Lake Willoughby Waterfront Cottage

Step out on the deck and enjoy the beautiful lake at your toes, you can swim or kayak right from the deck, The views are amazing! Enjoy your morning coffee and listen to the loons sing their songs, while in the evening relax watching the sunset. We are hands-on owners and Before any reservations are finalized, we the owners like to have a personal conversation with our potential clients, a little meet & greet by phone.

Please Note: This is a seasonal cottage, which means there is no heat or air condition. This is why it is only rented during the summer months. In the NEK please know the weather can change quickly, bring plenty of layers.

Very peaceful and wonderful view of the lake and mountains. We spent a lot of time just lounging on the balcony and the dock. Would recommend for anyone who is looking for some rest and relaxation.

The outside of the property is beautifully landscaped and decorated. There is a well equipped tiered deck and a deck off the main living space with rocking chairs. The main living space has a beautiful wide board floors, a wood ceiling and multiple lamps. The spaces are filled with clean well dusted collectibles. The bathroom is clean. There are no towels or hair dryers but bottles of family shampoo and brushes. The TV is in the upstairs bedroom. There are no available closets to hang anything up. The hooks in the living room had jackets . There is one hook in the bedroom. If you have mobility problems be aware that the bedroom is upstairs but the bathroom is down a floating staircase and there are many scattered rugs don’t have nonslip backing. There is a phone call with the owner that should happen before money is exchanged or the listing needs to be updated. 1) We did not have full use of the freezer. She informed us that she was having company so there was little space. 2) She wants you to take all garbage WITH YOU . ( Listing says take it out-which is different. Smelly garbage ( fish guts , bananas must stay in the cabin or your car. When we told the host we were not going straight home and asked for a suggestion she said maybe we could dump it by a store or she had no other suggestion. 3) Water in the house is lake water cleaned by infrared and held in a tank. You must bring drinking/cooking water. Showers must be short and toilets flushed sometimes.

Hi Cynthia, Thank you for your feedback. Regarding phone numbers, Vrbo and Airbnb unfortunately do not allow contact information to be shared before a booking is confirmed. I reached out to both platforms, but they confirmed this policy cannot be changed—which is understandable given their investments in marketing and operations. Based on your feedback, I have created a letter to ensure potential guests know exactly what to expect. I have also updated the listing description to clarify which floor each room is on, note the era of the building, and mention the details regarding closets. Additionally, please note that the garbage and recycling information is listed under "Policies" in Instruction #3. Unfortunately, the Town of Westmore trash facilities are only open on Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Thank you again for your input and helping us to improve our listing. Best regards, Kelly

Unique and One of a Kind

This is an unforgettably special place, however, it is not for everyone. Kelly does a good job of managing expectations and explains what you can expect.  Where else can you have swimming, paddling, hiking, and spectacular vista's literally at your door step? A delightful stay despite some wet weather but it is after all the NEK, and you can always find something new and enlightening to do!  Thank you Kelly, for sharing your place.
