The Stanley Schooner House

The Stanley Schooner House is stunning and perfect for hosting large families. The Master Suite is incredible. The kitchen is well appointed and perfect for making meals for your group. This charming late 18th century home is modern but captures the essence of the fantastic history of this small coastal town that was once booming with ship builders and fisherman.

Please be aware that this is a Main Street home in the center of our little downtown area of Milbridge along with many beautiful large historical homes and buildings. Its location is conveniently within walking distance of all the bustling small-town businesses. Therefore, just be aware that sometimes the sounds of traffic and other common sounds of a little town may be heard in the home. You do have your own private parking for up to 5 vehicles in the rear of the Stanley Schooner House.

The grand master first floor suite is one of a kind and will surely make you feel like royalty! This space features a slate open rain shower, clawfoot soaking tub, king bed, huge ornamental chandelier, and fireplace. We have two large Queen bedrooms that are adorned in themes of blue and crimson red. Lastly, we have the Seafarers Quarters on the 3rd floor which is perfect to accommodate large families and children. The kitchen and home is well appointed which will have most all of your essentials covered. Be one of the first to stay in this newly renovated grand home. Visit Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor (45 - 55 mins) or a local seafood shop for the freshest catch of the day. Lobster pot / tool Kit available! Are you ready for a Maine east coast adventure?

1st Floor: Large eat in Kitchen with Island Bar seating 4 | Living Room with Gas Fireplace | Master suite w/Full Bathroom | Bonus Bar/Parlor Room | Large Dining Room that seats 10

2nd Floor: Two large bedrooms with Queen Beds | Large Laundry Room with Double Washer and Dryer | Two Full Baths

3rd Floor: Two large bedrooms, each room has two double beds

Exterior: Large covered porch with Gas Grill and Patio Set, Private parking for up to 5 vehicles. There are exterior door security cameras' only.

The base rental rate covers up to 4 people which is intended to make the house affordable for smaller groups. Each additional person above 4 is $25 per night. This is accounted for in your booking. However, if there is any additions to your group after the booking, please let the host know so we can request payment for any additional people. Max occupancy is no more than 14 people. Thank you.

Beautiful and unique property. The kitchen is well equipped with utensils and appliances. It’s about an hour from Acadia national park and 1.5 hours from Canada. Our family had a great time. The host did a great job.

Absolutely wonderful. You don’t need to bring anything she has the house fully furnished with everything you could possibly need. The house is beautiful and she checked in with us several times to see if we needed anything. Would definitely recommend staying. It is such a sweet and caring town.

Charming Rental

If you are looking for a very quiet place to stay that is north of Acadia National Park, this is your rental. Great kitchen, fast internet and off street parking along with being close to a grocery store and driving distance to many Down East Maine attractions.

Very nice stay!

The Stanley Schooner air B&B was everything it was listed as. Very clean and well decorated with a supermarket just a couple blocks away. Rachel was a wonderful host and responded almost instantly to a question. Can't say enough about how our family enjoyed it! Thanks Rachel and we would definitely stay again if in the area.

The house is absolutely gorgeous! In walking distance to grocery store, take out Mexican food, two restaurants, a doggie treat shop and a gift shop! Short driving distance to beautiful parks and LOBSTER ROLLS! Already booked again for next year! ❤️

Stanley Schooner House Home away from home

Quiet neighboorhood felt like we were stepping back in time. Everyone friendly. The property has beautiful decor elegant but a homey feeling. The property manager is very helpful and gives you wonderful ideas on where to go.

Relaxing Down East!

Easy to access location, great layout for a multi-family vacation. The kitchen was well supplied and the silverware/cooking utensils/pots & pans were of considerably better quality than the typical VRBO. We made the majority of meals at the house a took advantage of the local seafood (Chipmans Warf!!) and the awesome dining room table for meals and card games. Local hiking trails were also great and communication with the host was exceptional. 100% recommend!!

Family get together

The Stanley Schooner House fit our family’s needs perfectly. We especially appreciated the air conditioning, as it was a hot spell for Down East. We also used and enjoyed the fire table on the porch in the evenings. Thank you Rachel for sharing your property!

We had a wonderful time! The house takes you back in time elegance with all the modern comforts of home. They communicate exceptional to ensure we had an excellent time. Will definitely be back. Milbridge is a great little town to be the base of exploring the Bold Coast. Truly can’t say enough about the beauty and comfort of this home.

Family Reunion

The Stanley Schooner home was perfect for us and our 3 kids and families. We had a total of 12 people. The kitchen was well equipped. We made blueberry pies and muffins as well as lobsters, mussels and scallops in the kitchen. We also hung out on the beautiful deck quite often. The boom box was fun. The kiddos enjoyed dancing to the music. The community garden was a gem. We explored Schoodic Mountain and picked lots of blueberties. We enjoyed Schoodic Point and all the tide pools. We are originally from Bar Harbor, but really enjoyed the quietness of Millbridge without the hussle of Bar Harbor, but equally beautiful.

From the initial contact about the booking, this family has been nothing short of wonderful. Let me begin by saying I am from the area and this was my first time not staying with family, so the thought of renting was just odd to me to start. However….. This was possibly one of the best visits home I have ever had. The home is stunning. It is modern polish meets pottery barn comfy ❤️ We had two families with kids along with visiting family and guests. There are so many spaces to hang, break bread, plan, relax, it is just perfect. The laundry room alone is enough to make any Mom cry tears of joy. I cannot express how perfect this home was as well as the family who owns and operates it. Plenty of parking and walkable distance to grocery, restaurant, pharmacy etc. Perfect for an intimate wedding party, girls get away…. All of it! Do yourself a favor and book it! Thank you again Stanley Family for your hospitality and going the extra mile to ensure our stay was spectacular, and even after we returned home was the best! Hope to stay again one day! Beautiful Maine Home

Loved the home, it has a great charm and nitch to it. The whole home was thoughtfully stocked with items you need when vacationing. I didn't have to buy soaps or shampoos, worry about linens, or any kitchen supplies. In fact, all the supplies were great including the coffee service. Plenty of room for everyone and especially loved the 2 washers and 2 dryers (got to get that for my own home : ) The property manager/owner was also super nice and responsive and check-in was a breeze. Highly recommend this home!

Great place for a Down East Maine vacation

This house was awesome. It was more like a hotel experience than a standard VRBO rental. The owner did not miss on the little details. There was fresh flowers on the table, coffee, Dr Teals soaps in each shower, plenty of towels and even detergent for the washer. 2 washers and driers. Milbridge was the center point for our vacation. We went to Acadia, Bar-harbor, local parks and lakes and whale watching in Eastport. If you stay here, do yourself a favor and plan on cooking at the house. The local restaurants close early. The kitchen is awesome and has everything you need. I wish we would of realized this prior to Our trip. We should of had a family dinner or 2 at the house.

Rachel and Ryan Stanley grew up in Milbridge, Maine along with many family members in years past. They have a passion for this loving town and set out to help in the revitalization efforts of preserving a rich history of a small shipbuilding town. This particular home was owned by a local family that had a successful store for many years in the heart of downtown Milbridge. As the years went by, the owners had passed and this charming 1900's home was in need of care and love. Rachel and Ryan purchased the home from the family and set out to restore this once grand and beautiful home to it's former glory and stature within the community. It has been no small feat but a challenge that has been motivated by love and commitment to their beloved community.
