Water front House. Completely off-grid and just outside of town...

Attention nature seekers! north country trail is literally across the street, and trail 8 is only 1 minute down the road. So If you're into exploring in your 4x4, hiking, biking, or trail walking, then this may be as close to heaven as it gets in person for you! During your stay you be surrounded by gorgeous views and complete privacy! This is a full modern completely off grid, solar powered home with plenty of room to spread out! Enjoy amazing sunsert while sitting by the campfire or preparing dinner on the grill. master bedroom consist of the entire second floor with a half bath. There's a full bath on the main floor along with two full selfless sleepers that seem to work great for kids and then another queen sofa sleeper in the walk out basement which includes small kitchenette and then there is a full size futon in the back sun room looking out at the lake. large kitchen that is fully stocked with utensils and cooking Essentials. Gas stove and butcher block countertops. When you stay with us you also get free use of the paddle boat; kayaks can be rented $50 ea for entire stay. Please let us know in advance if this is going to be requested.

This house is in a great location, far enough out of town to feel secluded and in nature and close enough to quickly access groceries, restaurants and hiking trails. The view of the lake is beautiful.

Great place, beautiful location!

We stayed for 2 nights. It's a great location - close to town, and above all on an incredible lake. Quiet, remote, has everything you need. The host was great, kind, and easy to communicate with.

Clean, relaxing environment, over looking a small lake, was stocked with all the essentials you would need. Close enough to all of the Pictured Rocks attractions, but out of town enough to relax. Well kept property inside and out. Would visit again. Thanks for a memorable experience!

Clean house. Plenty of room. Beautiful lake view. House was supplied with just about everything you need. Lots of literature, which helped us make our plans. Easy access to downtown Munising, and waterfalls. I would stay again! Maybe with girlfriends next time.

View was great, pictures were a little deceiving of the inside of the property.. We could not figure out how to open the lock box so we left keys in mailbox under the lock box. Weather was fabulous.

We loved our time at Tommy's off-grid retreat. The amenities were perfect for our needs. The balcony overlooking Lake Ackerman and the sunsets went above and beyond our expectations (not to mention the abundant stars at night!!). With a paddleboat, two firepits and a hammock - we always had a reason to be outside enjoying nature. It was very close to all the Pictured Rocks adventures, but the quiet and serene feeling at this home made it a perfect place to recharge for the next day. I would highly recommend for anyone needing to rest and stop to appreciate the natural beauty of the UP!

Nice Lakeside Cabin Stay

My friends and I great time staying at this cabin for the weekend while we were visiting for Munising and Pictured Rocks. The cabin was clean, had plenty of amenities, and the host Thomas was easy to communicate back and forth with. Would definitely recommend for anyone planning to vist the area.

Peaceful little lake in the perfect location

This is a wonderful cabin/house on an adorable, quiet lake. The beautiful, large deck overlooking the lake is fantastic! We enjoyed the hammocks and kayaking, too. It feels very remote, yet it’s close to Pictured Rocks and many other attractions.

Pleasant stay

Great stay. The cabin has everything you could need for comfort. Close to Munising. Owner was helpful and responsive. The lake is very pretty and makes for a splendid backdrop off the deck.

Great location

This cabin is such a nice little house to stay in!! There's a fire pit, paddle boat to use on the little lake, close to Munising and hiking, and everything you need for a comfortable stay! It is right off the highway so very easy to find. Thanks Thomas!!

Great Stay

House was beautiful and right on the small private lake. We brought our own kayaks and enjoyed our stay! Owner had a waterfall guidebook that we used to explore multiple hikes. We had a great day trip to Marquette and kayaked along Pictured Rocks. We would definitely recommend and hope to return!

Beautiful property. Dirty dishes in the dishwasher and trash in the cabin trash receptacle. We didnt know we had only had wood burning stove for heat. Maybe not a problem but it would have been nice to know this info up front.

We had a very pleasant experience. We were comfortable and the host was accomodating. Because we had small children, there were some concerns about the deck and the stairs, but we were able to work that out. We will definitely go back if we decide to stay near Munising again.

Wonderful location and a good house

Ackerman lake is just a gorgeous place; the main windows to the house open up on the lake and allow you to view it from almost anywhere in the house. Kitchen was extremely well set up, with utensils, excellent appliances; ditto the dishwasher, which made the stay a lot easier. Thomas was extremely responsive and checked in several times during the stay to make sure everything was going well.

Exactly what we were looking for

This is a great property on a beautiful lake. The property manager was quick to reply and very helpful!!! The house was great, and waking up with the view of the lake through the window was the best!!!!! Very peaceful and quiet...but a short distance from a couple towns where there was a lot to do! Thank you for the experience.

Very nice location

Very nice location, one of the bedrooms is indeed in the walk-out basement - it did not bother us that much. Plenty of couches to sleep on, and beautiful views all around. Owners seem cool and easy going! We also rented a pontoon and had a nice half day on Lake Superior. Would recommend!! Thank you, till next time!! George

Very nice and super cute. Property owner had amenities that most properties owners wouldn’t allow…fire pit with everything we needed to have a fire, a paddle boat that he allowed us to use. I highly recommend this property to anyone going up to the pictured rocks area. 😊

A great spot on a quiet lake

A quaint cottage with plenty of windows and beautiful views of the very pretty small lake from almost every room. The kitchen was well appointed and there was plenty of space for our family of 5 (with 3 young adults). The foldout couches are pretty good for sleeping. We did bring one additional foam mattress topper which we were glad to have for extra comfort. We loved the outdoor seating space and fire pit. We had a great long weekend and would stay again if the opportunity arises.
