Whether you're sipping coffee on the deck, watching the sunrise over the Gulf, or taking a sunset ferry ride to Galveston, this laid-back beach neighborhood makes it easy to enjoy coastal living at its best.

Within 10 miles, you’ll find the lively heart of Crystal Beach, where you can:

You’re extended family now! This means we’ve anticipated your needs and desires in advance and prepared for your arrival so that while you’re here, you get to enjoy every detail of your 5-Star beach vacation experience with no worries.
By now, you’re probably curious about how the Bolivar Purple Pelican began. My husband Josh and I have been married for over 18 years and have 3 beautiful children. We call Monroe, LA home, but the beach is where our heart is!!
About three years ago, we purchased this beach house and immediately decided we wanted to share our love for beach living with others! So we dipped our toes in the water of short-term rentals and couldn’t be happier with our new adventure. Because I’m from Louisiana, you’ll notice a theme from my culture when you stay in one of our rentals.
There’s so much to love about this property! But our favorite part about it is bringing families + loved ones just like yours together!

Bedroom 5 boasts beautiful 3 Queen-sized beds & 2 Twin-sized daybeds, so this room sleeps 10. It also has a Smart TV. Your second bathroom has a shower/tub combo in case the kids (or your dog!) need a bath after a fun day in the sun.
You get all linens provided– yes, including beach towels too!! Your bed is made fresh for your arrival, and you get a starter supply of cleaning + paper products.
Beat the Texas heat with COVERED stairs that lead up to the top deck. Enjoy ample seating and the craftsmanship of sturdy wooden furniture on the deck. Plus, a shaded sitting area with plush patio furniture, including a sofa, loveseat, and coffee table. So breathe deeply as you sip your coffee each morning in one of the tall captain’s chairs and take in those beautiful, unobstructed Gulf views!
There’s lots of parking– up to 4 cars under the house/driveway. Additional parking is available on both sides of the private road in front of this small row of 2 cheery beach houses where The Purple Pelican is located. For groups larger than 18, ask us about renting one of these other homes nearby.
Enjoy shaded picnic tables and the bar below the house. It’s the perfect place to call your loved ones and tell them to come to the beach for a small get-together! And get rid of any grit before you go upstairs by taking a rinse in the outdoor shower.
