- There is less traffic than the northern or southern beach roads
- You can still visit each area with day trips from Sea La Vie
- Go right to get to the fishing marina at Oregon Inlet
- Go left to see the wild horses in Corolla

I have been coming here with my family for a few years. This time we didn’t have the best weather. Nonetheless, the house was felt like home and we enjoyed our time in watching movies and football. We also got to enjoy some of the excellent restaurants and attractions near the house like Sunset Grille, Jockey's Ridge, and the Lost Colony. We will definitely be returning!

Great vacation house in OBX. Kids loved shuffleboard and foosball tables. One small issue was crossing the highway to get to the beach. Easily overcome by shuttling everyone in the car the block to a lot right at the lifeguard stand. Perfect.

This house has it all... very clean, multiple common spaces, plus all the details like a fully equipped kitchen, towels, games, fire pit, etc. The neighborhood is perfect for a walk to the sound to view a glorious sunset. Don't miss out on that! The host was very accommodating and responsive. I highly recommend!

Family OBX Trip

This property was in a great location in Kill Devil Hills. We went north to Corolla for a horse adventure and south to Cape Hatteras, both were very easy day trips. We walked to the ocean many times, but you do need to be careful crossing N Croatan Highway 158. Everything was as pictured, the beds were comfortable, the water pressure in the showers was fantastic. All the light switches are labeled which was very helpful. Bath and beach towels were provided along with beach chairs and coolers, all very much appreciated. Small view of the ocean from the top deck, which we sat on often. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again if in the area.

Sea La Vie is WONDERFUL!

This house is huge and very well maintained. Plenty (and I mean PLENTY) of dishes and supplies in the kitchen, very comfortable furniture including a huge new sofa, lots of inside games, games, corn hole for the back yard, picnic table, fire pit with long sticks for cooking marshmallows. Great location 2 blocks from the beach.this was our second family vacation there and and we plan to go back next summer too!

Good location

This house was very clean and equipped with everything we needed and some things we didn't know we needed. It had plenty of room for the kids to play. The bedrooms feel private because of their location throughout the house. For us, this house was in a good location because it was minutes from all of our scheduled activities. Being close to Avalon Pier and a park with a splash pad was a bonus. Plus, we could see the ocean from one of the balconies. We had a great time during the day and a comfy cozy house to go back to in the evening.

Great location! Great house!

We loved our stay! The house was convenient, spacious and clean. My children got rowdy on the sofa and broke it. The insurance company covered everything and the owner was very responsive. Will definitely stay here again! Thank you so very much!!

Location, location, location

We enjoyed our stay very much. This was our third trip to the OBX, but our first experience with a whole home rental, and Vrbo. Overall, the experience was great. Reservation process, communication, and overall property quality was great. We were there for a friend’s surprise 50th birthday party. There were 6 adults staying at the house. We weren’t there a lot, but the property was clean, and had all the necessary amenities. We will, of course, be back. The location can’t be beat.

Wonderful house, great location, good amenities and an overall really good stay. Only drawback is crossing the highway to get to the beach due to volume, but that's not anyone's fault it's so popular around Kill Devil Hills. My friends and I had a great time and I highly recommend this place!

Three generation family trip

This house was PERFECT for our first-ever vacation with our two adult children and their families: my husband an I took the first floor, our daughter, herfiancee, and their children ages 7 and almost 5 fit perfectly on the second floor, and our son and his wife and 16-month old daughter were on the third floor. The kitchen was so well equipped - plenty of plates, mugs, glasses and silverware for all 9 of us, so we didn't have to run the dishwasher every day. The 3rd floor deck with gas grill was perfect for cooking and eating dinner. The house is beautifully decorated in bright colors and a nautical theme throughout. Plenty of comfy furniture and a TV in every room. The second floor living room had a shuffleboard table that was a hit with our grandson, and also a foosball table. Convenient laundry room (full-size washer and dryer) on the second floor. Third floor living room had plenty of seating and was open to the kitchen. More than enough space for all of us to be together, but also have privacy if we needed it. The second refrigerator in the Tiki Room on the first floor was very convenient. The fenced back yard was a fun place to play corn hole (another hit with our grandson!), sit in the hammock chair, and enjoy s'mores around the fire pit. Plenty of beach chairs and boogie boards that we could use. This was a tremendous vacation and we voted unanimously to come back next year! Alison (the owner) was extremely helpful in answering questions ahead of time.

Great OBX spot for groups

Sea La Vie was the perfect place for our group of 8. The house was big enough with hang out spaces on all 3 floors (love the tiki bar!), the fire pit was great, the kitchen was fully equipped and modern. The location was good, just be aware you’ll have to cross one road to get to the beach.

Nice Family Vacation Spot

Sea La Vie is a very comfortable and well equipped house, centrally located, and close to beach and shopping. Fishing from Avalon Pier or bayside. The bayside sunset is awesome. We liked the multiple levels which gave teenagers their own space. Everyone gathered in the yard around the fire pit at night. Highly recommended!

Lovely OBX spot!

We loved staying at Sea La Vie! The owners have thought of all your needs and have helpful notes all around the house. There are so many different hang out spaces and the foosball & shuffleboard were awesome bonuses. We loved the jetted tub and having so many bathrooms. It’s a great distance from shops, pier & beach!

After renting in the OBX for more than 30 years, we were finally able to get our own place for our family to enjoy. We have a son in the Air Force, so this is the perfect place to spend time together when he's on leave. We would never be able to afford it without awesome renters like you, so thank you for helping our lifelong dream of owning a house at the beach come true! My family likes being close to everything in the OBX (so you don't have to sit in traffic to go to the grocery store, and you can to Uber to live music at night), so this location is great for that. From this central location, you can also head out to any other town for the day to see all the OBX has to offer. We truly hope you love it here as much as we do, and that you come back year after year the way we did for the last three decades.

This location can’t be beat - We are right in the middle of the sound at 0.4 miles and the ocean at 0.3 miles away! You can see the ocean from the top deck so you can tell if it’s sunny and calm, or cloudy and choppy before heading to the beach (which is protected by lifeguards in season, and allows 4 wheel driving on the sand off season).

Avalon Pier is on one end of our road, and the sound access park off of Bay Drive is on the other end. Beach access with parking is right at the end of our street, and there is free parking and public beach access on 5th, 2nd and 1st streets as well.

Food Lion, Belk, Subway, Max's Italian, and Duck Donuts are in the shopping center just a few streets down, which you can get to from the back way in the neighborhood without going out onto the highway when there’s traffic. All the restaurants and fun places to go are close enough to Uber, and putt putt, movies, Target, etc. are right there.

Kill Devil Hills is also in the middle of the Outer Banks so you can bike to the Wright Brother's memorial, charter a fishing trip from Oregon Inlet, hike the dunes at Jockey's Ridge, visit the outlet stores in Nags Head, watch the lost colony show in Manteo, see the wild horses in Corolla, fish the point in Rodanthe, visit the lighthouse in Buxton, or take the ferry to Ocracoke.

PRIVATE BACK YARD - We've always hung out in the driveway of houses we rented before but here, you don't have to do that. You can play cornhole or enjoy the firepit with less wind, bugs and sand spurs than you find oceanfront.
SPACE - Three levels of house means plenty of room and privacy for everyone, lots of bathrooms, lots of games, and a fully stocked kitchen.
NO STEPS on the ground floor - Even though the kitchen is on the third level, people who have trouble with stairs could feasibly stay downstairs and eat at the picnic table or in the tiki bar to minimize having to go upstairs.
FULLY STOCKED, UPDATED KITCHEN- Why wait for a table at a busy restaurant when you can eat at home, or grill outside?
NEW COMFY BEDS and bedding, TVs and ceiling fans in every room - because no one wants to toss and turn in a stuffy room in a lumpy bed. If you need a TV or a fan to fall asleep, we got you covered.
GAMES - Inside, outside, upstairs, downstairs, you'll spend the week playing all the fun games with the family.
JUST PACK CLOTHES - Sheets are provided along with two bath towels per person. We have boogey boards, beach chairs, and a cooler that you are welcome to use. We also start you off with one roll of TP per bathroom, but you do need to bring your own beach towels.
LOCATION! Kill Devil Hills is in the middle of everything. The house is 0.3 miles to the ocean (across the street) and 0.5 miles to the sound.
