Mixed Experience

Our recent stay at this property offered both positives and areas for improvement. Let's start with the highlights. Jessica, our host, was exemplary. She was incredibly responsive, even calling promptly when we did not get the door code message as expected. The location on the first floor was ideal for easy access. The bed was another standout; the mattress was exceptionally comfortable. However, there were several issues that detracted from our overall experience. The TV consistently disconnected from the internet, requiring frequent reconnections. Additionally, the towel rod fell off the wall multiple times. The toilet would intermittently run unless the handle was jiggled, and the sofa was uncomfortable due to the bed it contained inability to fold completely. The sliding glass door was also problematic, requiring significant effort to open. Moreover, we were surprised by an expected visit from an exterminator; where advance notice would have been appreciated. Comparatively, while we expected this property to surpass hotel accommodations, this unit fell short despite demanding a premium price. While I could have contacted the host to address these issues during our short stay, as many others can relate that becomes an inconvenience for the me the renter. In full transparency I did send the same comments to the host 5 days prior to leaving this review. No response was received. I hope these concerns will be addressed to ensure future guests have a seamless stay.

Amazing Sunrises!

We loved everything about our stay. The place was great - seeing the sunrise from the ground floor was a great way to start your day. You are steps from the beach and close to anyplace you need to get to. Dunes Villages is a great resort. We will be back!

Great staycation spot with kids!

There is so much to do at this resort! Pools, water slides, beach access, and good food without having to get in the car to go anywhere. This suite is in a great location, close to everything. We will definitely be back!

Great Location

We stayed here with our Grandaughter for spring break. We wanted an indoor water park because it was in early April. The room is small but more than ok for the 3 of us. We brought our own mini kurig (room had a coffee maker) water parks were great and they had activities and crafts daily for the kids. We've already planned to go next year.

1st floor, yet had steps, grill listed in ameneties. No grill . Construction all around.

Should have been informed of the situations. I do not book, if there is no cook out area.

Another Great Dunes Village Vacation on the Books

Jessica was a great host and quick to respond to any questions about the property. We've been visiting Dunes Village for the past 15 years. This was our first time staying on the first floor, but we enjoyed the experience. The balcony is still at least high enough to see the ocean; and although the room is by the pool and outside bar, it's on end farthest away from the bar. So it's still relatively quiet. The property has been upgraded a bit – fairly recently, from the look of i. Loved the grays/blue paint and furniture colors – more soothing than the standard "Dunes pale yellow" used in the regular rooms. Also enjoyed the better use of space within this Studio. (TV mounted onto the wall; long custom surfboard dining table with bar height chairs tucked against the wall) Bathroom vanity and lighting has been upgraded nicely. Still has the usual Dunes not-so-great kitchen and appliances. (specifically the stove and toaster) But hey, they worked – so not really a complaint. The king sized bed was super-comfortable. The sleeper sofa is another story, but honestly, that's not a negative about the property. Just that sleeper sofas in general are not great, and this one is no exception. (although the sofa itself IS much nicer than the regular Dunes ones.) If you have 3-4 guests in the room, I'd recommend bringing an air mattress just in case. As other guests have noted: you can't access the room without walking up 5-6 stairs. But you can park your luggage cart at the foot of the stairs, and walk the suitcases up to the room. A slight inconvenience, but the tradeoff is that you don't have to wait on the often-painfully-slow elevators. The location of the room almost feels a bit private, which is nice. But you're still close to everything – only 2 doors down from the restaurant and main lobby. Plus the pool is 5 stairs down, through a gate, and there you are; one more gate by the pool and you're on the short boardwalk to the beach. Overall, my family and I loved this room and our latest trip to Dunes Village – our home away from home. Would recommend the property, and would definitely book it again in the future.

Beautiful area of Myrtle

Jessica was a great hostess. She called to let us know when our room was ready and provided us with all the information we needed by email for our stay. The room was pretty clean and there were starter products like t.p, paper towels, and soap. There are dishes, glasses, cooking utensils, pots and pans, toaster, and coffee maker. We brought a small air mattress for our youngest and our oldest slept on the pull out sofa bed. The room is small but the four of us fit comfortably. Beware though, there are 4 steps to go up and the luggage cart can't go up them, but the room is right inside some double doors at the top of the stairs. It's easiest to enter the building from the mini golf entrance to avoid the front entrance traffic. Overall it was a nice stay and we had a great time!

So much family fun

We really enjoyed our stay. The restaurant on site had great food and the kids loved the water park! Room was a little tight but we honestly didn’t really mind because we just had so much fun! I would definitely recommend!

GREAT!

We really enjoyed our stay here. There is so much to do on the property that you don't even have to leave. The room was clean and I loved the bed! Great communication with owner. I will for sure book here again in the future. Only thing I would suggest is maybe bring some toilet paper as there was only one roll for 4 days stay. I just went and bought some while we were there.

Beach vacation with kids

Great place to stay. Only downsides were that the door to the balcony was difficult to open at times and there is no way to get to the room without going up about 5 stairs. It was still a great experience and I would definitely recommend.
