Enjoy a taste of UP lakefront living on nearly 3 acres of wilderness, nestled in the heart of the peaceful Hiawatha National Forest.

Just a short 20 minute ride to downtown Munising and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Loon Landing is the perfect place to experience the best of everything Michigan’s Upper Peninsula has to offer.

Depending on the season, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy campfires, swimming, boating, hiking, fishing, stargazing, snowmobiling, ORVing, horseback riding, mountain biking, cross-country skiing and/or snowshoeing, and best of all: relaxing! The cabin was perfect for our family of five. Beautiful, peaceful property. Loved the view of the lake (and the loons), kayaks and fire pit. It was a fantastic home base for our family to explore Pictured Rocks and the surrounding area. Property owner was also wonderful to work with. I've now personally recommended the property to many of my friends!

Fantastic location, isolated yet near enough (25 minutes) to everything from shopping to hiking to fishing. What really amazed us was how incredibly clean the house was! I have a son who is terrified of spiders and a spouse that is terribly allergic to mold and dust. Everyone was good! I highly recommend this cabin :)

Relaxing getaway

We knew we were going to love staying here as soon as we pulled in the driveway. The house was very clean and the views were amazing. The kids enjoyed fishing the paddle boat and making s’mores. The house definitely lived up to expectations.

Private Peaceful Getaway

This was our second peaceful stay at Mirror Lake. The home was clean and comfortable. We loved seeing the loons, kingfishers, frogs, and osprey fly-by. We swam and kayaked our cares away. Valerie is a wonderful and accommodating host. Highly recommend this lovely getaway.

Great family vacation on this property

This property was exactly as promised. Kitchen was fully stocked, extremely clean and orderly house and great outdoor area for a campfire. The owner was quick to respond to questions. So glad we chose this location for our family vacation. Will definitely keep it in mind for the future.

We loved Loon Landing

We had a wonderful time at this cabin. All of our questions were answered promptly, the owners are very nice and courteous. The cabin itself was adorable and clean. The lake is beautiful, we enjoyed it to the fullest. Swimming, fishing, boating, and kayaking. We enjoyed campfires and the scenery. We would highly recommend.

Loon Landing

This our second time staying at Loon Landing and we enjoyed it just as much as we did the first time! Autumn is beautiful but so was June! The hosts are friendly and respond promptly. There is quite a bit to do in the surrounding area. The property itself is clean, cozy, and welcoming!

The property was very well stocked and clean. They provided kayaks, row, and paddle boats, which my kids loved. The lake and shore was crystal clear and clean. The host was easy to communicate to and answered always in a timely manner. We plan to visit again!

We enjoyed our stay at Mirror Lake. The location was peaceful. The cabin was clean, well equipped, very comfortable and inviting. The kayaks were great. We enjoyed paddling around the lake, relaxing while enjoying the solitude. We were able to see a variety of interesting bird species, turtles, dragonflies, squirrels, rabbits, etc.. Great place! Would highly recommend Loon Landing on Mirror Lake.

Pictured Rocks Vacation

We enjoyed our stay, the lake was very quiet at all times of the day, the beach was nice and clean as was the lake water, we enjoyed fishing on the lake. The location was very convenient to Munising, which had everything we needed while we were on vacation. The area is beautiful with so many beautiful beaches to visit and so many pretty hikes within an hour. We appreciated the opportunity to stay in a cabin, we have previously always camped. It was nice to be able to go sit on the dock or by the firepit after a long day hiking. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. We enjoyed our stay.

Mirror Lake Escape

The photos on VRBO are accurate but they don’t fully capture the wonderful, peaceful, and gorgeous lakefront setting. Kayaks were provided and we used them daily. The cottage was very comfortable and stocked with everything we needed. The location is perfect for visiting Munising and nearby sites and waterfalls. The hosts were the best! We plan to return.

A slice of UP paradise

We were one of the first people to rent this place so it really was going out on a whim when I booked it but we could not have asked for a better place to stay! It is so cozy and has so much to offer with the beautiful lake in the backyard. We spent quite a bit of time kayaking, fishing, and swimming! The fire pit is on a patio near the house and makes for a nice bonfire! The location is perfect, tucked away from town far enough but yet close enough to so many things to do and see! Would definitely recommend!

Oh gosh, being able to get away from all the busyness and enjoying true peace and quiet is our favorite part about the cabin! To be clear, the cabin is actually only 2.3 miles from the paved road, not 10 as suggested, and Alger county does a fantastic job with all of their roads - paved and unpaved. That being said, we can’t control the condition of the roads only our property and the cabin, which if we have to say so ourselves, is pretty great!!

Girls trip

The property was perfect for our girls trip, fire pit area was great for sitting around and chatting. Unfortunately the weather didn’t allow for a fire. Inside, plenty of room for us to spread out in the living room or gather around the dining table for food and games. Very quick response from Valerie with any questions. Would definitely go back if our travels have us in the area again

Beautiful Peaceful Getaway

The property was exactly as described, with one exception...The lake was even more beautiful and peaceful, than we expected. The water is clear the view from the master bedroom in the morning was gorgeous. Our entire family really enjoyed our stay. The cabin itself was very cozy and big enough for our family to spread out and overall a very comfortable stay. The hosts communicated very efficiently with us and made the entire process very easy. We would highly recommend this property and look forward to making another trip next year.

Honeymoon Haven

My husband and I rented this cabin for our honeymoon and DID NOT regret! It was very relaxing and clean! The view is gorgeous and the amenities are perfect for the cabin! I really appreciated that the hosts got right back with us when we had questions and they were very kind through the whole process. We could not have asked for a better place to relax and DEFINITELY recommend this cabin. It’s conveniently located just a few miles from Munising and pictured rocks! Such great memories!
