We’ve stayed at this property two years in a row now, and we absolutely love it! The pool is perfect for relaxing, and having the dock right there for fishing was one of our favorite parts of both stays. The location in Jamaica Beach is another huge plus. It’s far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Galveston that it feels peaceful and relaxing, but still close enough that you can easily head into Galveston and enjoy everything it has to offer. There’s also an amazing Mexican restaurant nearby that we loved! Overall, this has become one of our favorite places to stay, and we hope to keep coming back year after year. Highly recommend!

Great place to bring your kids to play in the pool. The neighborhood is great with access to a fun park for the kids. Fishing here with your family is a blast. The only bad thing is the smell of mold in the home. But over all it was clean and beds felt comfortable.

This was hands down one of the best trips we’ve ever had! Part of me doesn’t even want to leave a good review because I’d love to keep Jamaica Beach our little secret… but it truly deserves it.The house itself is amazing and has just about everything you could possibly need. It’s listed as sleeping eight, but I’d say six adults would be the most comfortable. The pool is a great size, the fishing right out back was incredible, and you really can’t beat having the bay in your backyard and the beach just right down the street. The area is quiet, relaxing, and just beautiful. The only downsides were with the management company, not the home itself. They only provided one towel and washcloth per person for the entire week, so we were constantly doing laundry (thankfully there is a washer and dryer). Also, the sheets in the master bedroom were dirty when we arrived, so we had to wash them before using the bed.Even with those small issues, this place was absolutely worth it. We had such a great time and will definitely be coming back. So thankful the owners share this little slice of paradise!

We’re sorry to hear about the limited towels and washcloths, and we will look into how we can better support guests’ needs for longer stays. We also regret that the master bedroom sheets were not properly prepared on arrival, and we will review this with our cleaning team to help prevent it in the future. We truly appreciate your thoughtful review and are grateful you plan to return.

We loved our month stay at the Prager Bay view! First off, the home is on the older side and could use some updates. The dock was missing boards and it didn’t seem like there wasn’t an operable sink for cleaning fish, but we didn’t fish, so it wasn’t important us. What we loved was the beautiful pool and yard, expansive deck, and canal view. The home was comfortable and clean when we arrived. The a/c worked great and the beds were comfortable . We will definitely be back!

Friendly Get-together

Spent the weekend at this property with some friends that I grew up with. The place was clean and the property management team was very responsive. The only negative I could see was that some of the lights at the dock were not working which made fishing a little more difficult in the evening given how early it gets dark this time of year, but overall it was a great stay

House was perfect for our mini vacation! Had everything we needed... The lot the house sits on is huge and spacious... Our pup loved it! The pool was awesome and most enjoyable... The only negative (to no fault of the owners) was the mosquitos... They were terrible... Being outside after dusk was unbearable... Overall we would stay here again!

Pros : Good area, good fishing, awesome view, great pool, fenced side yard is good especially if you have a pet, good pots and pans in the kitchen....we had every thing we needed to make thanksgiving lunch....really enjoyed the time there P.S every house has its flaws just some more than others here are the cons Cons: really bad smell in the bottom bed room, outside furniture needs updating, found a couple of roaches in the kitchen, also renting straight through ryson Rentals will save you about 200 dollars

Steven, thank you for your review, and we appreciate your feedback. Homes with ground-level bedrooms or living spaces can be a great alternatives for those with limited mobility or teens and adults who’d prefer a little more privacy or separation. Due to code/structure and island humidity from the Gulf, ground-level areas may have higher than expected humidity levels. However, there are some steps that we can take to help alleviate this, and your feedback has been forwarded to the appropriate department to be reviewed and addressed. Please let us know if there's anything else we could have done, and sure future guests will appreciate your tip.

Family friendly and clean ❤

We rented Prager Bay and really enjoyed our experience. We came with my in-laws, our 2 little girls and 2 dogs, so the fenced in yard was perfect. We spent many nights fishing but mostly caught sand trout and catfish. This home came with everything we needed and was very clean. There was even board games for the kids and books for the adults, even though I didn't get the chance to read any I am a huge lover of books and loved that I had options. The location was just right, being away from all the crowds in Galveston but close enough we could go there any time we wanted. And having the beach right across the street from the community was perfect. Thank you so much Bill and Susan for sharing your home with us!

The stay was good. We had a few issues. The underwater lights were not working. The AC did turn off at one point and it was 79 in the house but the rental company sent someone out to fix it pretty quickly. We also had a moment of the water shutting off but is ended up coming back on and no one came to check on it. The kitchen was very nicely stocked with appliances, dishes, and cooking supplies. The breeze was wonderful. The pool was clean. They also had the pool guy come out during our stay, I wish we would have known about this but it was not a big deal. Overall we had a great time.

As advertised

Based on the location and the knowledge of the area the house was as expected. The price point was on par with the current market but based on the house itself seemed a little expensive. The house is nice, and we had a great time. We brought our boat, and tied it up outside the dock. Please note that the Jamaica Beach community requires a permit to utilize their boat launch and the patrol officer that verifies permits is not the nicest of people; we had to drive to neighboring Pirates Beach to launch which was an inconvenience.

Thank you for your review, Sam. We're sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the rate. Additional fees are charged by platforms such as Vrbo, rates are dynamic and update every 24 hours based on area availability on comparable properties (number of bedrooms, occupancy, the location being on the canal, having a private pool, etc.), and all pricing is available upfront, prior to making a payment. Also, our teams, being local, are familiar with boat launch options and the limitations/requirements of each.
