Thank you for your kind review, Mari. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and found the cottage to be comfortable. Since warm down comforters are provided on each bed and the fireplace keeps the cottage toasty warm, we've never had a request for extra blankets. When you did request blankets during your stay, we offered to provide you with extra blankets but we didn't receive a response back from you. Just to be safe, we've now tucked a few extra blankets into the bedroom drawers for our guest's comfort. Regarding house rules, I've never before heard a request to post house rules in every room. I honestly feel that posting rules in each room might be overkill. The house rules are clearly stated in the initial booking agreement and they are sent again through VRBO as an attachment. The house rules are also provided in the guest book on the kitchen counter as well as posted near the front entry. I think that is sufficient and certainly available as needed for reference. We want our guests to feel relaxed and at home while staying in the cottage, not surrounded by rules. Regarding your comments on the kitchen, our appliances are all current. It would have been helpful to receive specific details regarding which items you found to be outdated or not clean during your stay so that I could have addressed them or sent our cleaning service immediately. I am also surprised to hear that heating was an issue. As I noted on your first day, the main living room fireplace typically provides enough heat that guests find they need to turn it down. When you mentioned the kitchen fireplace was not working, I inspected it the day you departed and found it turned on immediately without any issues. In terms of the property's appearance, both the front and back yards are maintained to match the photos in our VRBO listing. I am unclear which aspects of the yard you found unsatisfactory. Regarding the construction noise, I am not aware of any active projects on the street and received no other reports of disturbances. The only issue brought to my attention was the septic alarm on Sunday night, which was resolved by the septic company first thing Monday morning. While we strive for excellence and are proud that our guest reviews are consistently 10/10, I am sorry that your experience did not meet those same standards. Best regards, Karen
