    Wonderful Stay in Alkmaar

    House was located right on one of the canals. Everything you could need is withing walking distance. Simon is a great host and met us on location to show us around the rental and how things worked. House was very charming and very comfortable for the two of us. Would stay here again if in the area!

    Beautiful house in a n amazing part of the world

    If you want an alternative to the tourist masses of Amsterdam then I highly recommend Alkmaar and staying at Simon's. The house is lovely and authentically dutch and you are right in the middle of a beautiful town. Recommend taking the bikes out to Bergen and beyond.

    Zuhause in Huisje ohne Kugel

    Die Wohnung ist der ideale Ausgangspunkt für einen Urlaub in Noord-Holland und hat alles, was man braucht. Stellplatz in der Tiefgarage, Spülmaschine, Waschmaschine, Trockner und Fahrräder sind vorhanden und dürfen benutzt werden. Das Haus ist alt und hat wenig rechte Winkel, aber es ist nett eingerichtet und für eine Familie mit zwei Kindern sehr gemütlich.

    Einfach traumhaft!

    Als 4-köpfige Familie haben die eine tolle Woche in dieser schönen Wohnung verbracht. Lage und Ausstattung der Wohnung, alles perfekt! Der Gastgeber war sehr zuvorkommend und unkompliziert. Das Städtchen Alkmaar ist absolut sehenswert und ideal gelegen. Danke für diese tolle Woche!

    Sehr schöne Wohnung wenige Gehminuten vom Zentrum

    Liebevoll und komplett eingerichtet Wohnung ganz in der Nähe des Zentrums mit Stellplatz in der ebenfalls nur wenige Minuten entfernten privaten Tiefgarage. Fahrräder stehen zur Verfügung. Der Vermieter hat uns viele gute und sinnvolle Tipp zu Restaurants, Ausflugszielen und Stränden gegeben.

    A lovely house in a lovely town!

    We are a family of four with two teen-aged kids. We had a really lovely nine night stay in this house. It is ideally situated for visits to the beach and a day trip to Amsterdam, half an hour by train. However, Alkmaar itself is just such a great place to be! A short walk up the street from the house and you are in the centre of the old part of town, which is full of eclectic shops and a buzzing café culture. There are plenty of waterways to explore by boat and there is, of course, the renowned cheese market. We also discovered the Sint-Laurenskerk, Alkmaar's main church which, while being very beautiful, also boasts two world famous organs. We're not normally church people, but we happened to visit on a day when the organist was practising and were treated to some pretty impressive acoustics! The house itself was ideally situated. Right on the canal and so close to the old part of town it was perfect for visiting the sites and also watching all the boats go by. Being an old house it has plenty of character but is also equipped with all of the things needed for modern living. It also comes with a nearby private parking garage and Simon was good enough to allow us the use of his parking permit so that we could park on the road outside of the house too. All in all, we had a very enjoyable and relaxing time here, highly recommended!!
