuously got no response. Even the day we checked in, I got no response until the house was ready. The house was clean and in a good location with a very nice pool!

The pool area is really nice and is well maintained. The house has everything you need , however, it really needs to be updated and repaired where needed.

Great location and house, could be better appointed

The house was missing some basics, like salt and dish soap, although the host, Charles, was very responsive and brought dish soap over when we asked. I imagine he would have done the same for salt, if we had asked for it. The house was very clean, but the walls could use a painting, especially the stairs, which are covered in scuff marks. The pool was great and very clean - Charles came by and cleaned it up for us. I think the guide needs to be updated - it says to buy toilet paper and leave it there for future guests but the house had plenty of toilet paper. Checkout requested us to wash all the towels and sheets, but we woke up too late to run all of those loads before we had to leave at 10am. The location was incredible - free trolley to the beach, or you could walk a half hour to the beach instead. Also walking distance to mini golf and ice cream. All in all, the house was very comfortable and suited our needs but there are a few small things that could be improved. I certainly wouldn't recommend against staying there.

This home was inviting and clean. The beds are very comfortable. The pool was nice.

Bethany Beach Vacation

The check-in process was seamless. The manager lives right next door which was both a blessing and a detriment. When the air conditioning quit working one night, he was able to walk over and remedy this from the outside of the house. The detriment was we felt he was always keeping a watch on us even to the point of asking us how we were doing. He told us he added water to the pool which made the pool really cold for a day of swimming. We also had towels over chairs by the pool and did not realize they had a sprinkling system which soaked our towels and they were unusable for the next day. The pool was fabulous and the best part of this property. It was big enough and deep enough to accomodate all of us. The children REALLY enjoyed the pool. The house needs some cosmetic care. The carpet was stained, the sofas were stained, the paint was peeling off in the bathrooms, and the walls are all marked up The grass is not growing around the pool and there was mud around the cement. The trolley is now free and it stopped right in front of the property. That was a real plus for this location as parking at the beach was not available unless you got there very early. You are able to board the trolley with all your beach equipment. If you are looking for a house that has a nice pool and you are willing to be somewhat crowded with 13 people, this property is for you.

Great house and location

Perfect house for a family beach vacation. Within walking and biking distance of the beach and downtown. Quiet neighborhood with shops and local restaurants close by.

Family Vacay

Perfect house for our family vacation . The pool was a wonderful addition to previous vacations we have taken . Easy drive or 15 minute walk to town and beach . Walk to breakfast, lunch or dinner ! We loved the trolley ! Picked us up and dropped us off right in front of the house . The kids loved riding it . Anthony was a great host, answered any questions we had promptly . The house was spacious and clean . We would definitely stay here again, loved the house and the location .

Beautiful House!

Great neighborhood for families

We really enjoyed our stay. The owner was nice and quick to respond. The home was clean and met our expectations. There wasnt a toaster so we asked and he got us one. The neighborhood was quiet and we enjoyed out early morning walks. The trolley comes right by the house (to the beach). The pool was a nice size and the kids enjoyed it. My only suggestions would be to change the backdoor lock or put a seconrary lock up higher so children cant open it. Our littlest one kept opening the door and trying to run outside to the pool. If we come back to Delaware we would definitely try and use this home again.

BEST VACATION HOME

This property was just perfect! Our family and extended family stayed in Bethany at this beautiful, clean, well appointed home in Bethany beach. We had 12 people of various ages and everyone was very comfortable! Our hosts were so welcoming and shared their favorite restaurant choices; which were fantastic! We will definitely come back to this home! It was the very best home we have ever rented! In addition, we rode bikes to the beach, swam, played board games, cooked out and just really enjoyed family time together, at last!

Not as pictured

This property is lovely, but the owner does not tell the truth. We paid extra money for a pool that we were told was finished on June 18th. It was not. In fact, we never had use of the pool for the entire week. The pictures of the house were not even the correct pictures! We asked repeatedly (since February) for the correct and updated pictures. We never received them. Be very wary of this property and it’s owner.

This town has a vibe that is just a bit more laid-back, with a few more passionate, foodie-owned restaurants and small businesses that love their craft. Best of all, we can have a few guests join us and take it all in together. We hope you find time to slow down and enjoy your favorite things here.

Our house is perfectly located in a quiet area - whether you enjoy the beach, hiking trails, on- or off-road biking, kayaking, golfing, petting zoos, arcades, wineries, breweries, or great restaurants - you will find it and so much more. Jewel of the Sea is within walking distance of Bethany Diner, Grottos, DiFebo's, Rita's, Northeast Grill, and a short trolley, bike, or car ride will take you to many more eateries. John West Park offers a shady walk along the neighbourhood trail, a local playground, and open space hosting various events year-round. The sandy guarded beach is a mile due east, with so much to do along the way.
We provide a full kitchen, full bath, large common area with a sleeper and Murphy bed and an upstairs loft with a queen bed. The dining area accommodates up to 6 guests. We have travel cribs and infant dining chairs if needed.
Travelling in small groups, we have found that we like a bit more room to spread out, but low-maintenance spaces. We love this cottage because full beach days should be met with effortless transitions to nighttime fun and an atmosphere of calm relaxation. Enjoy!
