Guest Access:

You will receive a link to an online guest book when it gets close to your arrival date. You will receive the link by email and text. The home has an electronic lock at the bottom level where the cars are parked. A code will be generated into your guest book just before your arrival day.



The Neighborhood:

Poipu Kai is a 70-acre resort community in Poipu. The community consists of seven condo developments with their own swimming pools, an 8-court Poipu Kai Tennis Club, a community pool and hot tub, and the beautiful Green Belt, garden paths connecting the areas of the resort. The resort is between the Hyatt and Shipwreck`s Beach to Brennecke`s and Poipu beaches. Restaurants to walk to are the Grand Hyatt Kauai, the Poipu Bay Golf Course, Kalapaki Joe`s, and Brennecke`s Restaurant.



Getting Around:

When visiting Kauai, we highly recommend renting a car to enhance your experience and give you the freedom to explore the island at your own pace. While there are other transportation options available, such as the Kauai Bus, it's important to note that the bus service may not run as frequently as you might expect.



Having a rental car allows you to easily access all the incredible sights and attractions that Kauai has to offer. From the stunning Na Pali Coast to the breathtaking Waimea Canyon, having your own transportation gives you the flexibility to visit these iconic locations on your own schedule.

I would strongly advise against renting this property. It is in serious disrepair and poses several safety and comfort concerns. Upon our arrival on the first day, we encountered the following issues:Roaches were found in the silverware drawer and in one of the beds.The large outside balcony has rusted support pillars that appear structurally compromised and need immediate replacement. This is extremely dangerous.A sharp metal object is protruding from a window frame, posing a serious injury risk.The ceiling fan in the downstairs bedroom does not function properly.The freezer on the refrigerator is very difficult to open and does not close securely.One of the patio chairs is broken and unusable.Two air conditioning units blow hot air in the bedrooms, making those rooms uncomfortable and unusable.The interior of the house is in poor condition and in need of a full repaint.Most of the closet doors are broken or difficult to open.Overall, the house is poorly maintained and not suitable for guests in its current condition.That said, the property management company was responsive and professional. They acknowledged the issues and refunded 90% of our payment. Unfortunately, they did not have another property available, so we had to find alternative accommodations on our own—which ended up being more expensive.Until major repairs are completed, I would not recommend this property to other travelers.

Poipu Hideaway…

We were celebrating a recent family member’s passing and the unforgettable memories of previous Kauai vacations. We flew from San Francisco, Sacramento Seattle and Honolulu. The spaciousness of the house met all of our needs and allowed us to walk to the beach/pool and restaurants. Although the ‘Hideaway’ was located in a resort area, the private driveway, upper and lower patios, surrounding trees and hammock made it feel like our own paradise.

Place was great! Great location and plenty of room for all. A few of the appliances however, do need replacement. The refrigerator & freezer was not working when we arrived and the sink/dishwasher had a slight leak underneath the cabinet. Fortunately our food was able to make it as management brought a smaller refrigerator replacement to get through the week. Otherwise, everything was great.

Beautiful and comfortable spot

Our family of 8 stayed here for a week. It was very comfortable with plenty of room. Lots of lush palm trees & foliage surround the house protecting it from the other homes. It’s not the quietest neighborhood I’ve ever been in but there are lots of birds to listen to! I would definitely recommend.

Fun in paradise!

We so enjoyed our stay at Soft Landings. The house is equipped with everything you need for a great stay. Kitchen is stocked with all the necessities. Very roomy and clean shared spaces for family interactions and gathering for meals. There are short walks to amazing beaches and pools.

Great Stay

We found the house to be perfect for our multi-generational family. Plenty of space and the bedrooms worked out perfectly. Mostly clean but could use a deep cleaning in some areas. The kitchens were well stocked and met our needs. We did breakfast every day, packed lunches and three dinners. The ceiling fans in the upper level are a bit of a challenge but necessary to keep the space cool. With the fans and open windows the place was fine without air conditioning. Actually enjoyable. We needed four bedrooms and this house worked perfectly. The management team was exceptional. Very responsive, helpful and accommodating. They will remind you to take out the trash and bring the cans back in. It is a little bit of a hike to the beaches. I didn’t go to the pool but the kids enjoyed it. The beaches around Poipu were not as enjoyable as on the north side.

Had a wonderful stay on Kauai! Property met ours needs perfectly, it was a multigenerational family vacay. Within walking distance to Poi Pu beach and Brennecke's Beach. Would highly recommend this property for larger groups. Off street parking too.

Beautiful house and great management

This is a lovely, well-appointed and well-managed vacation home for a big crowd (we had 9 adults and teens). We had previously experienced a really bad condo rental situation on a different Hawaiian island, so it gave us great confidence that this would be a good experience when the management was very communicative and sent multiple messages prior to the trip. They sent us access to a digital Guestbook with all the details about the property, check-in and check-out procedures, etc all in one place for us to access before and during the trip. To be honest, we were a little nervous that the house didn’t have air conditioning, but it wasn’t a problem at all. The sliding doors and windows were always open when we were home, and the constant ocean breeze kept the shared living areas very comfortable. The 3 bedrooms that didn’t have good air flow had a/c units, so sleeping was comfortable for everyone. We had access to the neighborhood pool and tennis courts (5 min walk from the house) and multiple beaches (10 min walk from the house). The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking necessities and plenty of dishes/silverware for a big crowd. The photos are accurate, the furnishings are recent, and the beds were comfortable. The house has multiple lanais, and we spent most of our time at home eating or lounging outside. Highly recommend this house for a Kauai south shore vacation with a big group.

Comfortable and convenient for family groups

The home was very clean and welcoming, and the location was perfect for short walks to the Poipu Beach area. Of the five bedrooms, three could be considered "primary" or fairly equal, and two are definitely less appointed. Management was friendly and responsive to some problems we encountered, however follow up was a bit slower. Overall it was a good experience to stay there.

Family Soft Landing

Our family of 9 including 2 kids (3 1/2 and 16 months) had a great week at the property. The 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms worked out very well for us as a multi-family unit. Enjoyed the wrap around lanai and multiple places to enjoy each other's company or be solitary. Appreciated the provision of a portable crib and high chair. Beach chairs, umbrellas and boogie boards were provided. Management was very responsive to questions. The location was an easy walk to Poipu Beach with great kids beach and a quick walk to Shipwrech Beach in the other direction where we enjoyed multiple sunrises on the Maha'ulepu Heritage Trail. Great location for excursions to the West side, Waimea, as well as to the North side, Hanalei Bay and Princeville. Would definitely stay here again.

Great get away for 1-8 people

this house was split so you could rent a one room, a small suite for two, two bedrooms and a large living/dining/kitchen area or all of it! The outdoor lanai's were spacious. A 10 minute walk to the beach. Close to quaint shopping and restaurants. Located on the "sunny side" of the island. The management was amazing with continued contact before and through the whole journey of the rental. The only things that would have been better, is if all the lights and fans switches were labeled, it would have been perfect for the average family. Note this is not handicapped/elderly friendly.

Great location and friendly staff

Amazing house minutes from all the beaches. Great common areas for hangout with fa ily and game night. Would come back again year over year. Do yourself and your family a favor and book this place vs. Hotel rooms. The staff are amazing too. Great communicators, easy and painless check in and check out process. Available for questions upon demand and if they miss your call, they call you back within 5 minutes. Can't say enough how easy the staff make this trip for us.

Good place for family. Had a failure with 55" TV but was corrected within 48 hours. Lighting in main living space made it difficult to read on rainy evenings. Beach and pool access was more than advertised - e.g., 20 minute walk. Getting rid of garbage from previous renters was an immediate challenge. Weather made for more days / evenings at house.

Nice Stay in Kauai

We enjoyed the house and it was great for our group of 8 people. I did mention that one of the air conditioning units was not working but we just dealt with it because there was a nice breeze. I was a little disappointed that no one came out to fix it, but otherwise the place was perfect. Close to everything.
