Lucy's Casita is a Salida original, built in 1890 and located within Salida's Historic Overlay, just 1 block from the heart of downtown and 2 blocks from Riverside Park & the Arkansas River. Sitting in a mix of Salida homes, alleys, back yards, cafes and community centers, you are in the middle of our neighborly community. Sit and relax on the porch and enjoy the small town feel. There is plenty of space to gather in the living/dining rooms and the kitchen is a cozy combination of woods, exposed brick and Lucy's collections. You'll love the private back yard, which offers a new extended patio, gas grill, covered dining and in summer - flower beds and green grass.
This home offers:
~Accommodations for 2 to 4 guest comfortably
~One Queen size bedroom
~Bunk Room with a full size top and bottom
~Gas Grill
~Walking distance to downtown
~Owner does have a Ring Doorbell
~Streaming TV

All Pinon homes are "vacation ready" with a fully appointed kitchen, towels and linens. Hand, dish and shower soaps are provided, as well as toilet paper, trash bags, paper towels, salt and pepper, coffee filters and laundry soap.

Pinon Vacation Rentals provides guest support from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 pm.

All guests are responsible for reading Welcome Book “Check-In and Check-Out instructions.

~Acceptance of the terms of the Rental Agreement and all Rental Policies is ASSUMED at the time of reservation. 24 to 48 hours before arrival, check-in instructions will be sent to guest.

**This home is rented for personal vacation use only. Any other use including large gatherings or parties is not allowed. Renters must abide by all rental terms and policies, as well as all local applicable property covenants, restrictions, regulations and laws. Any evidence of smoking, use of firearms, driving ATV's other than in the driveway as access only, unapproved pets, unauthorized use of property grounds, damage resulting from violation of rental policies, and/or excessive mess may result in charges up to $3000.00 to the Guest's credit card on file, as authorized by Guest's approval of the terms of the Rental Agreement.

Reservations may be canceled more than 30 days prior to check-in with full refund. 14 to 29 days prior to arrival 50% refund. No refunds will be issued after this cut-off date for any reason. No refunds will be issued due to weather conditions, spotty internet service or interruption of service.

Great spot to relax

Salida stay

The house is very well-located for downtown Salida and the river. It was clean and easy to heat, with many sitting areas and a front porch with mountain view plus a private back yard. The kitchen was well-equipped and the main bedroom has plenty of storage and a good/new mattress. There were a few problems. The washer and dryer were unaccountably unavailable (a note in the washer stated that they were 'for use by cleaners only', although the 'leaving instructions' asked people to run a load of towels before leaving, and they are pictured in the brochure), and we found the front door locks to be difficult to use, especially with arthritis. But otherwise, well-equipped and comfortable, and a few blocks from everywhere.

Great location and comfy beds!

You can’t beat this location! It is an easy walk to DT Salida and all it has to offer. The place was clean and the beds in both rooms were comfortable.

Close walking distance to tons of shops and restaurants. Stocked well. Comfortable and clean. We really enjoyed our stay.

Adorable Home!

Lucy's Casita was perfect for my husband and me. Plenty of room, well appointed, great back patio, and pleasant front porch. The pictures do not do this home justice. The neighborhood was peaceful (we even had some deer come and visit), while being close to downtown's restaurants and shopping. Salida's riverfront park was only 2 blocks away. Parking on the street was always in front of the house. We would stay again!

Salida Summer mountain biking

The house was perfect for our needs. It is nicer than the pictures in the listing indicate. A deep front porch and a lovely back yard were much appreciated. Check in was easy and the house was very clean. The bathroom is quite small. It was warm at night in the bunk room with no ceiling fan.

Perfect

The location was very close to town, perfect for enjoying Salida. Nice backyard to relax in as well. Modern kitchen, and a very nice living room at the front of the house so we could relax and watch the neighborhood. We had a great stay!

Clean and quiet, great location

Lovely house, very clean and quiet. Great location, easy walk (one block) to shops. Beds were very comfortable and kitchen was well-equipped, even with a spice rack and to-go coffee cups. Owners were easy to reach when we had a few questions. Thank you!

Summer getaway

The property was clean and as advertised. We have been to Salida many time, but never stayed in downtown. The location of this property is awesome. 1 block from the major intersection downtown so everything is walkable, but not a lot of traffic and noise at the property. The property is between two parks, which are both about 2 blocks away.

How it should be

We were looking for a few days away from the Texas heat and thought we'd check out Salida, CO. A quick search brought up this charming house near downtown Salida. From start to finish, everything went like clockwork. VRBO didn't send the check-in info as soon as I thought they should, but fear not. The property owners were right there to pick up the ball and expedite the process. Owners could not have been more accomodating. The property was exactly as described. Clean, comfortable, well appointed, and walking distance to almost everything. This cottage is a gem and would happily stay there again!

Fun little house - served our needs nicely!

Lucy's Casita is a nice little house located in the heart of Salida. I was pleased with the fact that the grocery store and several restaurants were located with-in 4(?) blocks of the property. If we stayed during a warmer season, walking to any of the restaurants, stores or grocery would be very reasonable. The house is small, but does offer everything you need to enjoy your stay. We did have a need upon arrival and the owner did assist us with-in minutes to remedy the problem. We were there to ski at Monarch. We found the drive between Salida and Monarch to be a reasonable 20-30 minutes depending on traffic/weather. The Monarch Ski area is a total commuter style resort. There is really no lodging or restaurants in the area. So staying in Salida was a great solution. I do recommend the house for a family of 2-4.

Quaint, charming home one block from downtown restaurants and stores

Although this home was small, it had everything. A very nice well equipped kitchen, plenty of dining space, a comfortable living room to relax. The backyard was very nice, well landscaped, with lots of seating and a grill. Also had a great view of the S, (which was beautiful at night). In addition, it was clean and very well kept up. One short block and you are downtown. Downtown features art galleries, restaurants and shops. Plus the river is just 3-4 blocks away. A very nice place to stay for a couple or small family.

Great little house. Convenient.

I was a little concerned based on the pictures that my family might not enjoy our stay here. We booked shortly before our arrival and my options were limited. However, this house is an absolute gem. The pictures do not do it justice. Fred and Lucy keep it clean and it's comfortable and well appointed. It's 2 blocks from Salida's "main" street with shops and restaurants. I have no hesitation recommended this place. My family will definitely stay here again if our path ever leads back to Salida.

Salida vacation

My husband and I were charmed by the house and area in which we stayed. Within easy walking distance of practically everything of interest in downtown Salida. We greatly enjoyed the bluegrass festival beside the Arkansas River, the lovely weather and the family friendly atmosphere. This is a great town.

This little cottage is perfect for a Salida vacation

The house is within easy walking distance to downtown shops, restaurants, a park, and the river. The space was clean, kitchen well furnished, and the bed was comfortable. Perfect sized space for two adults and maybe two children. It will accommodate more, but would feel cramped, if everyone was staying indoors, though I'm not sure why anyone would with beautiful Salida weather. There is a covered front porch, perfect for watching the world go by. The back yard has a privacy fence, a covered patio, and gas grill, which is handy. If we come back to this area, we will certainly be checking on availability of this rental.

Golf Stay

Three buddies and I stayed and played a golf tournament over Labor Day weekend. We had a very enjoyable stay. We were a short walk to all of downtown events and businesses. We slept very comfortable and enjoyed the room to have gathering inside and outside. We would definitely stay here again.

Nice House

Salida has excellent shopping, dining, park and river access only a few blocks from this house. Also a good place to stay for day trips and hiking in the area. It was nice to have maps available at the house to make our plan for each day.

Great stay

My friends and I had a wonderful time at Lucy's Casita. The location is perfect, a very short walk to the heart of downtown. The house is nicely furnished, cute and comfortable, and there is great outdoor space. I would love to stay there again.
