Mountain cabin located in the Blue Ridge Mountains, 5 min from Blue Ridge PKWY. Lots of wildlife, long walks on mountain trails. Great view of the starts at night. Enjoy relaxing rocking chairs on front porch, great reading spot.

where do i start

Should I mention the poor communication with owner, required a phone call day before arrival for instructions...nothing through VRBO? How about being met by the sheriff's department on our second evening, after finding house was double booked through another online booking site for same nights...and being accused of being trespassers...we were questioned by them for over an hour! Or maybe the Sheriff's department advising us that the owner reported seeing our dog and personal belongings on a camera... dog was crated in living room... Sheriff's present were particularly unnerved by that. We left immediately upon securing a hotel 45 min away... It was a great way to spend the night before our daughter's wedding!!!

Wonderful Cabin in the Woods

We were so fortunate to find this property that is less than a half mile from our daughter's new house. In a secluded gated community, the cabin is situated on a beautiful wooded lot and since there aren't many other houses, the gravel road made for a wonderful walking path to enjoy the fall leaves. The house was immaculate, with homey touches of old quilts, sewing machine table, old rustic ironing board--just lots of touches of Americana. The living room and kitchen/dining area are very large, as is the washer and dryer. The bedrooms were quiet and so comfy--I had no trouble sleeping. The house only has heating units in the living room and one of the bedrooms in the back of the house, but if you have them both on, and leave the bedroom doors open, the heat gets to the whole house very well. Cell service was fine inside the house. Internet slow, but to be expected in a remote area such as this. Owner was a pleasure to work with and was very responsive to all questions. Defintely would stay there again.
