Experience the enchantment of Barkin' at the Moon, an exquisite log cabin nestled in the majestic Smoky Mountains. This meticulously crafted haven, overseen by Moonrise Vacation Properties, LLC, is situated on almost five acres of secluded land in Eastern Tennessee. Adjacent to its counterpart, Howlin' at the Moon, this retreat offers a serene ambiance with two bedrooms, private bathrooms, and a cozy loft featuring a queen-sized bed. Unwind in the expansive pool equipped with jets and a hot tub, or engage in various entertainment options, including a TV, air hockey, and an arcade game boasting over 3000 games.

Immerse yourself in the tranquility and natural beauty of the surroundings while enjoying the covered decks on both the main level and basement, where you can bask in awe-inspiring mountain panoramas. Barkin' at the Moon happily accommodates up to two dogs for a supplementary fee of $35 per dog per night, ensuring a pet-friendly retreat. Please be advised that cats are not permitted due to the owner's allergies.

During the winter season, a 4-wheel drive vehicle is essential to access the property, although the steep driveway is easily manageable. Each cabin provides parking space for two vehicles, with additional parking available at the bottom of the driveway. NOTE: Government ID required to be sent when rental agreement is signed for booking to be accepted. Primary renter must be age 25 or older, and must remain on site for the reservation term.

Cousin Crew 2025

Cousins and siblings from NC Iowa were reunited and a great time was had by all. Kids loved the pool and air hockey, just wish there were space for adult supervision in the pool area. Beautiful property with seclusion but not too far away from entertainment. Great and unique location and cabin. Would definitely recommend!!!

Family Vacation

Awesome spot

We had a blast and the place was super dog friendly which made it more enjoyable for our family not to mention the place was very clean and well kept I’d definitely recommend

Absolutely amazing!!

Not only was this property clean and beautiful, but it was close to everything we wanted and more!! The host was so wonderful and the extra personal touches they left for us and our pooch were amazing! Would definitely stay here agajn!!

Beautiful Cabin

This cabin has lots of amenities, even for the dogs. It is secluded with woods all around yet still close to Pigeon Forge. We enjoyed having the indoor pool and hot tub. The air hockey table and arcade games were lots of fun, too. The cabin was very clean and we would stay here again.

Weekend Getaway

We had a great stay for a long weekend. The kids loved the pool and the games and our dog loved all the new smells and watching the small animals in the woods from the porch. Location is good - close enough to the fun and also somewhat secluded. Little details were great. Snack basket, good quality shampoo/condition, and plenty of dishwater. Hosts were very responsive and easy to communicate with. Thanks for a great stay!

Great cabin for our week stay!

This was a great cabin for my family and I to stay for the week! Beautiful inside and out. Very cozy, clean, and well maintained. The location was perfect, secluded on a quiet back road, but still only 10-15 minutes away from Pigeon Forge. Enough space for 4 adults and 4 kids, and we were able to bring our dog which was great! Our kids loved the indoor pool and hot tub. The driveway was a little steep but after going up and down a couple times we got used to it. I would definitely recommend this cabin and would stay here again!!

Amazing !!!!

We loved this cabin and all it had to offer !!! Location was perfect, quiet, peaceful, and very clean. Pool was a huge hit ! Communication was on spot. We will definitely stay again !

Peaceful

Very peaceful. Loved the private pool. The cabin was amazing. They had over 3000 games on the arcade for the kids and adults alike. Loved the air hockey game. The beds were comfortable. Only reason I gave 4 stars for cleanliness was because under all the beds had lots of dust balls. Other than that it was pretty amazing.

Location and Amenities are horrible

Getting to the cabin is horrible, It is on a one lane road that has traffic going in both directions so it is very dangerous and then once you get there, the parking is very tight and we had to ask the people staying in the other cabin to move their cars just so we could come and go from the cabin. The driveway is very steep and narrow. The advertisement we got for the cabin said it is TN law that there has to be an alarm on the pool so we felt it would we safe because we stayed at other places before with pool alarms. Once we got to the cabin we found out that not only did the alarm NOT work but the pool room door didn't even latch. We had young children with us so he could have easily walked into the pool room and drowned and we would not have known. When I called to report the issues the manager told me that she knew the alarm was broken and they sent their handy man out the next morning to fix it. Also the pool was filled with dead bugs. The hot tub was more like sitting in a warm bath. The jets are a joke and barely work. The water fall feature on the hot tub that overflowed in to the pool broke while we were there. There were no door or baby gate at the top of the basement steps. The bed was uncomfortable and so was the couch in the living room. Bedrooms should have had a chair or something to sit on. The bed was high so for short people like myself it was difficult to get in and out of. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Spring Break

The house was clean and check in was seamless. I did feel it was far away from the hiking and things we wanted to do. Some days we were driving almost an hour to get to where we were going. I should have looked into that further before booking and this does not reflect the cabin itself or the owners. In addition the view of the hill was nice but we did hike up the trail one day and found an old computer from the 90s? and some other old scraps. My son thought it looked creepy like from a scary movie! The hot tub was less of a hot tub and more of a luke-warm bath. It had to be “pre heated” for about 2 hours to use it. I did reach out and the reply was prompt and I was told the max temp was 100. I felt like it was a little cold as many hot tubs are 104-105 and don’t require so much time to heat before using! That was the only down fall of the trip, however. The arcade was great for kids and my 6 and 9 year old enjoyed having their own spaces.

この宿泊施設のオーナーになった理由

It was love at first sight with these cabins! Traveling with a multi-generational crew the layout of these cabins allows for us to travel together and have space privacy for each family. We love the fact that these cabins are on nearly 5 acres, with plenty to explore, and can be rented together or separately.
These cabins hold sentimental value in that the logs that are in this cabin came from the sawmill that my grandfather and uncle ran when Jaime was a child. Once we learned this fact, we knew it was meant to be!
