This was a good home for the small family get together we had. We like to cook and host, and the home was plenty stocked with all we needed in cookware and serving dishes. We did lack some basic cleaning essentials like dish soap, sponges and multipurpose cleaner to make cleanup easier, but it was no problem, we just picked up what we needed. The beds were very comfortable and we slept very well. The best part was the quick communication with the owner. Anytime we had trouble using the keypad to enter, (my own inability to enter my code correctly...lol) she was very quick and kind to assist. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and visit with family.

We enjoyed our time very much at grandma Bs. It’s proximity to downtown Desoto was great! It was very clean! Check in was super easy! Angela was very responsive when we had a need. We had 6 adults. The twin beds were slightly short for an average adult, but comfortable otherwise. We would definitely stay here again!

Hi, I’m Angela! I’m a Kansas native, real estate professional, investor, and renovation enthusiast who loves bringing homes back to life. My husband and I renovate properties together, and I’ve spent years as a landlord and short-term rental host creating spaces that feel welcoming, thoughtful, and beautifully designed.

I believe where you stay should feel intentional — comfortable beds, great coffee, charming details, and everything you need to truly relax. When I’m not working on homes, you’ll find me gardening, singing, or chasing adventures with our four kids.

I’m so glad you’re here and can’t wait to host you.

Grandma B’s House isn’t just a place to stay — it’s an experience.

This 1920s Victorian farmhouse has been thoughtfully restored to preserve its original character while adding the modern comforts today’s guests expect. As a real estate professional and investor, I’ve poured intentional design, quality furnishings, and practical details into every space — from comfortable beds and a fully stocked kitchen to cozy porches perfect for morning coffee.

Unlike a standard hotel, you’ll enjoy the charm of small-town Kansas with walkable coffee shops and restaurants, while still being just a short drive to Lawrence and the Kansas City metro. It’s ideal for wedding weekends, family gatherings, game-day trips, or simply slowing down and reconnecting.

If you appreciate character, comfort, and a home that feels curated rather than cookie-cutter, this is your place.
