Lumberjack Lookout is the perfect base camp for your next adventure in the Smokies. Less than 3 miles to downtown Gatlinburg, 4 miles to the national park and 6 miles to Pigeon Forge. And we welcome dogs with advance approval, so the whole family can enjoy vacation together!

Lumberjack Lookout (formerly Big Sky) has been fully refreshed. Check out this list of improvements:

This 2-story cabin entry is on the first level where you'll find a game room with sleeper sofa, king bedroom, full bath with walk-in shower and stacked washer/dryer. The king bedroom also has a desk and chair, just in case someone needs to do a little email checking or homework (but we sure hope not!)

When you walk up stairs, the first thing you'll notice is the soaring wood ceiling and beams. It's a very spacious setting for dining, watching TV or just playing a board game.

The kitchen offers updated stainless steel appliances and plenty of counter space for meal prep. You'll find nice quality cookware, bakeware, dishes and silverware. See the photo of the huge selection of hard anodized cookware!

The second king bedroom is on this level of the house with an attached full bath (tub/shower combo). Like the entry level's bedroom, the mattress is identical and super comfortable for a great night's rest (new May 2022). Both bedrooms have a large flat screen TV, too.

We would love to host your stay at Lumberjack Lookout. If you wish to bring your dog, please request approval of your pet *before* booking. Here are the items we'll need:

NAME, AGE, BREED and WEIGHT
Confirm your dog's flea/tick prevention program
Agree to bring a crate for when your dog will be alone
Agree to pick up & dispose of waste properly

Pet stays are $125 per dog. The VRBO listing says dogs must be under 50 lbs but we will make an exception for well-mannered larger dogs.

Relaxing Vacation

Lovely vacation home!

We definitely recommend this property In Black Bear Falls resort! It’s convenient to everything yet. You feel like you’re in your own little dream cabin! Jenn was incredibly helpful through out the entire process, which is always a huge plus when you’re traveling with your family.

Nice cabin! Great communication. VERY COSTLY TRIP

Let me start out by saying Jen was amazing. Great communication, no problems getting into our cabin. The cabin was beautiful. It had most everything we needed. A few things- there were no cleaning supplies, & no detergent for laundry (which we were told there would be). The pool table was non-functional. The cue sticks were broken (all but 1) and the pool table was in bad shape. Our refridgerator stopped working our 3rd day there (we were only there 4 days), this would not have been a problem if it wasnt for Thanksgiving. We came to see the Turkey Bowl & was hosting a large dinner after the event. We ended up throwing out around $600 worth of food. Apparentally the fridge quit the day before & we did not realize it until the next day. We were told maintance would not come out because it was a new fridge. They did refund us $150, we ended up buying 3 small coolors just to put drinks in and ate out. However there was many others coming to eat which did not work out at all. We lost so much money on this trip. The hot tub was great.

Great cabin

We’ve stayed in this community before and absolutely love it. It was the first time in this cabin (Lumberjack Lookout). It is now our favorite cabin. Nice lay out. Not cluttered. We stayed 8 nights to visit the National Park for fall colors. We’ve rebooked for future visits.

Guaranteed Bear Sighting!

So I made this reservation trying to save my family from a direct hit from hurricane Milton. First, let me tell you about Jennifer the property manager. She made everything so smooth and simple. She literally had a back up plan for everything. We had an issue at check in. She had a plan A,B,C. If Jennifer isn't the CEO she should be. She should be in charge of major decision making. About the cabin, it was very beautiful. We've stayed in many cabins and this one was very warm and had a cozy family feel to it. We had everything we needed. the best part was the back porch. My wife and I were just enjoying the view when a giant black bear walked by. It was about 4 feet from us. I could actually reach out and touch the bear, that's how close. We ran inside bc it startled us. We were kinda upset when we realized how much the bear didn't care about us. We wished we just stayed on the porch and just watch. The second day we sat all day enjoying the cool air. Three black bears came by 8am, 2pm and 6pm to check our trash. too bad it was locked up. They are obviously on some type of schedule. So If your looking for some awesome wildlife activity without any worries bc Jennifer has your back. Then this is definitely the cabin for you and yours. Thank you for everything Jen.

Mountain Getaway

The cabin was roomy, cozy and clean. The upper deck had a porch swing, rocking chairs and a hot tub. It was close to downtown, which was an added bonus. We would come here again.

Great cabin

Checking in and out was very simple and communication with Jen was top notch. The cabin is very nice and cozy, we especially enjoyed sitting on the fabulous covered deck. We had a great stay!

Beautiful retreat

Excellent stay!

We loved everything about it. The location was great, the cabin had everything we needed for the week. We took advantage of the hot tub, pool table and pool - but having coffee on the porch swing in the quiet mornings was my favorite. We seriously didn’t want to leave.

Gatlinburg Area Getaway-Teen Approved

After a 1850 mile road trip with 2 teenage boys and a dog, my jaw dropped when we pulled up to this AMAZING cabin! The driveway is steep, but I got used to it after the first time pulling in and out. We ordered pizza the first night and had it delivered. It was delicious! The boys appreciated the WiFi connection and were able to connect their Xbox and play with no issues. The beds were comfortable and the deck was nice to enjoy a morning cup of coffee and listen to the birds. I sustained a back injury prior to arriving at the cabin, and had to go to an urgent care in the area. I have never had this happen on a trip, but it was nice to know assistance was nearby. The hot tub was an added plus and helped my back tremendously! The cabin is close to Pigeon Forge and all of the attractions as well. Kudos to Jen for her communication and we would DEFINITELY stay at the Lumberjack Lookout again! Thank you!

Great Stay for Family Vaca

The cabin was the perfect size for our family of four. There is one bedroom on the lower level and one on the upper (in case you have small children). It was the perfect distance from Gatlinburg and the grocery store. We loved the hot tub and also used the pool during our stay. Communication with the owner was top notch! They have board games and puzzles available which is always nice. She had snacks waiting for us when we arrived which was so appreciated since our drive from Nashville took much longer due to traffic. We recommend this cabin!

Lumberjack Lookout

Jen was amazing and the property beautiful and well cared for. I will definitely be back and this cabin is where I'll stay. Note: if you are a nervous driver, understand these cabins are not on flat ground. Also note, you will learn how to maneuver and the cabin is worth it.

Perfect stay close to downtown Gatlinburg

Cabin was amazing! The location is perfect. It’s secluded yet a short drive to downtown Gatlinburg and about 20 mins from pigeon forge. Also very close to the arts and crafts area. Be sure to buy local when you’re there! The cabin had everything we needed and we were very sad to leave. Peaceful mornings on the top deck were a nice start to the day. And, management was very responsive. Would absolutely stay here again.
