Desoto Grand Estate is a spacious private property just minutes from Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota. Ideal for family gatherings, retreats, and intimate events of up to 50 guests.
The home comfortably accommodates up to 17 overnight guests and features generous indoor and outdoor spaces, including a beautiful pool area, perfect for bringing everyone together in a private and relaxed setting.

Looks nice on the surface, but….

The house was clean enough, bathrooms were clean and floors and linens appeared clean, though the toilets had flies and the drains gave off a bad odor. The house is in varying stages of remodeling and all of the walls need fresh paint. Some of the cabinet doors were in need of maintenance too. Frustratingly, the WiFi did not work and the host did not help with that. The comments in the other reviews about the construction are fairly accurate. The pool and pool area were nice and well kep as was the family room area.

Spring break 2023

I feel that the hosts are new to the game, property has great potential but a lot of property was under construction. Sliding doors did not lock which led to the pool area so a danger with small kids. Only about 60 percent of outlets worked and 2 of the 4 bedrooms the hvac was not working. Big nice spacious kitchen with 2 refrigerators, unfortunately only one of them worked. I do think when they get the property done it will be beautiful but a lot of work ahead of them. The 2 pools were great and the pool area was beautiful. All in all we had a great trip, and would be interested to see the property a year from now.

Property not as advertised

Pros: The connected heated pools and surrounding patio area are great. The owner was nice, responsive and allowed us early access. Plenty of linens and kitchen supplies provided. Cons: The property was not as advertised in the description or pictures. It was not disclosed that the house is under renovation, the outside property is not accessible with debris piles everywhere or that there are permanent residents on the property (apts are right at the pool area). The house and property have potential to be amazing but it was disappointing to arrive to the property which did not reflect what was shown when we booked. We made the best of our time there but had we known these things we would not have booked this property.

Not what we thought/ Very disappointed

1. 4th bedroom, especially the bathroom and shower in close proximity to the washing machine and dryer was horrendous. One of the couples who were staying in that room left early the next morning after one night. They went to a hotel instead of experiencing that bedroom one more night.2. Having, what appeared, to be a broken down truck on the property with a dilapidated fence on the property was less than appealing.3. Air conditioning may not have been working4. No written directions especially the WiFi. I never did get it to connect to my phone or iPad.5. TV non-functional because of no WiFi.56. Communication response with the owner, Mercedes, while prompt, was almost "monosylabic"

Great time

Had a fantastic time... Excellent space for my 50th birthday party with friends and family. Mercedes was very responsive and helpful. A suggestion I would have is to provide a welcome packet that would provide instructions for those visiting, such as, where the towels are, what you do when leaving in regards to cleanup, WiFi info etc. Just some small details that will help provide directions for us while we enjoy our stay. Thank you again and excited for the updates you are building on this property!

Best Sarasota property

Amazing property! This property is perfect for large groups. Plenty of bedrooms for everyone to have privacy and own bathroom - yet still gather together in kitchen & living room. We spent a lot of time together in the back yard where there's 2 unique pools and a great patio. Home is well stocked with everything you need. Location is perfect! Close to all the best beaches, shopping and restaurants, but out of the typical tourist"s traffic. Plenty of parking and just an awesome vibe. Great communication with home owner. We will definitely visit this property again! Quickly became a favorite!

Desoto Grand Estate is connected to Sarasota’s rich circus history. The home was built by members of the renowned Flying Concellos, one of the most celebrated trapeze acts of the 1930s and 1940s, who performed with the legendary Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus.
Led by Art and Antoinette Concello, the troupe was known worldwide for its precision and daring aerial performances — including Antoinette’s groundbreaking triple somersault.
During the golden age of the circus, Sarasota served as the winter home of Ringling, and many performers settled here. Staying at Desoto means experiencing a property rooted in that extraordinary era of artistry and courage.
