Mayapple Cabin is 3 bed, 1.5 bath overlooking 150 acres of wooded serenity. Only a short 8 mile drive to Cantwell Cliffs and Rock House hiking areas. The cozy and rustic decor welcomes you as you first enter the cabin. Sit by the wood burning fireplace or soak in the hot tub overlooking miles of wilderness. Mayapple Cabin will provide an unforgettable experience for you and your guests. We'll see you soon!

*For the security of our guests and the safety of our cabin, there is an external security camera located by the front door of the cabin that is aimed directly at the parking area to monitor check-in/check-out times and the number of guests entering the cabin. It will be on during your stay.*

Everything was perfect!

Wonderful secluded area, great scenery, super relaxing hot tub, everything we needed was provided (we definitely brought more than we needed to). Great hosts and a fantastic weekend trip!

It was great!

Beautiful cabin! Very clean, comfortable beds, hot tub was wonderful, kitchen has everything you’ll need to cook… if you have small kids the steps are little steep from outside and inside leading up to the master bedroom, so be mindful of that. Great stay!

Peaceful and secluded

We had a great stay! There were no close neighbors. It was very private. We didn’t have a long drive to the main attractions of the Hocking Hills area. We would definitely recommend staying here!

Very nice

Quick getaway. We used Mayapple Cabin as a base of operations for bikes and outings for the various sites that Hocking Hills has to offer. The cabin was clean and comfortable and quiet. Very nice setting for some needed downtime. The host was very prompt and helpful with communication. Great stay.

Everything was as advertised. The property was super clean, the kitchen was well stocked including new pots/pans, etc. The bed was comfortable and the linens and towels were new and clean, but you may want to bring your pillows from home. The hot tub was amazing and made for a relaxing evening! Overall, a fabulous few days away from it all. Be careful on the backroads though!

Quick Getaway

Overall great experience. Host was prompt with any needed responses. Cabin was great, perfect for our family of 5. Close enough to all the local hiking attractions and hidden away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Perfect getaway. Hocking Hills for a weekend getaway in March and April has become annual trip and would definitely stay at Mayapple again.

Beautiful Getaway in Hocking Hills

My friends and I had a fantastic time last weekend celebrating birthdays and college reunions. The cabin is gorgeous, with plenty of indoor and outdoor space and a fantastic hot tub. Not a deterrent, but please note that the roads leading to the place are tricky and you will not have cell service, so print out maps & house instructions beforehand. Also, this place would be gorgeous in the Fall.

Cabin Retreat

Place was clean and perfect size. Kitchen was stocked with pots and pans for cooking and baking. Views from cabin were gorgeous with snow. Hot tub was relaxing and made for greats nights! Beds were firm Making a good nights sleep. Loved the code locks on door vs having to use key. We are already talking about going back in the summer to do bon fires, grilling and utilizing the outside bar!!!

Good but....

The property was clean and had a nice balcony and hot tub. We liked the location beacuse it was very private. There are neighbors in the distance but they are through thick tree cover so you wouldn't know they are there unless you drive around. I really only have 2 complaints about this property. The first complaint is that it is a 3 bedroom property and i paid an extra fee for 2 extra kids since it was over 4 people. The upstairs has no AC and the provided fan didn't help at all. The upstairs didn't get below what i would guess was about 76F. We had to use the bed linens on the couch downstairs since the 3rd bedroom wasn't comfortable to sleep in. The second complaint is the breaker for the living room kept popping on the night it was raining, it was going out about every 10-15 minutes. Whenever the breaker would pop it would knock out the internet so couldnt really watch a movie with the family since it was raining outside.

Not what I expected

Was not impressed with the house. Terrible odor upon entry. Very small kitchen to do any sort of meal preparation. Definitely an older house with a lot of potential though! No bedroom up stairs. One of the bedroom doors down stairs would not close all the way. The hot tub was very convenient! I think with some decent work this house could be so much more! Location wise was perfect! Secluded with no other neighbors in sight.

It was extremely secluded which was great. I just don't think that it was advertised that you probably couldn't get back there with a car, so I'm grateful that I did have an SUV because it was pretty rough. The fire pit hadn't been cleaned out in quite a while nor had the charcoal grill but we made it work. When we went to get in the hot tub we did see the powder that you put in before pAnd the one you put in after and we know not to get in before rinsing off any soap or lotions or anything, but the foam was quite intense and gross. Which didn't bother me but when we put the defoamer and we took the foam out and did what we could and it was still pretty bad. I messaged the host and was told to put more defoamer in which we did, but then was told that it wouldn't foam if these certain knobs were turned down, Those knobs being the Jets which is half of the reason for getting in the hot tub, when turned down all the way no foam! So the hot tub for me was a bust. And the outdoor lighting by the gas grill. I suppose my expectations were a lot higher given the price per night was steep for what it actually was.

Perfect cabin for family time

We truly enjoyed our stay! As a family of 4 with 2 kids in high school we had plenty of room to do movie nights, meals, table top games and complete some puzzles but at end of the day retreat to own bedrooms for down time. We happened to hit a stormy week early June but had come prepared with "unplugged activities" as cabin is nestled in beautiful trees. We certainly enjoyed having the hot tub for quick relaxing moments. Cabin was clean and kitchen had essential items to prepare meals. Property management was available as needed and had quick responses with any questions/concerns. Note that most of the roads leading to private area are gravel and take some careful driving for a non truck/SUV vehicle. But as the week went you get the lay of the land and go with the flow! Would recommend cabin to friends and family for sure as it was exactly what we wanted.. a relaxed week of seeing nature, hiking, and just being together.

Weekend getaway

We had a great time at the cabin with no complaints. I do however want to let you know of a couple things that need attention. There is a lightbulb in upstairs bed that need replace. I removed it and left it on the table. The remote batteries need replaced as well. Downstairs bedroom light switch needs addressed as it shocks when flipping on. The upstairs bathroom shower does not drain well. Also, I changed the wifi password in the book because it is listed wrong. The correct password is on the refrigerator but you should change your email as well because I was given the old one. All in all, it was a nice place.

Cabin near Hocking Hills State Park

Cozy cabin near Hocking Hills State Park. Check in was smooth. Cabin was clean. Owners had great communication when a questions came up. Gave 4 starts on location only because the last quarter mile of road to the cabin is rough and would be a challenge for a car, we were glad we went in our truck.

Relaxing and beautiful.

Very nice! Everything was wonderful. Hot tub was great. Need higher chairs for the outdoor bar, but that is the only thing. Loved it. Will stay again.
