We managed to have a good time in PuntaMita, despite the house was in very bad shape: The pipeline didn’t work, therefore we had sewage smell all over, bathrooms not working, the pool was too hot, couldn’t use it for 3 days. The shower was broken, the golf cart had bad breaks and a nest of wasps, we couldn’t use it a lot, it had almost no breaks. We couldn’t use the kitchen and the garden for many days due to a really bad sewage smell that we think was related with the pipes being clogged by bamboo roots. A lot of workers were coming in the Propriety all day long to fix things every single day for 2+ weeks , we didn’t have any privacy at all. not mentioning the very loud and close by construction (right below the house: 2 houses next to each other), which we were not warned about, having a teen ager we were uncomfortable letting her sunbathe and use the pool only feet away from the workers. The doors kept breaking, we had to learn to fix them by our selves to avoid having more people coming in. many other things not worth mentioning as a broken umbrella, a door that never opened, the water disposal etc. We rented for one month and we wanted to change propriety after 12 days, but the concierge didn’t want us to leave or to give a refund, and they kept us thinking that they would respond for all the inconveniences at the end of the vacation, maybe with some extra time but at the end, they didn’t care and they did nothing but lie to our faces. They said we broke things, (unable to prove, obviously). We are very respectful family and we didn’t break anything, we tried to be away from the house most of the day due to all the problems, one of us had to be there and wait for workers which really ruined our time. actually we are not used to complain at all, but this was too much! Everything was broken before we got there. (being a very scared italian due to covid we had been in a strict quarantine before we got here) We wanted to spend a quiet vacation away from people, we rented a house (full price, not a monthly rate) with a pool for this reason, but we were forced to leave it almost everyday. Actually we would like to have a refund, or at least have the owner take some responsibility. The emails, finally responded to us (4 weeks after), were unacceptable and a joke. I feel bad for the concierge that was trying to do his best. And on top of everything, the owne kept the deposit To replace the broken umbrella, which broke during a heavy night storm.
